Hi Guys after reviewing this video I have decided the best advice is to actually get a genuine Ross tech VAG cable/ Vcds this is because Vcds is limited in its use and only seems to work on older cars pre 2005. You can get cheaper scan tools on amazon for more simple tasks like disengage electric parking brake or re align throttle body like the Ancel Vd500. This is what I used on my 2008 VW tiguan for brake service.
This is an excellent video for VCDS lite. Consider this - with lite you are already half way to the full enthusiast version not even counting the money spent on that generic cable. I highly recommend people consider the enthusiast version ($200), it comes with the adapter and covers the very important basic settings that you will need to use after a transmission service, steering angle sensor, timing belt service etc.
Just a quick question, after you install the disc, can you remove the disc wile using it, as my laptop doesn't have a disc drive I would have to borrow one to install the disc many thanks
I can only see some modules and see faults. Eg I can see Engine, Air bag, Instruments and reset fault. Doesn't see Electrical or many others? Must I register cable first? Bought it off ebay.
Short answer, no. You need to buy the Can-Bus cable from Ross Tech, and the full version of VCDS. VCDS lite and the cheapie cables only work with 2005 and older cars. I have two Audis in my driveway. VCDS Lite and the 3rd party (ebay/Amazon) cables work on my C5 A6, but not on my B7 A4.
The cable comes with a disc. Dosent it have the program or the app to use with the same brand cable ? I know it has driver's . But why use rosstech . U defeat the purpose of saving money from using Ross tech
I have a 2002 Audi A4 1.8t sedan , I can't seem to find a cable that works with VCDS-lite for my car , can you help me with a link ? I enjoyed the few videos u have done on this topic 😁

Will the Ancel Vd500 really do a throttle body reset ?
There are a lot of questions asked here. How come you dont answer any of them ?

it costs almost $200 USD to ship that thing to EU. would buy one, but paying shipping equal to product value is insane.
i did not receive the cd is there any place where i can get the drivers ? for a vag-com 409.1
But what if the laptop doesnt have a disc drive?
I bought the same one, had a picture of a driver disc but didn't come with it. The link it came with is a total dud.
How can you install the drivers of you laptop doesn’t have a disk drive ?
Then...no,
might as well get a orginal vcds cabel.either the refurbished version or the newer budget version
Get an external disc reader for cheap
So you have to pay to get a serial I can’t just use the generic cable and the software?
This video is old and this version only works on older cars. Might be worth investing in the newest official version from rosstech
Can crack facilitate me? Thank you
I thought Vagcom Lite was free for non-commercial use?
Might be now I done this a long time ago
Hey, what if my computer does not show the cable at ports? It shows the cable at universal serial bus controllers.
Just a quick question, after you install the disc, can you remove the disc wile using it, as my laptop doesn't have a disc drive I would have to borrow one to install the disc many thanks
without doing this does it keep vcds lite from finding the controller ? i only have the engine and not registered
Do you not need the Hex OBD cable for vagcom or will one of those cheap ones actually work?
why in the program didnt appers the vw polo 6r ?
how much do you have to pay for full registration £99 or £20
good, how much do you actually have to pay £99 or £19 to register
So this serial number is only for registering the cable right?
Can this worked with a cracked full version of vag com
I can only see some modules and see faults. Eg I can see Engine, Air bag, Instruments and reset fault.

Will this work for 2007 audi a4 b7?
Mine did not come with cd
What if I don’t have a disk drive
How can i register the cable ?
So I download the software to laptop, buy the original cable. And that's it I can code any vw? What about I knew cars and updates?
lite version. please do your own research into what you can do with the Lite version
i have downloaded vcds 18.9.1 and on my cable says vag 18.9 so will it be compatible with 18.9.1?
I have volkswagen passat b5.5 1.8 turbo petrol 20v sedan its work this cable its works whit my car

Runescape ;)
Is the VCDS lite the same as the VCDS normal ie does it have the same features.
Nope. Take a look at the differences here: wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Functions
Hi can I talk to you directly?
Did you payd the 90 dollar
Does vcds lite work on vehicles after 2005?
Apologies I can't help you with that question
TechClub thanks anyways
It only works on VAG group produced vehicles with an OBD II port. Most often it is found near the steering column.
