Hi sandy I am owner driver with 36 years experience. I drive European every week and I have lots of experience on left hooks . I can tell you right now this is a nice newer truck for your business OK. The thing is a left hook on West Highland roads are not very practical especially A82 Loch lomond side you better order at least 4 mirror covers as this will not be hour first whack I can tell you . If you do local work in West Highlands it comes with ghe terain . When I ordered my new 770s I thought about speaking it a left hook as 75%of the work is European but in the end I went for right hand I find it easy enough as years on the roads . My other 2 scanias ard right hand as well . They only go maybe once every 3 months into Europe but I get it you don't want to be slaged of every other day with brocken cover or chunk missing . That wash is what I use on my wagons and trailers it really makes a very good job on giving them a wash . Hope you keep your truck busy with good paying work and it will be nice to see it all painted and new light bar but first earn that money for the paint but it looks good the now and when cash is there you certainly can improve her

Yer arse, my left hooker running up the west on timber never caused any issues, the only thing that ever lets a left hooker down is the driver. Doesn’t matter what side steering wheel is on mirror backs still get battered up the loch side
I have a tip for you it works great get the back of the mirrors wrapped in white vinyl it helps stop cracking on impact and keep a bit in the truck for repairs

You need some form of identity on the truck,so for the moment, i would leave the SJM on the sides. The mirror repair is fine for caravan season, and change it for the next show. Those cleaning products look bang on,what are the prices like?

A compliment on the lorry Sandy, she is a real presence on the road. Came across you on Thursday (going south on the A9, Aviemore-Kingussie area) and even though she's "only" plain white she really stands out on the road, easy to spot.
Personally. SJM on the sides, SJM Transport on the headboard, and black door steps.
A black stoneguard would look mint 🤌

Not good Sandy, but it could have been much worse, at least it didn't take the whole mirror out completely and off your door.
Caravans and camper vans are the scourge of our Highland roads in the North of Scotland in the summer months.
My late father's car was hit by one years ago on a narrow road near Strontian all because the driver obviously forgot how much wider than a car he was when driving a camper van on a narrow road.

Ah the joys of campervan season, not done many trips over to the west coast, and most where out of season, but bloody hell some hire something massive dawdle all over the road, take more room up than artics, get to about 30mph max and are generally bit of a menace, sadly new job i will never be back that neck of the woods in the lorry anyway.
Yup its a rough repair, but works, better than it was, looks presentable till get new stuff on away from silly season around you.
Will look great painted up in the colours, but looks good just now, and gettings other stuff done first makes the job easier than a prettier truck
Sandy. Get sum stainless steel mirror guards. I know there not the best look but there save you a mirror or mirror housing. Are you going to be getting sum Lazer driving lights for the new truck. Russ in hillam. 👍
Hey Sandy another day in the life of a trucker 🤦🏻♂️. Good job on the we repair I’d get a we drop of filler and your colour in a rattle can and it be good as new 👌. I agree with few other comments I’d go down the wrap route and you can easy repair if any gets damaged. Keep up the great work 🤘

Twist the end of your snorfoam bottle to adjust the spray so u get more coverage trucks incredible
Morning Sandy quite a lot in this video , the repair & the wash were all attention to detail as always as a true professional , leave SJM on the side & as time & finances allow get her sprayed in your original colours will look great & get them both up the road earning a living , please ignore my ignorance as I only drive 7,1.2 so this question dose not effect me ! Were do you keep your suzies & the Anderson leads as when you washed the truck they were not hung on the back !? Truck is looking absolutely amazing despite the small miss apps ! In regards to the paint job, you could do an updated livery design, same colours but have the stripe down the side flair a bit or maybe have an intertwining stripe,
Surely youll need to put a higher fifth wheel on Sandy?
The one on mine is very high, but in a right bad bit i can still catch the top of the hydraulic tank with the nose of the trailer.

Morning Sandy it was inevitable at some point. It would get scuffed no matter how hard you try. I know you’ve probably been told this already but what about getting a set of stainless mirror guards? Regards as don’t think they would be out of place as you’ve got your light bars and so on, already.
I would definitely take the SJM with the sides.
And if you were going to paint it at some point it’s got to be right as colour can make or break truck but then again I don’t need to tell you how to suck eggs.

dont paint it as the other truck no nice to be honest, the white looks better much cleaner, you could get some filler for the mirror it would go in to shape with rubbing down

Leave SJM on the side ! Looks good , just enough , it’s a fine line between a working truck and a show pony ! Give me a working truck every time , not much on that I would change , keep and eye oot for the campers

Mirrors always get damaged no matter how hard you try, how about some aluminum mirror guards Sandy, at least they will give you more protection against your Mirrors getting damaged and smashed.

4m max height in most of europe, so lower 5th wheel, often lower profile tyres and flatter wingtops,

Go for a good wrap job instead of paint, and maybe some stainless mirror protectors,.

Hi Sandy, firstly congratulations on your new truck mate. Personally I really like it all white with maybe some added red or blue accents here n there but if yiur going to paint it like yoyr previous truck, then maybe go with a more Danish influence wirh the red, white n blue, no offence but your colour scheme imo needs modernising slightly. Keep up the great content mate.👊
Would a wrap in the same colours as your old scanny be cheaper and quicker sandy rather than an actual paint job....just a thought 🤔
