      +EsperanzaVence several cultures light a candle in remembrance of loved ones who have passed.
      I have picnicked in a cemetery before; no disrespect was ever intended.
      some of the areas are so peaceful and lovely.
      I like some of the customs I heard about from Dias da los Muertos, such as leaving food and drink offerings.
      Western culture has a lot of weirdness about death.
      there weren't any left from the Native American side of our heritage to teach us, so we go in instinct about a lot of things.
      you are so very loved!

      +UK-Blue the tradition is odd to us, but in some ways really cool; the dead are still part of the family in an active way to these people.
