Total weight doesn't really matter. Weight over the valve is what matters.

Very interesting. I weighed the (Chinese?) SS and Scorpion aluminum ones I have and got 227 SS vs 199 aluminum. That was without the polylocks, and mine are 1.73 versions for canted-valve Fords (Boss/Cleveland). Yours before you added the locks were 212 vs 191. A little surprising, but maybe the higher ratio dictates a little more mass? Dunno, but interesting. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I don't think of the locks as part of the moving mass the springs have to control. Besides, I use rocker stud girdles, and those locks are big & heavy compared to "normal" ones. Thanks for the informative video.

The locks do not move, that weight only means strength, no hp penalty to it. The weight on the valve tip is the main thing, and the stainless has less mass there at the same strength. It’s all relatively moot

Rocker arm weight is not the issue heavier stainless are more durable for higher lift cams

Have a set of Isky aluminum1.5's for 40 years on 3 different street engines. Weighed them after seeing your video. They weigh 158 without locks. You would think a 1.6 would weigh less since the pushrod pocket is closer to the bearing centerline the rocker could be shorter.
