Regarding the Panasonic TGH 260 with Bluetooth and ‘link to cellphone’… The function - Show notification & sound when receiving incoming SMS text message to ‘linked’ mobile… Following the instructions (printed manual) … enter # then 4 numbers … ok….it then does not display a ‘select’ option for enabling ‘on’ or ‘off’ of the SMS alert function on the handset screen … The mobile and the Panasonic are ‘linked’ o.k. …Any ideas ??
Please if you can I need to know how to program speed dial on this phone. I need to have it for my old mom she had one has this feature I know all Panasonic has it too but I do not know how to setup or program it. Thanks

You seem to say that we can pair a handset from one model to the base unit of a different model. Is that so? I've tried with the KX-TG2770CS base unit with a cordless from KX-TG1061C. The directions are similar to yours and the "registering" display showed, but after a minute, they both just shut off. It also didn't let me put in the date and time first.
This is happening to me also. I even tried deregistering the old phone from the old base so that I could pair it to new. Hopefully, an answer will come.

Some models have a slightly different procedure. Best to check your user manual to find the instructions for your particular model # and system... (there's a section that explains how to register/de-register handsets). Or if you can't find/no longer have your manual, then look it up online according to your phone's model number... (which is found underneath the base unit -- not on the phone itself, as the model # on the actual handsets are slightly different and pertain only just to the handsets themselves). Hope that helps.

Press OK button and scroll through the options until you see “copy”. Press OK and choose the handset number your new handset was registered to the base station with. Repeat for each phone book contact. Unfortunately, there is no way I know of to copy them all at once!

It *_IS_* already done when buying as a set! These instructions are for those who later buy additional handsets after the fact... or those who want to pair handsets from different phone models (or sometimes even from different brands/manufacturers) together!! Or occasionally an already paired system can develop a glitch or error and might need to be re-registered! There are many different instances of why/when it'd be necessary to register or de-register a handset... but the beauty of it all is actually *_having_* the freedom, choice, and ability to do so!! It's quite marvellous, really... and is definitely NOT something which should be regarded as an annoying task or hindrance! (that's called looking a gifthorse in the mouth!!)
