The bit where he begins to smile... usually the middle section when performing live, he'd be on his feet with a mike working the audience etc.. The bit with the smile is where he normally would return to the piano to finish out the song from the keys. Essentially that smile is "almost home and back in familiar territory after a long journy".
Got to see Marc do a full Queen show with Black Jacket Symphony in Walhalla SC bout 6 months ago! If you closed your eyes, you would have thought it was Freddie!!! I'm still blown away!!! 😃
You are true music appreciators (new word?)! You get in there and dig! Love that! I'm a huge fan. I've probably listened and watched every interview Marc's ever done multiple times. He deconstructed this song years ago and made a video of it, probably similar to what Rick Beato has done (a TH-cam channel with great music appreciation vids, in case you don't know who that is). Marc has said on a few occasions that he might share this vid with his fans one day. He says he has become a lot better at performing the song since then. At his shows, he performs the middle part along with the recorded choir part, which he recorded in his studio entirely by himself, singing every harmony. He used that same track on his recorded version of BoRhap (it's on his Queen covers album, Thunderbolt and Lightning). During his working relationship with Queen's Roger Taylor when he was with Queen's official tribute band Queen Extravaganza (2012-2016), he learned a lot about it from the production angle.
I think that what made Freddie's voice so amazing is that he somehow used a Farsi(?) throat singing whenever he sang to get his resonance. I remember reading a scientific paper a while ago that talked about how they (the scientists) stuck a bunch of singers into mri machines and took scan as they sang, and it was only the throat singers who could get that resonance.
He pretty much just sang the isolated Freddie vocals brilliantly! The other members are doing their parts as well in that section which is why it sound so random with just Freddie’s part
@@Freedum_Fries, they actually used "vocal layering" with Marc's voice, to bring the quality of Freddie's original magnetic tape analog tracks up to modern digital standards for Dolby Atmos, unless they already had a REALLY good vocal track for it, from Freddie. He did have a couple solo spots, when there were songs or parts of songs they wanted in the movie for which they didn't have a Freddie track.
@@Freedum_Fries from what I read they mixed his voice with Master tapes of Freddy so that's why I was wording it as he didn't do 100% of the vocals it was a at times blended
Travis & Susie heres the crazy thing , Marc never set out to be a Freddie tribute singer or imitator. He was a musician for years and friends & fans would tell him that he sounded a lot like Freddie so he started doing more Queen songs and here we are today. Many feel that Queen should hire him to sing for them. Brian May & Roger Taylor both have stated though that when choosing a singer that they DID NOT want a dead ringer copy of Freddie because it would be too emotional for them to hear that then not see Freddie onstage. Another wild thing is thst Marc has a similar lower jaw structure to Freddie which may help his ability to sound like him.
The only difference between Marc and Freddie, is that Freddie Was a Rockstar, he lived as a rockstar, he didnt Take care of his voice. Marc sounds like Freddie Without that experiences on his voice. Marc take care of his voice.
Yeah, Freddie was a heavy smoker so in certain live shows his voice was shot sometimes (still put on a show regardless & was incredible). It’s just the lifestyle choices did change his voice a bit, mainly in the 80’s. But later in his career Freddie sounded amazing from 89-91, even on his last legs. Queen ending tours/live shows in the late 80’s (due to Freddie’s condition at the time) gave Freddie’s voice sometime to take a break.
@@JoshCarlos1998 yeah, thats anoche point, Freddie was a Heavy Smoker... Marc I think is... how can i soy... well is more profesional, and take care of his voice. Thats why they will never sound sxactly the same. I think.
@@ConcierTitosxD Marc’s mentioned in interviews that he takes good care of his voice. There was one point where he lost it for a bit, I think it was because he got sick or something in like late 2019 or early 2020ish right before the lockdowns (he’s said he didn’t get tested so do what you will with that information). Or it could’ve been the insane touring schedule he was a part of, he’s talked about how 2019 was one of his most busiest years as a performer. But since then he’s been taking care of his vocals carefully, he doesn’t take it for granted that’s for sure. Which is smart.
I love how he uses the piano on this song to "fill in" the other parts he's not able to sing. It's genius!
He's amazing. I found this song when it has 45M views not long time ago.. and now it's over 51M...

He sing look like Freddie
You should listen to Raphael Mendes, The Brazilian Bruce Dickinson. He is mindblowing.
Hello
Bring that DNA test, put a mustache on him hmmm. His chin and cheekbones remind me of Freddie but Marc's face is fuller
I wish people didn’t think you have to scream and act obnoxious to seem engaging.
