I just set mine up a few days ago so this helps me get refreshed on the machine. Great video 👍🏼

As someone interested in wood working also from New Zealand, I’d love to see more gear reviews for what we have access to in our country. Particularly table saws, thicknessers

Noted, thanks! I'm actually thinking of starting another channel, which will be more focused on product reviews etc and leave this one mainly for entertainment.

Hi, i want to but a xtool d1 pro for our shop (cabinet shop), we want to encrave our logo in the doors, is it possibe to encrave a piece 70x30" just placing the machine on top of the wood?

Hi, yes this is possible, although I haven't tried myself. You would need to align the xTool in the right place and adjust the Laser head down to the right level for your door using the focus lever. If you are doing a lot of these, I would also build an xTool enclosure with smoke extraction.

I returned recently my xtool 20w pro. It didn’t cut colour acrylic and tried so many times to get the engraving to work also. The smell of acrylic burning is so toxic it gave me a headache. I had to sometimes run a 5 pass to get it to cut the 3mm acrylic and you could really see and smell the burnt melted acrylic. Might be an ok machine but definitely not for cutting and engraving acrylic.

An xTool should ideally be operated inside an enclosure with smoke extraction. They are available commercially, but I am going to build one to my own requirements.

Ok, I haven't tried the xTool with acrylic. I use my exclusively with wood for which it has performed very well so far.
