No, the map is great :) good for pracising circle jumps from one side to the other. But yes, it's funny because the bots just can't handle that area very well and more often than not commit accidental suicide ^^.

When i was 18 i won the game in nightmare mode beating xaero 10 to -2 in the final match, and thought i was rather good at this game. Now i'm 36 and watch this and i'm like... whaaaat?
Not a stranger to my fav game. Didn't occur to me untill I watched. But anarchy has a colorful name. Either his skill set caused an anarchy thus giving him the name. Or something else happend in his past. In quake 3 arena ever char has a story. Still got the game on disk after all these years.Thanks man.

Yep, playing against bots is fun, but playing with / against actual players is a whole different story ^^. Bots can be annoyingly random but are also extremely predictable. CTF with actual player was really fun. Especially when you have a quite mixed skillset across the teams. Some are really good at movement, others have incredible good aim / prediction and some have both ^^. Also tactics play a huge role as well. I used to play Q3 on an almost daily basis online up to around 2007. At that point the orange box came out and TF2 refused to run without a new GPU driver. So I updated the driver and TF2 worked. From that moment on all Q3 based games refuesed to start (Q3, RTCW, MoHAA, JediKnight2, ...). About 8 years after trying counless new drivers, the next Nvidia driver update magically fixed the issue and all games were working again. Same installation on the same HDD. No changes to the games. It seemed it was some kind of rare hardware / software issue because I haven't found anyone else with a similar issue on the net... The crazy part was, QuakeLive actually worked (which was a browser plugin back in the days).
People who play Quake: Nightmare difficulty is the most difficult of all. It is specially impossible to defeat Xaero with that difficulty. TASers: *_lemme rephrase that_*

333 fps - is it even allowed? Afaik both sv_fps and com_maxfps must be 125. Sv_fps 333 has considerably higher jumps, easy to cover long gaps and jump on stuff.

@@platronic bright skins = mod. The enemy modals heve been MODified. Right if the bat, crash has gained a lot of weight after all those years and has become blue. LOL. Gives the player an visual advantage. It is definitely not a pure game.
@@cdvries Forcing enemies to use the player's model was a memory saving option. Or at least that was the intended use. It was routinely (ab)used to turn all your opponents into bulky and noisy Keels.
I remember 10 year old me when I finished this game on "bring it on" (the second easiest difficulty) and I still felt like the king of video games xD

this simple item mode is much easier than normal mode. as bots make no jumps. its easy to see them as they are so bright
