Well, Ryan did buy a bunch of Famicom games from Japan on the "No This Won't Be Archived" stream. So , he got a ton of Famicom games and showed them to us at the very least.
In the wake of Brad, Alex, and Vinny leaving, this hits different. In Fall 2013 I spent a semester in Japan, where I got to spend my birthday attending TGS and running around Akihabara, buying a Virtual Boy, and spending a lot of quality time at both Club Segas. And I called it: “The Raid,” in reference to this clip. It’s wild to think about in hindsight.
Yeah while there's still plenty of shops that sell retro, the prices are much higher than they used to be. It just isn't as feasible as it used to be, even at Super Potato.
I’ve lived in the big JP since 2012. Offered the GBers a good time around town, although it’s obviously sketchy me offering, haha. Still disappointed they didn’t get anyone to help them with it!
flanker22 it’s true. I still listen every week but these old clips really show how different the show is now. Brad is a boring host, people hated Patrick (which I never got) and now we have Ben, a worse version of Patrick in some ways. I miss drew :( and Ryan the most. Rip
I can't listen to this anymore knowing it never came to be.

This is probably the most enthusiastic I've ever heard Jeff.
Listening to this segment again after all these years just makes you sad that we never got to experience top tier content such as the raid. 😢
For real
god listening to this now just breaks my heart still

It was a beautiful dream.
Beautiful
Listening to this again to set up an actual game plan when I've saved up enough money.
Unfortunately things have changed over there in the last 7 years, it's harder to find the good stuff

There’s still time guys. Although almost every gaming TH-camr has already done this content and it won’t be under the giantbomb moniker anymore
It’s still sad that this never happened.
True
Goddamnit.
Miss you duders!
It's sad how this has become a running joke whenever mentioned, as if it was a stupid idea. I still think this would have been great content.
crunchy roll sponsor?

Ryan got all those Famicom games recently. Think they even did a TNT of it recently (within the last 2 months) It was hype as shit.
*...fuckin...buy all these TurboGrafX games!!!*
Didn't know you uploaded this, still awesome
I wanna know what happened with that Magical Chase!!!
Casey Poluk he still has it. Had it in his bug out bag when the fires got close to his house.
Have they done this yet? Because I would absolutely watch a series about a Japanese used game raid.
the old crew is so much better than the two crews now :/ ryan somehow made everyone funnier

@@emnigmamachine Whether he's better or worse I think Ben has a much different energy and dynamic than Patrick.
