Your not alone! I personally really love both of their designs! Sure, Marina is pretty but Pearl's design seems pretty interesting too. Pearl is pretty sassy but Marina is pretty salty too. So they both have a few characters flaws, so did the Squid Sisters!

I remember when I first read this one, I cried...
If this was the actual Pearl I would have fallen in love with off the hook, but seeing how she is just snarky and nothing else and Marina is just a big 'meh' for me they will be the second best Splatoon pop stars
But this comic goes along with the actual their actual deput remember? Nobody even knew Pearl's personality yet but almost everyone hated her because she wasn't eye candy like Marina. They judged Pearl before they even got to know her, which makes this comic feel so powerful.

I wanna give Pearl a hug. Marina gets all the attention. Pearl is judged by her looks and her forehead. Pearl can rap better then us and she knows how to bring the heat.
Both Pearl and Marina are great, Marina is gorgeous with a beautiful voice (for an inkling) and Pearl is adorable and fun, we shouldn't judge them by their looks immediatly.

This... this is why I like Pearl more. I used to like Marina. But those like Marina for her looks and bash Pearl for everything ruined it for me. This is accurate though... Everyone doesn't like Pearl. I ADORED Pearl the second I saw her. She was adorable, and I didn't care how she looked! I love how she acts too, just because she's some-what sassy so it makes it better. I like them almost equally, more Pearl then Marina though. I seem to like under-dogs more, but I had no clue she would be hated so much when I first saw her in the trailer. But, I don't care who you like more, just PLEASE don't pick your splatfest off of the character, and I'll have respect for you.

The ending was the most unexpected...it tells a story about how someone can judge you by your appearance/race and how people can judge you by your personality/looks.

Why are people in the comments against Marina. Let me explain, let's face it Pearl was meant to be criticized, but most of the time, people that are making videos like this, which roasts Pearl, do not actually despise the character. As a fellow content creator, (even though I am an amateur), I can relate to trying to conform to TH-cam trends. In my opinion, Pearl and Marina would never be as great if they weren't a duo. That was Nintendo's plan, create characters that contrast each other, thus, it would build on each others character. But as I previously aforementioned, content creators are just trying to stay relevant in this world of media
