    Robert and Marina show how to use the first lineup of Blue Planet inflatable Stand Up Paddle boards. These iSUPs roll up and pack into a backpack style bag that is small enough to check in on a flight when traveling. The biggest advantage of inflatable paddleboards is the convenience and durability. This video from 2011 has become the most popular video on the blueplanetsurf youtube channel. Thanks for watching and please also check out our latest videos and subscribe to our channel, we post new videos on a weekly basis. Aloha!

    I didn't know you could get inflatable boards ! Great way to save space in the car and not carry a board on-top. Beautiful smile from the girl at 0.20, cheered my day .:)

    Yes, I recently traveled with three inflatables to the East Coast and to Canada and was just charged regular luggage fees. I had three piece paddles, pumps and leashes and everything else in the bags.

    you put in a little bit of work for the convenience of an inflatable but honestly if a person is too lazy to spend 5 to 10 minutes pumping up a board they probably wont enjoy paddling anyways. i have both epoxy and inflatable boards...they each have their use. not everyone wants to drop 1000 dollars plus on a red paddle co inflatable....also its not that much more work to pump it up with a standard hand pump and most inflatables these days are all decent quality and plenty stiff. looks like a nice board.

  • @blueplanetsurf
    @blueplanetsurf  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, they are good for beginners, the biggest advantage is the portability. You will want to choose one of the bigger models- 10'6 x 32" or 11'0 x 34" to start on. Mahalo!

    The material of our boards is really tough, a dogs nails won't damage the board although the deck pad is made of a softer EVA material that can get scratched by dogs (this is the case on both inflatable and rigid boards).

    Just to let everyone know, we no longer offer the electric pump shown in the video. We found that for the price (over $200), it was just not worth it. The maximum pressure reached was not high enough and we found it prone to break down. The included hand pump works fine, you just have to take your time and get the pressure up to 15 psi for best results.

    So, you just leave the backpack, pump, etc., laying on the grass/beach? No way to take with you so it doesn't get stolen?

      +Tina Wilcher if you don't have a car you could strap the bag and pump to the board.

    Hi what glue do you use to repair with as there is none supplied in repair kit. Thanks

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to use PVC repair glue. Please note that blown out seams can't be repaired this way, only small punctures. This video is helpful: th-cam.com/video/k53MvOMMzak/w-d-xo.html

      AIRTON CARLOS Hi Airton, there were some quality issues with the electric pump shown and we no longer sell these pumps. We recommend using the hand pump.

      There are many 15-20 psi electric pumps on Amazon. I bought a 15 psi pump and it works well.

    how could you mount the GoPro cam on the board?? tell me please

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used a stick on mount and secured it with extra duct tape and a tether. I have not been able to permanently mount a gopro mount on an inflatable board. The flexing and stretching from inflating, deflating and rolling up causes stick on mounts to fail quickly. We have been working with our manufacturer on manufacturing and installing a gopro mount with flexible PVC base to install on all our new inflatable boards but it's still a work in progress.

      You might be able to use a suction mount:shop.gopro.com/EMEA/mounts/suction-cup/AUCMT-302.html
      I don't have any experience but would have thought it would stick as long as the board is inflated enough and the surface is smooth and clean. I'd use a tether as a backup too.

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** The surface of an inflatable board is not smooth enough to use suction cup mounts, the nylon threads holding together the top and bottom sheets create a slightly puckered surface that suction cups can't stick to unfortunately.

      Here's an idea for mounting a GoPro. Get a right piece of plastic and mount the GoPro mount t9 n use the board cargo nets/cables to go across the rigid board. That way the mounting board is sitting flush with the surf board and the go pro is on its proper mount.

      Well.. it IS a pain in the ass to get to 14 PSI.

    • @goodshipharmony
      @goodshipharmony 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy lots of electric pumps that take it all the way to 15 psi - and they can deflate the board really quickly as well.
