Oliva was pretty good. 3 batting titles. His numbers tapered off because of 8 knee surgeries. So a lot of people don’t realize how good he was because he doesn’t have the big career totals.
of course this guy would say "they would try to break their armor". he grow up playing with rocks! it is true they were a different breed of players back in the day
The investment by owners are different. Protecting players is key now because hundreds of millions of dollars are at risk. No different than Protecting a QB in football.

And good power.
Oliva was my dad's nextdoor neighbor growing up. So gald to see he made it in the hall this year 💯
Tony Olivia belongs in the hall of fame. He came up late in his career
wish granted!
Loved watching Rod Carew hit, he and Tony Gwynn

Players in the 60s in my opinion were the best. They were smarter, less spoiled, had a better grasp of the game and worked harder.
He's such a beast in mlb the show 20. I have him as my lead off hitter batting .448
Rod Carew would hit .400 today...in his sleep
Tony Oliva was pretty damn fine. .304 in his era is very impressive.
Rod knows a little bit about hitting... He was amazing.
Just a little 😉

😂 dude is a Legend
“They need to get drilled “
Mr.Padre Tony Gwynn
Cool
Barry Bonds is the greatest hitter ever and it's not even close.
That’s laughable at best
Juiceheads don't count.
Agree
@SheepOfChrist818 ted suck
He had the best run for about 5 years but was obviously juiced...and yes that made a difference. So not sure how you rank him.
So his opinion was Tony Olivia , a teammate and a mentor .
Damn analytics is ruining the game
Tony Gwynn is the best of ALL TIME; if anyone says different they are iddiots 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
