In this video beginners will get 9 useful tips, advanced artists will learn new abstract painting techniques on canvas and everyone will get inspiration and ideas as I believe that everyone is an artist and even if you don’t yet have a high level of relevant skills you can use painting as art therapy or meditation. In this acrylic painting tutorial, I will share with you my multilayered gradient technique where I use a palette knife and flat synthetic brushes. Also, you will learn how to make texture with gesso for abstract painting. And finally, in this painting demo, you will find how to smooth color gradients to get smooth color transitions.

9 TIPS FOR BEGINNERS:
1. Start with the focal point. It will make the creation of your composition easier
2. Use the rule of thirds. Place the focal point off-center to make the composition more dynamic and interesting
3. Create the guiding lines to emphasize the focal point
4. Let the modeling paste dry completely. At least overnight
5. Wet the canvas to get smooth color transitions
6. Mix paints with unbleached white. It makes colors look less childish and more sophisticated
7. Use a very soft flat synthetic brush to smooth the gradient
8. Apply gilding wax to highlight the relief of the modeling paste
9. Make your signature a part of the composition in order not to ruin it

Very interesting use of the modelling paste. And glad to see someone else using those hugely soft brushes. They work really well for blending. I thought that piece was crying out for some more brighter highlights, and thought I was seeing a kingfisher coming through at one stage. Still very nice, and right up my street. I eagerly await your next endeavour

I love watching painters. So soothing to me like a form of visual music. Relaxing, we need color, color my or our worlds of imagination. Have you ever watched clouds and something striking will pop out, a distinct image, familiar image but something grand and fantasial about it, and then it changes into something else, quite awe inspiring, paintings like that to me, but I’m a musician who just likes painting, blending color, blending musical color tones..

Lovely abstract.
This was a such a beautiful piece it made me cry. I have just this year decided to try and learn how to paint. I have always been someone who thought they had no skill or talent. But I don't want to reply that story anymore. This piece reminded me of why I want to paint. The colors were so amazing this technique all of it. Just stunning.
If you have any advice or anywhere I can begin learning this style of painting. I assume it's abstract which is my favorite and what I am wanting to learn. Will be waiting for more videos in the future.
Thank you so much. Just try to enjoy the process without self-judgment or comparing yourself with others, especially with those who have been painting for many years. Everybody once started from scratch and it took a long time to get it done beautifully and what was needed. The main thing is to get pleasure, see progress and everything will be fine.
There are tons of great abstract painting tutorials on TH-cam. If I have time I will create a painting course for beginner artists.
