YES. My teacher did not spend enough time on this. The concept isn't that hard when using the axes, but rotating around anything other that either axis is pretty difficult.
Ended up getting a 90 on the test mostly thanks to this video honestly lol
im suffering through this rn bc of this same issue of it not being explained nearly thoroughly enough while also stacked ontop of 3 other new concepts
It's unfortunate because if you can't draw or visualize properly with this stuff it throws everything off
GREAT VISUALIZATIONS
Thank youuuuuuuuuu. I now understand it much better, when it's rotating on a non-axis
thank you...amazing explanation and pictures (:
Great pictures! Thanks 😊
This was amazingly helpful!
6 years later ...... was it worth it ??!!!!
Yes. I now have a BS in Applied Mathematics.
this video really helped me, thanks bro. and your drawings arent that bad...lol
what happens when axis of rotation is x= -2
Thank you so much this helped clear up so much
what happens when the axis of rotation in this case y=3 is in the range of both functions? what if it wanted to rotate about y=3?
Zero is the inner radius
Thank you I completely understand this now
Wouldnt the outer radius be 4 + the outer function? Since the function goes under the x axis?
No, since you're finding the area between the two curves, or the difference. So it would be the top curve (y = 4) minus the bottom curve (x^2 - 2x)
We have the same idea I thought it would be 4 + (x^2-2x)
@@zaccletaco8223 didn't understood pls if u see this comment ..explain ,..i have the same confusion shouldn't it be 4+...that guy?
Thank you so much
thank you Sir
Thanks !!
These sketches are almost better than the explanations, wow
Thanku guru

y didnot we do fuction minus 4??
i got it sorry

Your accidentally changed the sign from negative to positive in the outer radius
Yukii Hiro no he expanded 4-(x^2-2x) to get 4-x^2+2x
