    Unlike most other Toyota front brakes, the caliper slide pin bolts on the C-HR have blue locktite previously applied in the factory. The C-HR service manual suggests not to use the old caliper slide pin bolts when re-assembling. New OEM bolts come with blue locktite already applied.
    For the front brakes, if you are disassembling and lubricating the caliper slide pins (not shown in the video), you need to know that the lower caliper slide pin is different from the upper pin. The lower caliper slide pin has a bushing on the end of it which needs to be carefully removed and replaced with a new bushing.
    Before working on the rear brakes, the electric parking brake has to be deactivated by following the proper procedure. Like for the front brakes, a new bushing has to be installed, but for the rear brakes, the bushing goes on the upper caliper slide pin. The 2 caliper slide pin bolts are also replaced with new ones.
    Thanks for your video.

    I would not advise:
    1) Reusing old rotors
    2) Using channel locks
    3) Back flowing your master cylinder by compressing the caliper pistons - instead open the bleeder valve and then compress the piston
    4) Not applying fresh grease to the guide pins
    5) Not applying anti seize lubrication to the brackets

      @jim011101 I agree with #2 and #4, good tips! Remainder are not per manufacturer recommendations

    So, i have a question. When I took the CH-R to a dealership and mentioned the squeaky brake sound i was told they could find or hear the sound that I've mentioned about the squeaky brakes. As you mentioned in your video that the squeaky sound would be coming from the brakes being in contact with the rotor and it not being overly filled with dirt that's causing the sound? This has been going on for a week. Thanks in advance 💪🏼

    As soon as i saw the channel locks.. Nope

    • @EngineeredMojo
      @EngineeredMojo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Caliper pin bolts are low torque, so channel locks will not gouge any surfaces especially if tapped in clampiny surface such as mine, yup
