    Is it edible

this is a tough one because I have found comments that it is both edible and poisonous. I believe, however, most Podocarpus genus plants are edible, but only the fleshy part of a ripened fruit - but, not too much as there is some toxicity. However, the fruit from the Podocarpus gracilior tends to be more toxic, especially to dogs. So, unless you are 1) super careful to get the correct species, 2) cook it first....I would not recommend eating it.

I read somewhere it has two parts one dark one part green and connected but I don’t see that when I look at the fruit maybe referring to another tree also I heard poison is counteracted with other poison

I think you can eat them in small amounts, they are only "slightly" toxic... I suggest just taste the edges, but that's all.
