    Thank for the bell crank video, all though it was for different truck the maxx is what I was working on and putting the aluminum bell crank because as you know when upgrade to aluminum arms for the widen kit, it starts braking the composite components. Any way I got it all put together and since I’m new at this hobby (4 month) I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t lock up duh there wasn’t a spring in it and I wasn’t paying attention and as soon as got the part with “ you gotta take spring from the old assembly because it doesn’t come with it” so I go to trusty TH-cam and found your video
    Thanks dude

    Joe, on mine after putting plantary in the ring and pinion mesh was too tight.i added 4 washers under the brackets for the carrier and now it's perfect.spins super smooth.i suggested to Arthur to make a few flat shims (instead of washers) to the package so we can adj gear mesh.

    The nose cone you referring to is called a 3d member, the shims are for shimming the gears...wow!

    Nice informative video, I have the earlier axle that you mentioned, when I purchased mine it was the only option, I wouldn't mind
    going to the one you have , it looks identical apart from the front way it fix's, I found two thing's of benefit in fitting the alloy axle,
    the first heat it runs cooler second unsprung weight it has almost completely cured grip roll on most surfaces.
    I have also fitted the alloy front diff housing/bulkhead and the centre diff/transmission housing again this has helped get weight lower, so centre of gravity has shifted lower, I also fitted the GPM billet alloy motor mount to further dropping the temp's.
    I also have fitted All racing and Kid-RC alloy front upper and lower arms and rear trailing arm's GPM sway bar arm's and link's,
    front and rear upper shock mounts TRAXXAS light kit, OBA, All racing roll cage panel's and skid plates, tyre strap's, hood air filter cover, 3D printed exhaust tip's, mirror's, hood vents for UDR and the TRX4, wheel tyre valves and shock valve body sleeve's from Exclusive RC,
    home made window nets, for a good scale appearance along with colouring the accessories, yeah I know it has added some weight but not as much as I expected, and it has not noticeably slowed it on 4S or 6S. Sorry for the lengthy blurb, it is the first real
    scale vehicle I have had, I run 5th scale gas I have eight, a very old Savage with the quad body and rider and a Venom RC VMX
    450 motor cross bike with supermotad tyres as the knobbies are worn out and cracked and no longer any parts available as it is a discontinued model bummer I loved the offroad best. Hers hoping that TRAXXAS will bring out more Pro-Scale vehicles out Ultra 4 or a Class 1 on the same sort of platform, my UDR is my go to for the winter now as I can run it in more places than the noisy gas vehicles. I enjoy your videos and will go see you in Facebook keep the videos coming N.

  • @JarretLaMark
    @JarretLaMark 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's the cost that's kept me from getting one. Instead I bought the axle protector, which is a skid plate to protect the diff housing. Highly recommend a full diff conversion for the rear axle if you run on higher gip surfaces like hard packed dirt, grass, or asphalt. Living in the city means my choices are limited, and the full diff conversion to the rear axle (500,000w oil) made a world of difference in performance. The stock solid diff makes the truck flip over due to the rear wheels having no independence when turning.

    • @quixilver09
      @quixilver09 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      More info on this conversion?

    • @JarretLaMark
      @JarretLaMark 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@quixilver09 You basically just build a new differential like you are replacing the front one, which is a full diff, unlike the one in the rear axle which is a locked spool. You just have to get the correct rear outdrives if I remember correctly. Traxxas has everything you need, and I believe you can still buy them on eBay already built. I sold my UDR like 6 months ago because I couldn't deal with how fragile the platform was overall. I mainly use my Losi Super Baja Rey which is an iron horse, and can take beating after beating. It's not as good looking as the UDR, but it's bigger, faster, and a lot more fun for me. Once I got it, the UDR sat for 7 months until I sold it. When I did have it, I actually had two fully built axles, one with the original locked spool, and another one with a limited slip style differential (500,000 wt fluid from Kyosho). This way I could switch relatively quickly depending on what surface I wanted to drive on. The locked spool is great on super loose surfaces for drifting the rear end, but that's about it. Everywhere else, the differential conversion is the way to go.
