DIY $50 Cheap Recording Studio - How to Make a Studio in Your Room

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 ก.ย. 2024
- Today I made a super budget DIY Recording Studio for a little over $50! I have been getting into producing my own music lately just for fun, and I needed a better sound recording set up, so I went out to the hardware store and grabbed some stuff to make it happen! I got the idea from another TH-cam video and kind of played with it and made it my own, but feel free to tell me where I could use some improvements!
Blue Yeti Mic: amzn.to/2RhOVuL
Microphone shock mount: amzn.to/2nMFWpe
Acoustic foam: amzn.to/2naNIpH
Thank you for watching and see you next time!

I've been a home recording musician for quite a number of years now, did the whole band thing, played gigs and whatnot...I just found more satisfaction in home recording. I play rock/metal...guitar, bass, drums, keyboards...pretty much everything. My whole family are musicians, and my Grandpa (RIP) taught me everything I know. The home recording stuff I picked up and learned on my own by trial and error...and TH-cam of course. I can tell you right now, you are on the right track bro. You will still need a pretty good list of gear, but you're on the right track to getting there. I have a whole room full of recording gear...and I STILL find myself buying things that I can use in the studio. It's an "always buying stuff" hobby...lol. Just get ready...and hope the wife understands. Luckily mine does. So far so good on your purchases.
+Gun Slinger thank you for checking it out! I'm sure I will be buying a lot more for it over time lol
Oh, man. The DIYness of this is amazing. "We got to make the hole a little bit wider." *SMACK* "There we go."
aww your baby is so adorable
MultiZernaez u play roblox so shut the fuck up
The cool thing about your mic is that it picks sound in different patterns and there is a switch to change the patterns. For what looks like vocal recording of you . You want the pattern that looks like a head of a mushroom. Also I would suggest if you have a closet record with your back facing the back wall of the closet. If a closet is not available use a wall
He sound like Kermit the frog 🐸 if he didn't get his daily coffee ☕️
dwll
I like this creativity. I'm going to do this myself, this is a good ass idea!
Why tf u sound like mr.bean 😂😂😂
😂
😂🤧😂
XDDDDD
Lol...i tho its just me😅
I know he had me wondering what his music sounds like lol
It was a great setup in my opinion. The only thing youre missing is a popfilter for the Yeti.
put the booth facing to one the corners. this way it will catch the sound of the back and you won't have to build the back wall. try this and let me know.
Definitely needed that sunset picture, made the whole vid
Have you recorded anything with this so we can see if it worked?
Jaime Stone fuck u lmaoooo
@@jaimestone3835 Yo this is sooo friggin hilarious!
@@doranfrancis706 what’s they say?
He says 50 dollars, the Yeti microphone goes for around 100 dollars
Robert Hardt JR right? That’s the first thing I noticed..
Get the blue snowball ice. Found a used one for $20, and it has worked great.
I wish it went for $100 where I live
This was a cool video to watch. You kept the video moving along through the delays. Glad to see that the studio works and done on a minimum budget. Kudos.
I appreciate the feedback!
5:20 everytime when I gave up
pop filter. cheap upgrade that makes a huge difference. Foam ones on amazon for the yeti like $5. Mesh ones are better but $30-50
Cute little darling toddler! Thank you for sharing low cost solutions.
"I bought 72 square feet of this foam"
"6 12x12 squares"
This is why college matters
HAHA oh god i didnt even catch that. I thought 72 sq ft sounded a bit ridiculous but i didn't really think about it after i said it
and that's more like 10th grade geometry anyway
If you can't count to six by the time you're in geometry, you're gonna have a hard life!!! "How many 1 foot squares do you have, Timmy"? "6"!! "Good job Timmy, you have the same amount of square feet as your age".
They won't teach you that in college lol maybe like 9th, 10th grade at college they think you know that shit already
omg does no one realize 12" is a foot. The're 1 foot squares and he has 6 so 6 square ft
you should look up where to put foam for reflections before you stick it behind ya theres like weird rules to follow so it works well
Yeah i need to look into that too. The space where I have it I dont have a lot of room for anything behind me but once I get a bigger space I will be sure to check that stuff out. Thanks for watching!
YG PA
No problem dude thank you for this video i made one just like yours right after this and its been my cleanest vocals yet. keep it up.
Biggest gold mine in the history 12:36
You are the chillest person on youtube i've ever seen
hey dude nice vid but personally i would of used some plywood and some 2x4 to make the booth so you would have no gaps between the foam l
yeah, good thought! i literally put no planning into this lol so im sure there is a million better ways
Omg you have the Mic I've been dreaming about since birth 😍
This dude chill af, gl on the business my guy
"This is hard man, this is like some engineering stuff." ..buhahaaa..
Wish I had this idea{ post } 25 yrs ago… cool honest guy…what brand was that pipe cutter?
+Andre Mayo thanks! I believe it was a Kobalt, which I think is the Lowe's store brand but I could be totally off. That's where I got it though
Bro I have no idea why but this is the funniest guy ever lol nice video though 👌🏽👌🏽
You the GOAT for this thanks bro I got songs with dope hooks that I make on my phone because I just started rapping
Nice man! Yeah you definitely want at least a semi pro setup to get those crispy vocals
at 6:07 I started singing "jingle bells, jingle bells"
Haha I didnt even notice that
Tavish Fokum hahaha
Lol
lmao. Me too.
lol Your so funny 😀 and same here I just decided to start a studio 🤔 lol .thanks for the tips
Hell yeah this the shitt i was lokking for, all the other videos acquires hella lot of maney which i dont have, nice vid mannnn
thanks man, ive upgraded quite a bit since this video lol but its a good starting point!
You did that homie!
You Deserve 1 Million Subscribers
well thank you
Did you ever record from it? I'd like to hear how it sounds with a recording
this is genuinely genius. thank you for filling us in
Don't know how i got the strength to watch it till the end😂
Moaiz Merhgani 🤣😂😂
Awesome vid man
lol ,on a cardioid microphone pattern you should have your limited treatment behind you, as the back of the mic is the least important for unwanted reflections. the mic is picking up everything behind you.
His shirt said "smile more" (Roman Atwood) lol
Not sure how well it would work but why not put some more foam on the inside of the cover. Cut a hole into the cover and put the cover on the box and then just sing into the sound hole?
i put my mic in the corner of the room and and used velcro in both corners of the wall to place foam and it works wonders
Really cool ideas. Time to work on my project 😂👌
thanks fam. good luck!
I've done lots and lots of recording and from my experience as far as vocals go, just hang a thick thermal blanket in the corner! Its sounds the same as having a foam foam. Vocal sound is really all about the pre amp. As far as I have seen. Cool idea tho
Blazzord was here 🙏
My kind of setup! Love it! Keep it RAW! 🤘
You have an awesome voice for voice overs.
Mr. Bean and Kermit the Frog had a baby... that baby is you lol
Whoa, this setup is rad! I'm building a pro solar-powered studio in the back of a box truck..... it's coming together, but space is a bit of an issue. Hopefully I can make mine as awesome as yours! Thanks for the video 🤘
I love everything about this video
Kool saves a lot
This works, but i think its better to treat the room u are in and leave the mic open so u dont get the box like sound
Attach the cover to the top so it flops over the opening kinda like a doggy door and you can just open it up whenever and wen you move out of the way it'll just close by itself and you could put a blanket over the top for extra sound proofage behind you
U did pretty much what I did in my studio good job
Bro love the romanatwood shirt
when your mom leaves and dad gotta take care of you so y'all make a mix-tape together on youtube lol keep it up
Put foam completely through it and on the outside so it traps the sound in better
I had a USB mic for years bro... Many latency problems, its best to get an XLR mic and interface if you can save the doe... I'm currently saving for a Rode NT1 and have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4... Even playing music back through an interface seems to be better than the on-board sandblaster in my PC.
+Chizzle Rapper yeah I need to upgrade for sure!
Very good video. Make sure to cover the whole bin with sound proofing. Place foam on corner of wall where they meet. place your back against the foam and the mic/bin in front of you. The sound reflection will be activated. I would use on sides also. In Mix anything 40hz or lower should be filtered.
If you guys would like to learn about the music bizz check us out. Updated 2018 info.
this was very creative ima try this thanks
thank you for stopping by!
Great video
he's so pure.
When I'm done moving in a few weeks I plan on saving up to build up a home studio. This really helped though.
I have my own recording studio also ... thanks fir the ideas
Just peeped the shirt! Subcribed!
love the smile more jersey man!!
Looks like a quality product :-)
AMAZING VIDEO!! I subscribed so hard. Looking forward to new content!
great job !
preciate ya!
5:20🤣🤣🤣 "this is hard man"
Try getting a more expensive mic stand to hold your contraption up
at the top there was missing sound blocking foam so you should've put the mic through there instead of ripping foam plus it would eco less it would've worked much better
Just realized you're a Roman Atwood fan
You are very intelligent. Great video
This video was very helpful thanks man 💯🙌🏾
Your video helped me alot,thanks!
Awesome idea . Thank you
luv da blue cuzz
Good idea I like it only question is how much was everything and I wanted to tell u,you should make a video on trying it like put a beat on and try to sing in it
It helped me to save lot of money
Only quote I have for this is ITS NOT MUCH BUT ITS HONEST WORK😂😂😂
should have done a test on it. Would sound like some horrible low frequency resonance. Source: i've tried this before. Sounds better outside of the box.
MR. BEAN VOICE ON POINT
you voice like " Mr. Bean"
Lmao
Lol bro
Yeahhhh!
Agree🙋
He doesn’t talk..?
Dope idea, thank you!
so creative!
6:01 know you do crona time
Awesome idea! Thanks for tip :)
SMART GUY I WOULDN'T THINK OF THAT 😂 GOOD IDEA I WANNA MAKE MY OWN BOOTH
Best dad
very nice approach bro =)
Thanks man!
wow nice!
i think its better to put a velcro to stick a foam.
You're Awesome dude
Good video thank you My frender
Headphones are probably the most important part
Correct, the actual microphone? Useless
Very helpful thank you so much
Anyone else notice he's wearing Roman Atwood merch??
