I am always surprised by how much I forget whenever we have a new puppy staying with us. I have to watch my own videos as reminders for preparation lol
Could you make a video about living in a condo apartment with a new pup? In Vancouver a lot of us live in high rise condos. Your tips would be valuable
We live in Alaska and came to Michigan for Christmas to visit family. We picked up our labradoodle but I’m not wanting to wake a whole house of people by crate training the puppy. He is 9 weeks old. I’m not sure how to help. I don’t want to have to unteach bad habits but he is sleeping with my kiddo tonight although that won’t be the case moving forward. I have to get a new crate tomorrow as the one I got I think is too small.
Hi Claire, A question about avoiding stairs. We can easily restrict our puppy from using the staircase between our 1st and 2nd floors, but our main floor has small 2-3 step stairs into the living room and family room. Is it okay to help our puppy learn to manage these before six months, or should we be avoiding all stairs? Thanks for these terrific videos to help us think through issues before our little Raynebow Rhapsody chocolate drop joins our family!
And also I am thinking of getting a laderdoodle from you in a while so (like 5 years) oof any ways how long will you be in Bisness the reson why I am waiting awhile is cau in not moved out yet and I need to research more adout them I learned my leason!!!!!CAN YOU DO A LIVE STEAM OF LABERDOODLE AND AUSTRALIAN LADERDOODLE
Yes that would be very confusing and too difficult for a puppy to understand. Consistency is key for everything when teaching a puppy. That remains true when your dog is an adult as well. Adult dogs would be confused and unhappy if they were allowed on the bed during the day but not at night. Having said that, you can teach your puppy/dog that going on a certain piece of furniture is allowed or not allowed. That they are well able to learn and understand. But they would not be able to distinguish between being allowed at one time and not at another time.
If you live in North America and are honest you can to a degree but not with complete certainty. In every litter the degree a puppy is allergy friendly will vary from puppy to puppy. In every person, their reaction to a dog will vary as well. For instance, you may be entirely fine with a puppy and have no reaction whereas someone else with an allergy to dogs may react to the same puppy. To further complicate things, some people are actually allergic to the saliva of the dog as opposed to the coat. So, choosing a dog with a tight curl and wool coat which is considered to be the most allergy friendly for Australian Labradoodles, may not necessarily work for some people if the saliva is the issue. Similar to the dander/coat varying from puppy to puppy within a litter in terms of how allergy friendly it is, saliva also varies. The University of Stockholm has a test available wherein you are able to submit hair and saliva samples from a puppy to determine the degree of allergy response that puppy will produce overall. There is no such test yet available in North America that I am aware of. Allergies and asthma are a tough go when you want to add a dog to your family. It is often successful with an Australian Labradoodle, and some other breeds too but there truly is no guarantee or way to predict whether it will be successful or not ahead of time.
We have been raising puppies since 1981 and have 2 part-time staff to help us out. It is a lot of work and takes a lot of time but it is such a joy that it is never hard at all.
Hi there, we offer them for sale through Curated Canines, our other business. However, if you live much outside of BC, the shipping is quite expensive. If your Google donut beds for dogs in your area though you may find some other options.
Okay thanks so much. I'm loving your videos so much! Preparing for my Queenie Australia Labradoodle pup mid July. Thank you so much for the quick response.

Thanks for the great info. Can you please let me know where you purchased the beds you use? Thanks.
does it confuse the puppy if you allow them to be on the bed but just not at night time to sleep

really helpful. Thank you.
I hope you find the entire series helpful between now and your gotcha day!
You're an experienced breeder. Do you find its possible to forecast the level of "hypoallergenicness" of a puppy?
If you live in North America and are honest you can to a degree but not with complete certainty.

My doodle has green eyes is that bad
Hi there, no, green eyes don't occur very often but they aren't anything bad. What colour is your dog?
@@VanIsleDoodles like a tan like a yellow lab and her mom was a very beautiful chocolate lab and her dad was a white standard poodle
Then green is entirely appropriate!
@@madieashton4238 totally appropriate although rare.
