For example, in the animation we never see Cinderella's mother because she is already dead. They bring her to the live action movie when Cinderella is a child to show how their bond as mother and child shaped Cinderella into the kind, hard-working person she is. They also didn't make Cinderella into a third-wave feminist message. She shows that you can be kind, traditionally feminine, fall in love and still be a strong character.
And the prince met Cinderella in the wood. He likes her because she is kind. And Cinderella wanted to go to balls to meet her new friend aka the price. That added so much to the story.
The live action Christopher Robin movie also worked because it is not a remake It tells a completely different story from the rest of the Winnie the Pooh franchise, rather then recycling an old idea

And if there is one thing that you can NEVER change, it's the appearance of the characters, because it is a key element in the attachment that people have for the character. When "The Little Mermaid" live-action remake came out, the majority of people said, "Yeah it's cool, but I preferred my Ariel", because Ariel is not Ariel without her iconic red hair, fair skin, and gentle personality. If there is one piece of advice Disney would benefit from following, it's to prioritize storytelling over pandering. You can put as many people of color as you desire, as long as the story is good.

There is a time and place for modernizing a story that's aged poorly. The problem is that nobody can recognize when a movie is fine the way it is, and doesn't really need to change.

The reason there's nothing wrong with race swapping some characters- for example, Ariel- is because sometimes their race isn't relevant to their backstory. It's been done in a lot of superhero movie settings too, where they don't cast an actor because of their face, but because they're good for the role. The thing with Snow White, a girl who's skin is said to be "white as snow", hence her name, should even have a skin color change. Some things you have to keep the same when they're relevant to the story.

It's okay to add changes to the story, as long as these changes make it better than the original, but you cannot create a remake if you don't understand the very depths of the original work. And if there is one thing that you can NEVER change, it's the appearance of the characters, because it is a key element in the attachment that people have for the character. When "The Little Mermaid" live-action remake came out, the majority of people said, "Yeah it's cool, but I preferred my Ariel", because Ariel is not Ariel without her iconic red hair, fair skin, and gentle personality. If there is one piece of advice Disney would benefit from following, it's to prioritize storytelling over pandering. You can put as many people of color as you desire, as long as the story is good.

There is a time and place for modernizing a story that's aged poorly. The problem is that nobody can recognize when a movie is fine the way it is, and doesn't really need to change.
It is heartbreaking to see them erode the magic and beauty of this priceless classic and fairytale all so they can be political and modern. Why can’t a movie and story just be for the magic and storytelling of it?
True, I honestly love the storylines and the magic in the stories they make rather than it being modern and political, like they shouldn't bring the harsh reality into these films we loved back then, full of joy and magic.

Given the oportunity to return to the sea by killing the prince, she looked at him sleeping and I think he said his new bride's name. Ariel realized she couldn't kill him and accepted the consequences of not holding up her end of the deal she made-- she got turned into sea foam, essentially dying

There was once an older live-action version of Snow White I remember watching. It was called Mirror Mirror or something like that. There were some weird changes and editions to the story but I remember thinking it was all cool though.

From what I heard Peter did not want any other person casted as a dwarf was most likley to make sure that no other dwarf would be shown as being a better dwarf actor than he is since then people would find that he is over-rated. Also if I were to cast the dwarves it would be the ones that made the Diggy Diggy Hole song just because that song would be funny to hear in a movie.

The queen finds her, poisons her and the dwarfs display her in glass coffin. Only then prince comes. The only problematic thing there is, is the kiss, like dude why are you kissing what you consider to be a corpse? The only character that has less screen time is the hunter... So yeah, Snow White was totally on the hunt for her true love.

The reason there's nothing wrong with race swapping some characters- for example, Ariel- is because sometimes their race isn't relevant to their backstory. It's been done in a lot of superhero movie settings too, where they don't cast an actor because of their face, but because they're good for the role.
The thing with Snow White, a girl who's skin is said to be "white as snow", hence her name, should even have a skin color change. Some things you have to keep the same when they're relevant to the story.

Im pale , got bullied for being pasty in my childhood and I really liked Snow White growing up because I would get compared to her when I was really young by the adults around me, I get the black hair from my Mexican dad and the white skin from my Irish Italian mother (she has dark hair too) - some ppl won’t even acknowledge that I’m part Hispanic cause I’m so pasty white even though my dad isn’t white at all - tmi just it’s annoying when something you relate to just gets obliterated.

People keep seeing the movies. The remakes are extremely annoying but they are successful and make a lot of money. As long as people keep watching, Disney will keep delivering. I think they even count on people complaining about them through videos and hit pieces; it’s essentially free advertising. I didnt even know they were making a Snow White until I saw this video. I suppose they figure any press is good press.
