Unreal that they would take the TV out of Elvis' bedroom and auction it off. He had a beautiful desk in his library upstairs that RCA gifted him. Thank you Trey for letting us see the TV up close and for helping to keep Elvis' memory alive.
I was at the London Elvis exhibition recently ,and what I really loved was that cream corduroy suit he wore getting out of helicopter in hawaii, I just remembered how good he looked meeting the crowd, he looked better than he did in the concert , obviously it was slso great to see the Vegas gold belt too and all the other suits and things on display
Trey does a great job , lets be honest we have learned so much about Elvis from Trey and billy , places he went things he done , that has made Elvis more human.
It's a pleasure Tray, hope I get to memphis one day , in 61 now and been a fan from a child, I was at home with my parents at 14 years of age when the news came on he passed away I cried all night and prayed it was not true ,I even use to play sick to stay of school to watch his movies if they came on tv , I like many I guess wanted to be him , he seemed so.perfect and oh man his voice , I even thought at one time can he really be human
It is very peculiar that the TV was removed from Elvis Sacred Bedroom, Wandering Way? “If walls could talk”! I would assume that Elvis Up In Heaven is not to happy about that ! Thank You Trey we enjoyed the video as always. Arrivederci!
Hi Trey, Your awesome. It's so funny because when I was a kid I remember my dad never liked Robert Goulet. Love your videos Trey. Thanks so much for keeping us Elvis fans posted. ❤❤❤
What possible reason would they have to remove the tv from his room? It’s a bit disheartening to be told his room is completely untouched and left Exactly as Elvis had last seen it then to find out that’s not quite true!
The room was cleaned when he died. There was a film crew there. Doesn’t the family stay in the room? It’s been touched. However, I wish the TV had stayed in his room.
Yes you wonder what is in the house now compared tobshen Elvis died, I think the estate bought things back from people that was thire originally if I remember, I'm sure the house does not contain 50 or 60 per cent of what was thire when Elvis died , its like the cars in the collection , Elvis did not have all of them at time of death , I often wonder why all the suits where kept , I mean like leather from special and other suits from it , he did not wear them , if we look at the complete collection where was all this stuff when he died certainly not in graceland , I know they said suits was in parkers house , who knows
Thanks Trey love those old tv’s! Always wondered why Elvis shot out his TV’s! No real purpose in that just change the channel or turn it off! I’m sure there was smoke! I would think it smelled awful! Dangerous! TCB⚡️
tcb9923 I don't remember seeing the TV when I was at Graceland. Though I do know that items from Elvis bedroom have toured the world in exhibits. I both seen, and took pics of the items that E had in the room which included books and an ornamental statue of christ from his bedside table at the O2 arena in London
@@GlobetrottingWithTrey I think we're all just wondering why? It should never have happened. Who removed it? I think it just seems strange to is. Thanks for the video Trey. Maybe more investigating would do the trick, if you or Billy had time. God bless and stay safe.
Great video! The RCA 2000 was 100% Solid State, so no vacuum tubes, and that was unheard of in 1969. Solid state color sets would not be widely available until around 1973-74. The 1960 set was a combo unit with AM/FM stereo and turntable, but it was black and white. That was just before RCA introduced their first color combination unit for the 1961 model year. Elvis had owned a color set since the mid 50's, however. That's the one still on display in the Music Room.
So it seems the BIG question (after reading all these comments) is why they sold or auctioned the TV in 1978. Perhaps another piece of the Elvis puzzle that is just around the corner. Great vid by the way, Trey. I never knew his TV had been taken away. It's a beauty of a set. I think maybe Elvis would probably shoot up today's TV's just for the heck of it. They're not nearly as expensive as those huge monsters back then - and there's so many darn channels to look at now - he'd probably get pissed off with how much crap there is to watch and nothing really to see ... then BANG BANG BANG... "Somebody, get WalMart to deliver me 15 more right now." Anyway - again - really interesting post. You always have the most interesting Elvis vids out there (and Billy, too). Until the next one, take care!
Hi Tray i loved the Bahamas Elvis story billy done , I think it was colm Wilkinson, who went on to theatre himself in Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera, he was performing at a hotel in the Bahamas as the lead singer in an Irish showband called The Witnesses. When Elvis came to stay in the Paradise Island hotel, I wonder if he is still alive , would be great interview about that night
Your welcome man , I was chatting to Billy about it and how i enjoyed his video, hey Tray I loved it when you said you vecame a fan from that's the way it was , who could not it was mesmerising, you could not take your eyes of him
Hi Trey, awesome video! I remember when I was young my dad never liked Robert goulet. I don't think Elvis's room is like when he passed away. I read that a couple of maintenance guys were called to fix fix something upstairs and it was empty. There was nothing up there. I pray that is not true. But, we will never know. Trey your the best and thank you!!❤❤ 8:10
So this dispells Gracelands claim that nothing in Elvis' room has been touched since he died. The TV being is a fairly large part of someone's bedroom, especially if your claiming nothing has been changed. Really make me wonder if there is anything left upstairs at all.
Just out of curiosity, I ask this same question as others have. When they say the upstairs is precisely the way Elvis left it, untouched, yet there are clearly things from his office and also his bedroom that have been moved and out on display. I just don't understand how it can be both. Could you clarify what they mean when they proclaim these statements? I am not at all trying to be argumentative, and I hope it does not appear like it; rather, this is really a question I have had a few times as well as others, as I can see in the comments. I am just not understanding the "contradiction". Thank you for helping us understand if you are able😃
I didn't really care for Robert Goulet so I understand Elvis not liking him. How was Elvis's bedroom untouched after his passing if the tv you are talking about was the one in his room ?! Graceland Enterprise lying to us ?! Too bad Ms Lisa isn't around to answer this riddle for us. In the bigger scheme of things I guess it doesn't really matter. Great video Mr. Trey. Safe travels and adventures. God bless.
If his room was untouched, which according to Lisa Marie and many others as well, ( other than the clean up in his bathroom and maybe fingerprinting ) why is the tv that was gifted to him missing now. It was there when he died. Why would ghdy remove it from hix room, especially if it were something that Lisa knew was there. She's told many many times of how his room was her happy place. Where they spent a lot of time together. Where are all these other televisions he supposedly shot? It seems that very little that was and is associated with Elvis, again especially his personal property, if anything, is truly " missing" or unaccounted for . A lot of questions in my mind about this video.
Hi Trey, Another fantastic report well researched and presented. I can't help thinking Elvis sells 50 million records and the best RCA can do to show their appreciation is to present him with a television set!! Sounds like a terrible idea to me, if I had to show my appreciation to Elvis I think I would have presented him with a set of cutglass decanter and glasses inscribed to him I read once that the International Hotel did that though I've never seen any pictures, but it seems more appropriate than a television set. Lets throw this idea out there. If Elvis was still alive what would you Trey Miller present Elvis with now that he has sold over a billion records to date? I wonder what other Elvis fans would present him with??
So his bedroom does NOT remain how it was the day he passed. How many people know the way Graceland looks now is not how it was when he passed. Elvis never saw Graceland as it looks today. Wonder who did that?
I highly doubt he ever shot one with no one around the guys got a kick out of it. Now he did shoot the black toilet alone. My best buddies daddy was a tv repairman had a van he picked up bigger TVs with to repair at shop. I had a 19 inch color tv in my bedroom from 1969 till 1979ish. My grandmother that spoiled me told me when i was in my 30s she paid $600 + tax for the tv brand-new when i was 2 no remote control but a color tv. likely only one in my neighborhood at the time. Like $4000 today?2024
Trey why did you omit to tell us anything much about this television, like how big was the screen , Did it have a remote? How many channels could it receive and most importantly does it still work.
Y in the hell did they remove this tv set from his sacred bedroom? I thought everything was left "untouched" yea right!!! They probably sold it to a money hungry elvis collector. Damn shame! Put it back in his bedroom!!

Great video!!! 50,000,000 sold in 4 years, 2 of which Elvis was in the army. How many more records would Elvis had sold had he not been drafted?

Thanks Trey for this great Elvis story👍.
Elvis would love shooting these new hd tvs are u kidding me. The one 2000 tv u showed was the best of the best back then
I don’t know, I think he would second guess shooting the tvs out today… those are too nice.
That was one of my favorite videos you ever made. Keep up the good work, my friend.
Excellent Trey, much better presentation than those boring Graceland narratives from a certain female influencer.
Great job. ❤

I thought his room stays untouched...I didn't know they took his TV out. In which collection is it today ?

They take things out for display for a while and then put them back. The director Angie explained this one time.
WHY in the hell would they take the man's TV out of his house, and they tell US the fans that his bedroom is still the same.
This tv left in 1978… it’s been long gone
