Incredible that the door was opened right where you needed it to be! Divine intervention!! Awesome job as usual brother! More history saved for posterity
I love getting to see the inside of these arenas and different places Elvis played his concerts. I could just hear him singing now . Thanks Trey !! That's real neat !!
My best friend is from West Monroe and met Elvis twice there. His mother was good friends with J.D. Sumner and J.D. got them tickets twice and took them to meet Elvis. It was at one of those shows my friend said that Elvis had given a scarf to a little girl and some grown woman took it from her and it made Elvis very mad so he gave the little girl a necklace or a ring I believe. I haven't talked to my friend in a while about this but I am pretty sure that is what he told me. He lives in Bossier City now so I don't get to see him much since I live in Kansas. He lost his sight about 10 years ago so he has no way of watching this. I sure wish he could.
Hey Trey. I'm from West Monroe LA just across the river from Monroe. I was at his concert in 1975 and I couldn't believe that I was actually seeing my hero Elvis on that stage! Unbelievable! I was 13!
I was there in 74 and was thrilled to see Elvis for the first time he was fabulous and to this day the best concert I’ve ever seen!!! I walked up to the stage and remembered looking up at him he was absolutely gorgeous and I could only stare with my mouth open!!!😍
Great video. I was born raised and stayed here in Monroe and was at one of the shows in 75. I was 14 but will never forget it and feel blessed that I got to see the King. Thanks man.
Trey, If you think this place looks like a spaceship, check out the University of Illinois Assembly Hall (State Farm Center now.) Elvis played there in Oct 1976, to a sell out crowd of almost 18,000 people. I believe Elvis still holds the attendance record. My mom and dad went to the concert but they wouldn’t take me because I was only 7 years old. Every time I’m in that building, I think of Elvis.
I was there 1975! Worked as a lineman at the airport. Got to meet Elvis, he let all the lineman get on his plane and eat dinner at midnight. Elvis walked on the south corner to get on the stage
That would make sense for Elvis to have been in that dressing room area like I filmed.. I found footage of him leaving the stage from the south corner as well.
I am from Monroe, and still live within an hour of the Civic Center. My mother attended each of Elvis shows from both 74 and 75, and our neighbor was the sales manager at the Cadillac dealer that provided the cars for Elvis transport from airport to hotel, and such while he was here, incidentally, that hotel is still standing, just across the highway from the Civic Center. There were many great shows through the years, Ted Nugent, The Jackson Five, Molly Hatchett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Leppard, Hank Williams Jr, Charlie Daniels, Reba McIntore, Alabama, lots of great shows. Incidentally, Elvis played in West Monroe, back in 1955, at West Monroe High School, as well.
I don’t recall 74 or 75. My parents were members of Jaycees. I and my 2 older sisters helped roll posters. I remember the President of the Jaycees taking me by the hand to fill an empty seat on front row inside aisle of right side of floor seats. Wow! Front row seat. Elvis handed me a purple scarf which I later gave to my sister. About 8 yrs ago my business bottled a product for a gentleman by the name of Duke Bardwell. Duke played bass guitar for Elvis at that time. It truly is a small world!! Elvis also played at West Monroe High School. Way before my time though.
I was there for one of those concerts.I was 14 or 15 years old. I was mesmerized. The flash cubes going off when he came on stage were blinding. I was shocked how crazy the adult women were acting. Screaming and jumping up and down. He gave away a piece of jewelry to someone. In my memory it was a little girl- but I could be wrong. Thanks for the memories. I now feel the need to go to my storage unit and find my ticket stub.
While you were at the Arena did you see any employee? Great video work showing the different aspects of the venue. I hope you show more Elvis concert locations.
Como siempre, fantástico, me encanta como fusionas las fotos de donde a estado Elvis, con las Imágenes en la actualidad, me encanta, muchas gracias por todo 👏👏👏👏👏
Go Monroe:5 times you got to experience an Elvis Presley concert. I was 21 in 1974... So many people got to see Elvis in person. I experienced him through the medium of radio; recordings,: films Television shows ...👑💦💥💜
I was at the 1974 concert when he gave a little girl his necklace after a woman snatch a scarf from her. We had seats to the right of the stage upper level. It was a perfect view to all the excitement. I still remember him finishing a song and him doing a “No look” throw of his guitar to a stagehand behind him! Perfectly executed!
Wow Trey! This video gave me goosebumps. Doesn’t look like this building changed at all, can only imagine how you feel being there in person...no one brings us these great videos but the globetrotter himself- thanks again brother- -TCB Frankie’Elvis’👍👍👌⚡️
Another Great Video Trey. Elvis Played So Many Places in his Short Career. I Saw him in the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, Utah. Around 74. I believe he played another time before maybe 72. Thanks
@@GlobetrottingWithTrey No The Place The Utah Jazz Play is a Newer Arena Called Vivint Smart Home Arena. The Salt Palace where Elvis Played was Built in 1969 and torn down in 1996 for a New Salt Palace Convention Center. With Expansions nearly One Million Square ft. The Same Ground as the Old Salt Palace.
What a wonderful video ...on march 8 , 1974 my cousin was sitting on the third row and saw Elvis put a gold emerald cross around a little girls neck....found out later her name was rhonda boler 5 years old
This is such a cool building, it is unique looking to say the least. I love seeing inside of these arenas and I love seeing where all Elvis played. I can imagine how charged the air was in that arena, when Elvis was in a building....well it just was a feel like no other I would imagine. Sadly I never got to see him in person, but I can only imagine as his persona was bigger than life itself. No one has every had his charisma or persona, he was one of a kind for sure. Yes, I can just image him strutting across that stage and singing his songs. I can feel the charge of the air too. lol I can imagine, but yet I can't. Elvis is indeed a legend! Elvis will always be loved I think. I'm glad the building is still being used for concerts today and that it hasn't changed much. Thanks Trey, this was a good one!
My first concert ever was at one of those shows. I was 4 at the time so one of the 75’ shows. It has always looked like that. Nothing apparently never changed except the marquis out front.
On Elvis' 87th birthday I shared with fans a 8mm film I made at the May 1975 concert in Monroe, Louisian. I've seen other films from that show but my copy is perhaps the last one to surface after 47 years.
Obrigada !!!!
I’m ending my day with Trey.... I can picture him standing there...Elvis not Trey....I’m glad you didn’t have to use your prior experiences of “ breaking and entering”....I wish I’d been in that “beautiful audience”. ....wish I could have gotten in there, I’d be crawling on my hands and knees in that civic center, looking for any evidence of him being there!! You saved me the trip!!
Only 7,600 seats. Even with floor seating, that probably doesn’t get to 10,000. Once again, fewer shows to bigger crowds would have been better for his health.
I thought the photo of Elvis at 7:13 on stage that you lined up was amazing at how perfect it lined up. Then i looked closer and you have to admit there was a little photo editing. Some of the photo fades a way and the beams and railing show through which is the current parts of the video.
Fantastic video dude, congratulations!!!!!!!!! I love those 1974 and 75 Monroe shows. Do you know where the exact address of the torn down Ramada Hotel where he stayed? Always wanted to know that. Thank you anyway. Marcelo.
Interesting video but for someone who is getting into video production and narration, I would work on your enunciation. Cun-cert? Sowed out shows? Rock and row? Not being mean at all. I get the Bama drawl, but I think your videos would be more professional sounding. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work. (I teach voice and diction, and have done radio for decades, so the spoken word is important to me.)
Thanks for the advice Mark. It’s just how I talk.. like Matthew McConaughey I guess.. I have my own pronunciation.. lol some love it though, others don’t..

Hi Trey,
That was so interesting. I can just imagine screaming girls waiting to get a glimpse of Elvis. Once again Trey great stuff xxx 💝
Last concert I saw there was Air Supply in '82. I feel 👴 old. ✌🇺🇸
I was at the March 74 show. Drove down from Little Rock. Never experienced such an electricity at a concert before. Awesome show and looked great.
