  • I'd like you to learn how to thin royal icing to different consistencies. How to fill, tie and cut the piping bag. In this video, I show you when to use stiff, flood, or piping consistency royal icing for different cookie decorating projects. In today's video, I'm sharing how to thin royal icing to the desired consistency, including simple cookie decorating demonstrations for each consistency.

🔹Cookie decorating can be easy or difficult. I'm sure you'd like it to be easy. Royal icing consistency is the single most important thing in cookie decorating.
🔹Icing that is too thick doesn't spread nicely, and icing that is too thin won't hold its shape when trying to pipe the roses.
🔹It is important to understand how different consistencies behave and how to utilize them for various decorating projects using several techniques.

Hello Annette, royal icing made with meringue keeps for a while. I like to store mine in the fridge as it doesn't separate as quickly, for up to a month. You can store it on the kitchen counter as well. And you can also freeze royal icing.
