Brian!!! Thanks for checking out my videos. It was such a pleasure chatting with you on the chair. 40k vertical is HUGE. I'm glad you made the most of such a delightful day! Hopefully I'll see ya on the mountain again at some point .
What a sick video! I've never been to whistler, but I had the trail map open on another tab so I could follow along. Also a really impressive feat, unfortunate so many lifts were closed though.
@@riseandalpine Absolutely stunning views! Snow was definitely more dust on crust, but nice to get the turns in on untouched snow, The skied-out sections were pretty choppy.
Another challenge that would be cool is to ski all the alpine bowls(West, Glacier, Flute, Gemstones etc.) might be a little too hard though. Whistler had pow for like 4 of the 5 days I skied, unreal place.
James, yer a beauty. Salad, hot sauce, Salad, skillz, salad..... Next season, we're either setting the peak to creek lap record in a day, or maybe every horseshoe 3 times? Keep up the awesome work. This series is gonna be HUGE!!!!!
Good vid! You know when you film with the camera stick holding it in front and above you? You can adjust it on the fly to film yourself from behind and above by changing the grip: instead of having the long end of the stick coming out of the thumb side of your palm, it comes out at the pinkie end. It's like switching from holding ski pole as a sword to normal ski pole hold but pointed behind you and towards the sky.
Probably wouldn't have changed the route too much since they connect back to most of the chairs. Would have had to start or finish on the magic chair though
Wow, I've been wanting to do that since I started skiing at Whistler but never had the courage to do so. If you do not mine, whit your permission, I will follow your quide the same way you did it. I quest I have to wait untill next year. I'll stick to Blackcomb. Thanks for this wonderfull journey. Your's amazing....
Missed the last 6weeks of Whistler... Kibda bummed about not getting to ski those pow days but at least I get to watch some videos and get to kinda feel like I am out there.
Nice video man, I am from the French/Swiss Alps and i lived in BC for 7 years. It is so expensive to ski in Whistler $200 day and their chairlift are so outdated. I ski 3-4 times in Canada and 10-20 times in Europe per season. I pay 20-30 euros ($30-45 per day) in Savoie for a day pass, sometimes it is free or super cheap. Whistler is good for MTB but sadly this season Creekside is shut down.
A season/epic/edge card is the only reasonable option. Paying for a lift ticket is so ludicrous. I always hear Europeans commenting about the chairs... What makes the lifts so outdated? They are high speed quads not 2 seaters like most of the province. Do you guys have full service bars or something on those Euro chairs?? Creekside shutdown is a bummer for MTB season, but it will greatly improve the flow on the Whistler side for next winter.
@riseandalpine can't comment for all of Europe, but skiing in Austria you have a few bubble (the restraining bar had a windshield basically) chairlifts, most being 6 or 8 seater for smaller queue lines, with a few even having heated seats and practically all lifts have piste maps. That may be what people mean by outdated for whistler lol
Hey dude! I use a mix of the insta 360 one x2 and a go pro hero 7. Just upgraded to the go pro 11. Filming in 360 is pretty clutch in after production because you can reframe everything however you want!
I know :(... it was closed that day sadly. Maybe it's time for me to do it again. Also, I'll have to get in touch with lift ops and make sure Franz chair is running too LOL
😂😂😂 My Friend. I share in the same disappointment. Planned this video out and got up there to find out both were closed for the season.... GARBAGE hahaha
When you are carving hard it is actually better to drag/tap your poles. Watch some videos on ski racers and very good carving skiers and you'll see what I mean. Off-Piste pole planting is more integral. It's important to keep pole plants light because over planting can mess up the body position. So YES I believe in using poles all the time, but they have different applications depending on the terrain and ski style. Also - if I'm holing a selfie stick I never plant in order to keep the camera more stable for viewers.
@@riseandalpine Intersting, I raced for over 10 years and never did we drag our polls when tighter turns were being used, such as GS, SL, the carves I was looking at were not at high speed and more like a lazy GS type turn. Only time you would ever drag is Super-G and Down Hill at high speeds
That was me with you on Big Red express!! Loving your channel. Stay well. I got in 39,274 vertical feet that day. What a ride.
Brian!!!

Lovin the content! I went to whistler in the winter and it was awesome:) keep up the good work!!
Thanks!!!
Very cool! Thanks for the tour Whistler is on the bucket list!
Thanks! You've got to get out here at some point it's the best!
What a sick video! I've never been to whistler, but I had the trail map open on another tab so I could follow along. Also a really impressive feat, unfortunate so many lifts were closed though.
Thanks! The lifts that were closed are usually always closed most days. Haven't seen a day with every weird little lift running in years!
Going to miss you in the off season buddy, thanks for all the vids and shredding. Great vid today. You got skills.
Thanks for always tuning in Chris!
Skiing videos until June and then I'll be filming my other outdoor antics off the snow :)
Woah! I was there the same day! I might have been doing the Flute Bowl hike while you were skiing Symphony! So crazy. I enjoyed the grooming as well.
Such a nice day!! How was Flute?

That sounds like my kind of day!
Awesome run, bet you can’t do that on the peak season😂. Nothing beats when there’s no line up for chair lift
Peak season/weekends would make this nearly impossible.
Love whistler
It's unbeatable!
Yoooooooo🔥this was sick‼‼‼‼
Thanks Courtney!
Such a fun way to spend a day at Whistler Blackcomb 🤙🤙🤙
It was amazing seeing you on catskinner this year
🤙 🤙 🤙
That Hot Sauce Will Do It 💥
It's a staple in my diet.

Mr Purcell!
I'd love to race with you up and down Peak to Creek all day long.
I'm not certain they even groomed it once this year...
Awesome video bro. If I catch you on the mountain in a week, I'll try the hot sauce LOL.😅
Thanks Michael!

Thanks for the tip, that sounds like it will capture a really cool angle!
if you had every single lift and t-bar open, how would your route of changed if at all?
Probably wouldn't have changed the route too much since they connect back to most of the chairs. Would have had to start or finish on the magic chair though

100% you should do it next year! It's super fun :)
It can only be truly done over Christmas when Franz chair is open.
Very True. But I would dare not try with the lines at Christmas hahah
@@riseandalpine good point.
most redundant chair on either mountain. idk why they even run it.
what run r u on at 5:33 ?
I think that was just off of Burnt Stew to the left down the bowl back towards the cat track. Between harmony and Symphony.
@riseandalpine thanks
Jesus that peak to peak would scare the shit out of me
It is 100% spooky. Ridiculously high!
Perfect content to absolutely destroy a baconator to
This might be my favourite comment of the year 😂😂😂
I agree lol-your videos are great to watch while eating😂
Can't ski anymore (knees expired lol) but this was a nice view!
Your poor knees :(
Happy I could take you for a ride with me!
7th heaven is so nostalgic
Always good memories in there eh!

Pow FOMO is the worst. I know that pain!
I've got two big pow videos coming next week to help fill that powder void!
Was skiing all last week wish I could've met you
Next Time!
Yolo...and you are! Well doing!
You must have done this on the one day Vail had all the lifts running! Almost all the days this year they could not run their lifts!!
😂😂😂😂
I checked the board for 132 days straight until I saw everything ticked green.
@@riseandalpine You are committed! Well done sir!
As someone who loves to ski but lives in Florida , this almost hurts to watch
I feel for you man... Florida is far far away from the mountains :(

he spikes his hotsauce with molly
Did you just take a shot of hot sauce? What is that? :D
My secret blend of skiing Hot Sauce. The spice gets me stoked!
Hey bro nice vid! I just wanted to ask, what camera did you used to record the video?
Hey dude! I use a mix of the insta 360 one x2 and a go pro hero 7.
Just upgraded to the go pro 11.

How long does Whistler stay open till usually?
Blackcomb is open this year until May 24th. It just snowed about 30-40cm today and the coverage in the Alpine is the best it's been all year!
If the snow is mediocre this is always true: the top of spanky’s is good, not the bottom
The glory at the top makes the suffering near the bottom worth it!!
@@riseandalpine yeah
i want to go to whistler on my mountain bike but wanna try skiing there aswell
You gotta try skiing at Whistler Rory! You'll love it!!!
How many camera and drone batteries did you carry that day?
One battery for each camera. I didn't even have to recharge.
i’m gonna try this with palisades tahoe instead of whistler 🤣
Heck ya! Excited to hear about it.
Please, remember to pole plant !
No Promises :)
Hey dude, I met you in the lift line the other day .
Ayyye! Awesome meeting you Martin!
You missed Magic Chair 😅
It was closed that day... Too late in the season hahah. Gonna have to try this again
lol im new here did he take a hot sauce shot
You bet I did! Liquid Courage baby.... Better than redbull :)
Thanks for tuning in!
@riseandalpine I like the energy keep on taking those hot sauce shots bro and throw em up on the site once you get the go ahead from food services 🤙🏽
You missed the Olympic chair

I know! They were closed for the season. Would have been the most fun chairs tho!
Sadly no Franz Chair, It's barely ever open anyways. And No Magic Chair and T-bars.
Guess I'm a cheater

Try this at big sky. I dare you!
I'd love to. Except I'd probably end up skiing the lone peak tram all day. That terrain looks so awesome!
3rd
You gotta get a friend in Kadenwood to get on their private gondola!
100% Anyone in the comments section have access to the Kadenwood gondola???
