Let's discuss the new plot following Dragon Ball Daima. In it, we hear about the new Demon King that replaced Dabura after Dabura went to Heaven. There is a plot to overthrow this new Demon King as there is a desire for new power. Goku and the Supreme Kai fight against this. I feel like Broly’s success, Super Hero’s success and the constant begging from fans online should’ve been more than enough incentive to bring back Super.

How much revenue loss the series cost Toei will decide the return of Super. This series is being created as another source of income, by way of younger viewership. And the eventual income generated from toy sales. Adult collectors will buy related collectibles, even if they hate the program.
DB Diama delving into the Demon Realm sounds like a great plot. The Demon Realm was always an interesting anomaly in Dragon Ball that was never fully recognized by Toriyama until recently.
Toriyama passes away with this being his last work and they choose not to properly promote it? That's messed up especially considering that Akira actually was more involved in this show

GT was a limited series and it left a lot of people wanting more for side characters (Goku time!) but didn’t actively make a joke of every character below like Super did

Missed opportunity to give Goten and Trunks a mini series instead of turning Goku and crew back into kids.
It’s because goten and kid trunks suck. Goku and vegeta kicking ass as kids with nerfed powers is infinitely better than goten and trunks in high school
@Hazer25 and that's where we disagree. I and many others are tired of the goku and Vegeta show( especially the return to kids Gt already did it). Goten and trunks haven't had the chance to develop character wise because the writers of dragonball can't seem to focus on multiple characters in a meaningful way. They are essentially clean slates that a good writer would say the skies the limit.
@@btl_donlife me and my friend were talking about a series with Goten, trunks, pan, and uub as the main characters. Trunks and pan being the reasonable ones somewhat. Goten being kind of a “dumb” character. And uub being kind of awkward, not knowing with how to deal with being a demon reincarnation. THAT would be amazing. Somehow writing goku vegeta gohan and piccolo out of the story, you could make the kid characters really shine. But as it is it’s too late to do anything with goten and trunks besides just ass pulling a transformation or something during a fight in the future chapters of super.
Missed Opportunity? They tried with the manga and nobodys interested. I'll pass on the Sayaiman duo bs. If Toriyama felt it was feasible he would of done it.
I’m glad people are giving it a chance instead of baselessly bashing the series when it’s not even out. I knew Daima would be interesting since they did say it’s going back to the roots of how original dragon ball was.
The thing about the Black Frieza arc is that I'm really skeptical, if even that will please the fans at this point.
Black Frieza was revealed in August 2022. With how much time has passed, everyone's expectations are probably sky-high for that arc (especially since we had a polarizing arc after Morro and a boring one) to the point where when we do actually get there, it may end up being disappointing.
Black Frieza arc will probably start next year tbh. I think Toyo might focus on Goku and Pan interactions and Goku sparring with Piccolo this year.
Doubt anyone would want another Goku-Vegeta centered show again even if they’re kids. Goku and Kaioshin play for a new, unique dynamic that could be funny

I personally don't mind with Supreme Kai being a main character, as long he's well written. I feel they kind of did him dirty in Z, really underwhelming. So this would be a great chance to redeem him. But I'm not holding my breath honestly. Super was meh with some good moments to me.
I wouldn't even want Kid Goku and Kid Vegeta because at that point it should just be Super as the main dynamic doesn't change. It's similar to me as black Frieza where I'm not excited as I'm tired of them rehashing Frieza yet again and in a similar dynamic against Goku & Vegeta.
Instead, I'd rather have a rotating cast of the lesser used characters. Use those Earthlings considering everyone is probably weakened to a set level but alas, hopefully they make Supreme Kai an entertaining character I guess?
The aspect of exploring the Demon realm, whilst having been done outside the main series a plethora of times, could be good interesting to see here but the thing holding Daima back the most for me is the target audience being even younger. Makes me question how much they're gonna dumb-down concepts considering we had "tingling back" in Super.

I know the hype around Diama is kinda bad right now, but Im waiting for that last month leading up to the release. Maybe they dont want to start the hype and the talk about the show too early for whatever reason.

When Dabura was sent to heaven there was only one hell, which Dabura would have become ruler of. Super retconned a ton of stuff, so Frieza gets a personalized hell separate from actual Hell, even though he shouldnt even keep his body.

@@Senwa_Zenno According to the Manga Friezas hell is a district in hell, and according to FighterZ and Xenoverse (which is of course canon only to its own timeline) Cell and Towa were also sent there. Which makes less sense since Towa is Daburas sister

They could always say that the Z fighters lost their powerups and half of their power, which is why they can't go super saiyan, or use their other transformations. Essentially, they'd all go back to square one once they're children, but since the Supreme Kai isn't mortal per say, he doesn't lose any of his power which would make him more of an asset in this series. Plus, his expertise in this matter would help too like you said. I think it's a shame they're not promoting this more considering Toriyama did pass away recently. And if not for him, Toei animation and others wouldn't have the success they're enjoying today arguably.
Either way, I think this series will be a lot better than people are expecting it to be. The only issue I have with it is where does this take place within the timeline? And secondly, did Toriyama actually intend for this series to end after only one season? Or was this supposed to be an ongoing series too? If it's the latter, then we may not get the conclusion Toriyama wanted considering his passing unless he left cliff notes for people to follow. And even in that instance, it's debatable if the people doing Daima would still follow said cliff notes or not to wrap up the series. I truly hope this series was meant to only last one season, so we can see the conclusion Toriyama presumably wanted for it, but we'll see.
shin is my favorite character and i will defend him to the grave (as an og fan). i will talk about his character for hours if you let me. i think he gets such a bad rep because he is pretty much put to the side after his introduction in Z, and then the plot things he could do in Super are just done by other characters instead, or he's the character that goku and beerus bully for his taxi service and potara lol (the manga does him so much better in super damn). shin's biggest detriment to his character is his inexperience, but his drive and compassion to serve his universe is there in spades, which makes beerus such a good contrast (excellent at his job, but no motivation) and also just explains a lot about what's going on with universe 7 in general, which is sometimes held together with duct tape. but that's OUR universe!
shin is the perfect supreme kai for universe 7 because he is incredibly imperfect, but a huge part of dragon ball is how training and working to improve-- despite the cards you're dealt-- can make you excellent. shin is a great example of a character who has been dealt bad cards, and he needs the story focus to grow past those hurdles. mostly, i would just love people to appreciate him the way i do. i don't read fanfic or anything; all i love about shin is just from what i've read and watched officially. his philosophy about free will and the potential to improve after experiencing despair/tragedy is exactly how he became the supreme kai in the first place, and it's something he applies to his job. i would be elated to get more opportunities to see this and how he both resonates and contrasts with goku
despite my essay there, i'm cautious about the reports about him being a larger character in this series since there's been nothing official stated. what i would love to see is very much hopium and i'm well aware shin is not as popular, but i do think he deserves some spotlight when it comes to universal matters. let it be known i will absolutely lose my mind if he is a major character though because he could bring SO MUCH to the table. i very much enjoy the changes made in the future trunks saga in the super manga vs. what was in the anime, more of that please, more chances for shin to do his job and learn and grow. getting more demon realm and universe lore and all that would be so peak also

Could be that they don’t care about the marketing because they know a majority of the fans just aren’t that interested in a show like this. So why waste the money lol.
Like if I had to guess…this entire show was really just Toriyamas pet project and because he’s the creator they don’t have much say in the matter regardless of whether or not they actually believe in the show. They couldn’t deny him the show then and they definitely can’t now. So they will just do the bare minimum on any task related to the show and probably move on as quickly as possible.
I’ll be the first to admit that I am not interested in this show at all. I love Dragon Ball, I want the show to be great, I want it to do well. I want to love it. I just don’t have faith in what I have seen or heard it that it will be good. And I hope I’m wrong.
I assume many others feel this way including the majority of the dragon ball staff. So they will drop the show and then try to move on as quickly as possible now that Toriyama is gone. Hence the lack of advertisement. They don’t want to “waste” money on what many believe will be a lackluster production.
or maybe Toei has other animes to advertise that are releasing first since Daima is only releasing at the end of the year which means they have lots of time to promote it

Shin is most likely in charge for the journey to the demon realm since he has the most knowledge about it. He probably didn't want vegeta because he had seen first hand how easily vegeta got tempted by power from an evil mage.Evil mages can be found in the demon realm. Majin vegeta was killing innocent people in front of shin. Why would he would want someone like that in the demon realm? Also, in the latest xv2 dlc and heroes anime, vegeta still gets easily corrupted.

Honestly at this point if they just made the moro arc, granolah arc and the potential black frieza arc into just a trilogy of movies i would be fine with that. Would be pretty poetic in a way too, dragon ball made it's grand return with 2 movies and can end with movies. Daima sounds pretty interesting and im just looking forward to any new dragonball content even if it's not exactly something i would prefer

I’m excited for Daima, but not that much. The premise is very strange to say the least. The characters are kids and we are exploring a concept that probably could have been done 15/20 years ago with the Demon Realm.
I think the animation will be beautiful, considering how One Piece has been looking lately, along with Dragon Quest Dai a few years ago. The fight scenes will also probably be decent. The story, I will just wait until later to give my final opinion.

People wanting the Moro and Granolah arc animated is mostly online English fans. I haven't seen or heard the JP fanbase say much about it and are excited for Daima for the most part. I am sure a large part of this is JP read manga more than watch anime, so they don't feel this pressing need to see their manga animated like western fans seem to.

DB hasn't been an action adventure comedy for nearly 40 years now. Trying to combine that with the action of Z via Super failed, on top of just destroying the character development of everyone, with a generally terrible set of stories.
Daima is Dragon Ball Babies, since it's even more childish looking than anything in the OG Dragon Ball.
