While I was in Tennessee, I visited a Golden Corral with my gf and her kids. I had a plate of other items, but once I got to the fried fish, I couldn't eat anything else! The seasoning was perfect and so was the texture. Cooked absolutely to perfection! I probably had 3 big plates of nothing but fried fish with tartar sauce. Best fish I've ever had in my life. From a buffet, no less!

I asked for some malt vinegar, and they had never heard of it.🤔 Even though it's a staple at nearby Captain D's, Long John's, Red Lobster, and Cracker Barrel, they were clueless. Folks, if you're serving seafood, you MUST have tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and malt vinegar on hand.✔😎

My friend and I were at a GC the other night for dinner. I'm really surprised that their Pot Roast, Meatloaf, or their Macaroni and Cheese didn't make the list. All of these, in my humble opinion, tastes pretty good and are definitely worthy of a spot on this list.
My favorite thing that I like about Golden corral is we can get the food ourselves there and they don't have to give it to us we can get as much as we like plus I'm going there this Saturday for my birthday plus it's a big place they have good food and I just like how it looks smells so that's my most favorite thing about it
My Golden Corral faves are mini cheeseburgers (because I add mushrooms, grilled onions, and bacon) and fudge. I only go to Golden Corral for these items and they are deliciously in stock every time. Both locations I have visited are clean. Wait staff is attentive, too.

Add a generous amount of dressing (usually ranch, because it was available) and put it all on top of some dark leafy greens, and I'd be good to go as far as the salad course was concerned! :-) *sigh* I miss GC... the one in town here closed down.

My Golden Corral favorites are fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, pot roast, the salad bar, and yeast rolls. They used to have really good rotisserie chicken and rice too, but I didn’t see that the last time I went.
Unfortunately the one in North Richland Hills, Texas does the bare minimum as far as selections go. And their price is higher than ever. They're usually not bad though, quality wise.
I went to Golden Corral the other day for the first time in a long time and I realized they focus on 2 things. Salt & Sweet. Everything you eat there will either be salty or sweet. Though they probably won't approve or deny this I'm almost sure its a sales tacktick used to focus on the psychology of most desirable taste in food, salty and sweet. Honestly everything kinda of tasted the same. the saltyness of it all was confirmed when I spent most of the later hours of the night in the bathroom. Good Luck!
you failed to mention the 2 items I like at Golden Corral:1. Meatloaf 2. Spanish/Mexican rice, the Corral restaurant I go to has in my opinion the best of those items,plus their carrot cake is the best.
I used to drive clear across Kansas city metro until I found a golden corral I liked, the other buffet companies shut down, I'd drive from Overland Park to just west of liberty.
Used to have a Golden Corral on Ulmerton Ave in St Petersburg FL but they moved to Tampa and now we dont have any close . I miss them they had wonderful food.. 😢

Most off these delightful offerings are not available at the Mesa, AZ location on Cooper Rd. Much of this appears to be deceptive advertising as we go to this location frequently.
At my location in Hickory, NC, the pork barbecue, pot roast, meat loaf, steak fries, Virginia ham and chocolate chess pie are also excellent. The best dip for the seafood by far is the cocktail sauce with 4 limes squeezed and mixed into the sauce. Also, thanksgiving is a meal not to miss there if you have no other plans.

@BabbleTop The barbecue. The only problem is when they forget the barbecue sauce. I make sure to bring enough of a stomach to try all of the things I mentioned at least once, though, as well as the fried chicken and fried seafood with that cocktail and 4 limes (or lemons) mix. That chocolate chess pie is a perfect finisher, especially with a little hot fudge pool on one side of the pie and hot caramel pool on the other.
Is Golden Corral actually still in business? The one in my town has been closed since the Covid-19 scare and there are no signs that it will ever open again. As a matter of fact, almost every single buffet in my area was destroyed by the government's Covid restrictions.

The dessert bar at our Golden Corral was so torn apart from unattended kids making a mess of it - that you couldn't approach the dessert offerings as they had been torn apart and many were squashed and simply mushed.

We were steady Golden Corral visitors until they closed down because of the Covid. We live in the metro Atlanta area and there were two close to our home. The closest one has never opened and probably never will, but the other in Stockbridge on Hwy 138 we visited many times before the pandemic and once after it had reopened a month or two afterward. It was a total disaster. The price had gone up a good bit, but its quality has gone way down. The food selections were out on its better items a good bit with nothing but legs and thighs on its fried chicken. The breast is my all-time favorite. It appeared they were holding back so others coming up to the bar looking for food had to take the ones that were the least popular. The many times I had visited I would search for shrimp as well. All I ever noticed was pop corn shrimp, none as large as shown in this video. This video appeared to be set up being very few customers were shown in the background eating and the multiple choices of different varieties of the same food (chicken, fish, meat) only had one selection. We had been going every other week but since visiting around three or four months ago it will probably be still a long time before we decide to do so again.
Hello, I last went to Golden Corral in 2019 for Veterans Day. Free meal for me but I found out even back then the price had increased to $24.99. I was shocked when the female at my table mentioned the price. I went to the one in Jonesboro GA. The food was good but I found out in 2021 or 2022 that the Jonesboro Ga location would not reopen. I live in East Point so that area is not far from me. I really do Miss Ryan Steak House. I think their buffet food WAS really good-not the one in Riverdale GA though. I ended up with bloody fried chicken. The manager didn’t even offer an apology or a refund.
How about reopening the one in our area? (14225) COVID closed it but the quality had gone down too. Why even offer steak if it’s so tough you can’t get it down your throat?

I used to like the shrimp and fish [and the chocolate waterfall when that was still around], but now everything at Golden Corral doesn't taste good, with the exceptions of the desserts.
I missed golden corral's chocolate fondue, it's now discontinued because of the covid-19, but good news!, the are going to try to bring it back on October 2024, because that's the time next year covid-19 is almost gone.
The manager of my local Golden Corral instructs his grill chef to set the fire to about one candle heat. That chef just stands there pretending to cook these very rare steaks. Last time we ate there, our two meals and drinks cost 40 bucks. Just to experiment with the manager, I told the grill chef that I wanted one of the blood red steaks. When I got to my table, my entire steak was cold! I asked to see the manager, who said the grill has a hot side and a cold side. The next time we eat there, I plan to pile high three platefuls of meat, shrimp, and fish. Then, slather it all with ice cream and waste as much money’s worth of food as I can to get back at this manager that cheats his customers out of steaks.
I'm not setting foot inside a GC, sorry Jeff. That's just what my cholesterol and diabetes don't need is more fried food. I will stick to Popeyes if I need some shrimps or fried chicken

I live in East Point so that area is not far from me. I really do Miss Ryan Steak House. I think their buffet food WAS really good-not the one in Riverdale GA though. I ended up with bloody fried chicken. The manager didn’t even offer an apology or a refund.
I enjoy Golden Corral. I’m not a fan of the fish just about everything else is good. Really like the sirloin steak, ham, and mash potatoes.
How about reopening the one in our area? (14225) COVID closed it but the quality had gone down too. Why even offer steak if it’s so tough you can’t get it down your throat?

I missed golden corral's chocolate fondue, it's now discontinued because of the covid-19, but good news!, the are going to try to bring it back on October 2024, because that's the time next year covid-19 is almost gone.

How come Golden Corral in West Melbourn doesn't have food like that?
The manager of my local Golden Corral instructs his grill chef to set the fire to about one candle heat. That chef just stands there pretending to cook these very rare steaks. Last time we ate there, our two meals and drinks cost 40 bucks. Just to experiment with the manager, I told the grill chef that I wanted one of the blood red steaks. When I got to my table, my entire steak was cold! I asked to see the manager, who said the grill has a hot side and a cold side. The next time we eat there, I plan to pile high three platefuls of meat, shrimp, and fish. Then, slather it all with ice cream and waste as much money’s worth of food as I can to get back at this manager that cheats his customers out of steaks.
I'm not setting foot inside a GC, sorry Jeff. That's just what my cholesterol and diabetes don't need is more fried food. I will stick to Popeyes if I need some shrimps or fried chicken
Porkbelly0713: Pot roast, baked fish, roast chicken, grilled steak, liver & onions, pasta...they have much more than fried items!
They also have tons of hot vegetables & a phenomenal salad bar!
I just went to Corral after my uncle's passing & I was so fkd up I didn't wanna eat & only ate because I didn't want my granny to think I didn't appreciate her Paying

Two in Iowa, dang, my nearest one is a hour and a half away, the other is up by the Dakota borders. You'd think Des Moines or cedar rapids would have something.
