Even though GMs tend to blow up all the time in the show, for some reason I like them a lot. The designs of the GMs tend to differ more than the Gundams and most of the time when I play a Gundam game I choose a GM over a Gundam cause it makes me actually feel like a part of the game, rather than choosing a Gundam, which someone in the show you already know pilots. I always get 2 copies of a GM, cause I like keeping the original and then paint the other my custom colors just like ace pilots =D
Anvesh Mahendravada I have the K9 version. I put yellow accent marks on quite a few places and I think it really makes it pop. But yeah this is probably one of my favorite designs of all the rgm-79. My favorite grunt suit of all time would probably have to be the Jesta.
I like the grunt suits too. The only reason I haven't gotten a GM is because they tend to cost more than an average Leo or Zaku. I think the reason why I like grunt suits is because of the lack of over the top details, weapons, and armour. Just a simple design with simple weapons. What do you think?
Also, I think the reason the shield is the way it is, is due to it being recycled from the other GM suits from 0080 (GM Command, GM Command Space), even though this uses more modern Gunpla technology, the frame is similar to those suits.
The GM Sniper II is actually the descendent to the GM Sniper Custom, not the GM[G] Sniper. Most people get this confuse since the GM Sniper Custom was never seen expect for MSV. The GM Sniper II was a Federation's suppose attempt into making a much cheaper, but still powerful sniper type mobile suit that could handle both ground and space warfare.
There is a PS3 mech simulator game which depicts the Sniper II as being so OP, it can kill the strongest mobile suits in one shot, which I find quite hilarious. As for design, the HGUC kit leans much closer to it's source material. The Robot Damashii figure, while it has tons of articulation, the design feels a bit too stylized.
the regular GM is just a bit under the ability of the RX-78-2, the GM sniper II surpasses the gundam. people really over-rate the power of the gundam, in the end all it had was armor and a better beam weapon over the GM
@kakarot197 To add on to what you said the biggest difference between a GM and a GM II is generator output, sensor platform, and the 360 degree cockpit. everything else is exactly the same. In fact many One Year War GM's were upgraded to GMII's which is why it carries the RMS-179 and RGM-79R designations. RMS's are new off the assembly line, and 79R's are upgrades.
Well the Sniper ii was the first GM I got and I LOVED it!! I don't what it is about the looks but I just love them! especially posing him into a sniping position I must make a vid sooner or later ;) but my favourite by far is my Master grade MSN sinanju S60! love that thing!
I think more than the parts it's the molds for the Comand Gm, as there very similar and even if the fluff it say's that the Ms is made with the same frame as the comand Gm
the bend of the legs are actually better then the previous gms, so i think you should give the sniper a bit of slack for having a single joint, it's not like the joint looks bad or anything :)
I also have a request, is there a chance you could do a kind of GM family comparison with all the HGUC GM's lined up together? Maybe include the cousins like the Jeagan and Nemo with the 08th Ground GM's too? I really want to get a good comparison of them all together, and I've yet to see a video that does it.
While the pegs are nice, it is a bit of a bummer that I can't steal his sniper rifle for my Sniper Strike Gundam idea, but I guess that can't be helped. Shame about some of the corners Bandai cut here. Also, thank you for telling us about GM Sniper 1's gun not working for it. That is good info to have ahead of time. Great mod, also! The sad part is, it's not even like Bandai is in dire straits, outside of the Bandai of America issues, profits for them were up, so this is just not excusable.
Well there is another System Weapons set coming out and one of the weapons is the Sniper Rifle that looks like the one for the GM Sniper. But since it's new it may be able to fit into the GM Sniper II's hand.

At 8:20 Are the left hands able to be swapped between the HGUC Powered GM and HGUC GM Sniper II so that you can get the stock-holding hand on the sniper rifle?

CrimsonRaptors I didn't say anything about the hands themselves being incompatible, I meant that the hands on the sniper II have deeper grooves for their covers. So sniper II hand covers won't work on GM kai hands unless you file them down, and the GM Kai type ones wont work on sniper II hands unless glued down. Also the mould for the left hand of the type C units is such that it has a hinge joint at the wrist, and there are no sniper II type hand covers with that moulding style (the left hand cover of the type C derived GMs has a cut in it for the hinge joint, the sniper II does not). Also I am NOT saying you cant switch the hands, just that the type C GMs and the Sniper II cannot use each other's hand covers without some modifications.
***** And in addition their hand covers aren't always compatible (the hand covers are the things you might have to paint to fit the color scheme), unless they're Pre-Powered GM kits. (aside from the original GM, which has the hand cover attached to the trigger finger.

The Beam rifle is basically what made the original RX-78-2 so ridiculously overpowered compared to the Zakus it faced but by the later stages of the One Year War Zeon had started to employ the technology resulting in a high rate of pilot attrition and ironically contributing to the relatively high mortality rate of pilots of the GM?

for much as your picking on this HG kit.the GBF K9 uses the same body and I have none of the problems your having with it and it using the same mold as this kit so I guess it just a mileage will very type of deal lol. I'm not a big fan of the blue.I like the dark green and light green the K9 has but I do like the stickers for this kit as I would love to make a GM team and all of them have the federation symbols on them but sadly the K9 is form build fighter so it not going have those stickers.I wish I could find someone selling HG federation stickers soi could put them on my GM team working on.great review as always.keep them coming

never had to glue the backpack on mine to keep it on there lol I guess it's a milage will very type deal.but what im gonna do is get three GM/GM one with each head and two GM ground types and paint them in K9's colors and make a federation team out of them with the K9 being the leader of course lol and how do water slide stickers work.I've never had any MG that had English writer on them to explain it and im to lazy to look online to read about and most videos that explain it are so boring that i get board and forget it lol but those links are for stickers that are HGUC size? i thought decal stickers except for the ones that come with the kits.any others where only made for MG size kits?
Anyone having trouble with the slide visor not goign down all the way? I think the I 2 part that came with my kit is damaged can't find anything related to this issue online.

Is that GM Sniper Custom at the end a MSiA figure? I have never seen an official 1/144 kit of it outside the original MSV line... MAN, I would love to see a brand new HGUC GM Sniper Custom kit... I love that suit.

I'm calling Bandai out on Hamrabi and GM sniper. I swear, they had these waiting in a AutoCAD file, waiting to be produced. They're pretty subpar compared to '05 HG! SHAME BANDAI. SHAME.
This review was a good one. However I thought it would be better without the emphasis of the poor job it did in gundam 0080 war in the pocket. GM's were created to be mass produced and blown up for dramatic effects.

The way the suit is holding the riffle it fly out of its hands as soon as trigger is pulled
The model kit doesnt have a reflective sticker but i can forgive that for 2012

I don't know about that. They're Mass-Production AGE-1s, so I would think they're what the GM is to the Gundam.

Well Amuro was a genuine newtype of course he's a better pilot. Also the RX-78 2 fought Zakus which are a piece of carp.

I think it is unexceptionable because they probably used left over parts from 2004 models and just recolored it.
