About the rain, It's been crazy here too. Garage flooded. Fortunately nothing major was lost.
But now I have to fix that so it can't flood again. Something to do while waiting for Land Rover parts though.
Yeap my shop floor is wet - overshot the gutters
The same here on the East coast of Australia. Pouring like a busted bladder then a couple of days that were like spring.
Mike ,It's never stopped raining in guisborough for weeks except on days when it were fine. And there ain't many of them. not if you include drizzle as rain. And even if it weren't drizzling, it were overcast and there were a lot of moisture in the air. You come home damp as though it had been raining, even though there had been no evidence of precipitation in the rain gauge outside the three fiddes
I am going to the town hall to check the rain gauge - it's a loverly rain gauge
Good job mike...I have RHD ..this mean hold on on the box.. lol happy wkd..
Hello Mike, For pitted sealing surfaces on shafts, I've been told that back in the days some pro rebuild shops would electro-clean or sand blast the area and braze brass over without heating too much and then sand in back smooth on the lathe. I haven't owned a steering box done like that, but it appears that rust and wear resistance of the brass layer held rather good to time and dirt...
Thanks for the info
Deck looks very smart
Thanks!
Laserwelding !
Yes you could but with the steering box bearing for the worm, you can buy the ball race and outer race - but not the inner
Could you slightly re position the seal on the shaft longitudinally with a spacer, so the primary sealing lip engages with a nicely finished original section of the shaft Mike?
Yes, but needs machining and moving the bearings
Hallo whats going on in Canada I heard there are Demonstrations?? Lets know, Please !! Have a Good Time
the hard will come?!
Nothing in my area
How much will cost a Overhaul of a Gearbox R380 in your Shop estimated ? ecause I will send One to you .
All the Ohre Ashcroft and Winchestergear I do not really trust!! So I can keep my Gearox its working 320000 km on it but losing Oil !!
With an overhaul and bench test is C$850 plus parts (customer buys and supplies parts recommended)
Your magnificent deck is as dry as a bone. What are you on about? lol. 🙈👍🏻🙏🦘
