So basically Sora decided to be a cool ff character and Donald And Goofy unintentionally made a deal with a devil to bring Noctis back and "Save" Sora by beating the crap out of him and for trying to one up him for stealing his "design" and swagger.

Finally the most convoluted lore of Kingdom Hearts has been answered…. what was in Sora’s shoes.
Feet? The purpose of shoes is to satisfy feet. Your vendor of shoes will have no problem satisfying even the stodgiest of customers, or the "Stodgestomer".

Legit someone already determined that the apartment Sora was in at the beginning of the trailer is in the Aoyama district which is the richest and most expensive area of Tokyo to live in. So Sora really is living the high life.
Also someone said this was how Nomura brought back FF Versus 13.
Is anyone kinda hoping that now with the ‘real world’ being used we get to see the TWEWY cast make a return since this is technically an afterlife for Sora?

I mean, we know from Hercules that worlds can have there own Afterlife’s and the final world is like the super afterlife or something so it’s likely that Sora found himself in a Traverse Town like world except instead of being a magnet for people lost from there worlds falling to darkness this world attracts basically dead people’s hearts I guess.

I feel like now that the Xehenort saga has been completed, a weight that has been bogging down Nomura is gone, so now he can go ham and get stuff out faster.
That weight was something called “working on a project called Verses 13 for nearly ten years only to slowly lose control of the project, watch it turn into something outside of your vision, and slowly get phased out to work on the other big series you put on hold, just to work on this project we wanted you for in the first place.”
He's not going to though. Only thing that's fast about it is that they did not announce a shit ton of spinoffs. Still some shitty mobile game stuff, and this game is not going to come out for another 4 years

True he has pretty much a fresh start now and not only that there's a ton of assets they did'nt have when they started 3. Including playable versions of Riku, Aqua, Roxas, and Kairi, the potential for what 4 can be is looking pretty good. So long as him and Osaka team keep pushing to improve I'm not going to worry, 3 was an awesome game considering the limitations they had and I look forward to seeing what they can do now that those problems are'nt there.
@@Zephhi Dude he specifically mentioned that he decided on doing 4 because he did'nt want fans to wait too long on that cliffhanger. So 4 is clearly his top priority, also this trailer is all gameplay footage granted yes it's short but that's a really good sign that things are going smoothely.

That idea, the idea of this fiction being juuuust outside of our world so we can never confirm or deny it, that was my favorite part of TWEWY’s extended lore. The idea that the soft-magic system of Soul and Imagination in effect made human willpower and the capacity to change people through art and creativity into literal reality-warping superpowers was oddly powerful to me.
Many people think that Donald and Goofy are gonna go to worlds having to do with death, like the Underworld, Coco, and Soul.
Interesting so we might see what happened to Hades after he got defeated in the Hercules Movie.
Huh that actually makes sense since they were referring to Quadratum as the afterlife. And since Riku went to Quadratum then I could easily see Kairi joining Donald and Goofy. We could have like 3 different storylines and gameplay going on if they went in that direction. Hmm interesting. Am excited to see what they do.

With this new direction Kingdom Hearts 4 is seemigly taking, I could totally see Marvel and Star Wars stuff showing up. God, imagining Spider-Man interacting with KH characters is such a crazy thought

So, something I've heard from speculation.
Look closely at the forest. In one shot, near the river, you see that weird looking rock over at the top right corner. Apparently, that looks like the foot of an AT-ST.
You know what that means?
Also, something else from speculation.
Apparently, when making the next game, Nomura was torn between making Verum Rex of KH4. Ultimately, he ended up making KH4 first because of worries about Sora from the fans.
This is all based on stuff I've heard from other people, however. I don't know the full story.

I think that Quadratum is going to be how they work Star Wars and Marvel stuff into the game. Quadratum is supposed to be the "other side of reality." And it looks like Quadratum is a place where Sora looks like a normal human being, which would make it much easier for him to feature alongside Star Wars and Marvel Characters without looking weird (like how it so often went in the PotC worlds).

When I first saw the images from the trailer on Twitter I low key though they were fake 🤣. The idea of a KH4 trailer coming out so soon when we basically waited our entire lives for KH3 just seemed unrealistic to me. But this game is looking sick and I’m all here for it.

Cool detail I noticed that may or may not be intentional, but still interesting
Back in BBS & the flashbacks in KH1 we saw li’l baby Sora, his hair was spiky, but slightly flatter than how it would grow. Then during KH1 Sora’s hair is more pointy & upward, which while it gets shorter as time goes on, it still is pretty pointy for a while
Now after Sora let Ventus out of his heart & back to his original body & he only has himself in his heart, his hair is flat again.
Again I’m not sure if this was indeed intentional, but it seems the more people in his heart, the pointy Sora’s hair got, but now that Ventus, Roxas, & Xion are all free from his heart, it’s flattened back to how it was before anyone else became a part of him.

Immagine them revealing a second video that shows Rindo just as Nico ends NEO twewy. On one hand, it sounds like impossibly good timing. On the other hand...it's Nico.
From a designer's perspective, Sora's outfit looks like something from the Gatto Nero X Roen (or Gatto Nero x Black Honey Chili Cookie) SS22 collection. The jacket itself is cut in a way that gives it a similar taper to Neku's jacket in NEO, while the pants are a less edgy and more "Shibuya chic" interpretation of the Roen pants Noctis wears.
Seems fitting considering the close ties Nomura had with the late Hiromu Takahara who was the creative director of Roen back during the development of FF Versus XIII. Takahara left to establish Black Honey Chili Cookie where he and his brand BHCC then ended up in NEO TWEWY, as well as becoming the manufacturer of some official KHIII merch.
His clothes actually look pretty similar to the artwork Nomura did for the Supergroupies promo a while back. (It's also the artwork you see when you complete KH3 Critical Mode.)

I have a strong feeling this game could easily be releasing in 2024 or 25. I know people joke about that it'll take a long time like KH3. But I think the SE teams have mastered Unreal Engine. Square also seems like they don't have to go through copyright hell to hopefully get some franchises (like Pixar in KH3). I have a good feeling this will be a smooth development.

@@oreotaku4017 Not exactly true. As he was working on NEO: The World Ends With You (the sequel to one of his other creations) most likely during KH4's pre production, Final Fantasy Remake 2, and now he's finishing up Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. Nomura still has a lot on his plate.
It is quite possible though that development will be smoother this time around give the Kingdom Hearts teams mastery of Unreal. Kingdom Hearts III a lot of people don't realize was in development hell for years. Also the shift away from Disney properties might actually help as Nomura famously said KH III took so long because of Pixar's refusal to cooperate for a long time. There will probably be very little Disney meddling this time as there was with KH III. Though I cannot promise anything on Square's end as they tend to rush their developers, Kingdom Hearts III being no different since Re:Mind was created because of that reason.
It's funny, the only director they seem to not rush is Yoko Taro for whatever reason. They just kind of let him do what he wants.

@@ericlegacy8834 Yeah. Plus the change from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 is not a MASSIVE leap like from the Luminos Engine to UE4. It's actually a pretty seemless transition. I'd expect KH4 late 2023 to early to mid 2024.

Hades deals with the Underworld or afterlife, right? He canonically brought back a FF character from a whole other world back to life. So Donald and Goofy seeing him might not be a bad idea for at least some info.
All the might of Square Enix wasn't enough to completely kill Versus XIII, everything Nomura wants Nomura gets.
I have a crazy theory:
- We know that the FF characters that are in
KH aren’t exactly the same as they are in FF
- The Vs13 characters where changed a bit when becoming FF15 just enough to say they are different characters
- We know Yozora doesn’t really look like he appears to Sora
- Yozora’s name means “Night Sky” the same as Noctis
- Yozora is literally Vs13 Noctis being placed in KH as a counterpart to the FF15 version of him
- Nomura is a God tier MADLAD

I just realised if Sora stays in this afterlife for the whole game this will be the first Numbered Kingdom Hearts game you’ll play without Donald and Goofy as you party members. If that’s so will we play as Sora solo or will different companions tag along Sora the whole game and who would they be. My money is on Strelitzia

Yeah, yeah Kingdom Hearts 4 is coming and that's cool. But I'm surprised nobody is commenting on the name of the new arc for the series.
_The Lost Master Arc._ It seems like the main focus and possibly antagonist is gonna be the Master of Masters or that one master that the other ones talked about in the ending of KH3, considering the previous arc was the Xehanort Saga assuming the name of arcs will coincide with their overarching antagonist.
Also other comments mention it but man... imagine if the TWEWY characters show up. Also I think the reason Donald and Goofy are potentially visiting Hades is due to him being god of the underworld. Maybe they think that Sora's there.
I can't wait for all the TWEWY references, because there's got to be a lot with them being in Shibuya 😀

Omg, I thought I'd be pushing 40 by the time KH4 was announced. So fucking hyped for this. I was a bit worried that because I wasn't as fond of KH3, that it'd kill my excitement for future installments, but nope! The brainwashing still holds strong Nomura!

I actually don’t like how Sora looks here and I HOPE it’s just for the Quadratum world. As much as we might love the Final Fantasy stuff in these games, I liked that Kingdom Hearts had its own style. I really wasn’t asking for “photorealistic” Sora with normal clothes, I kinda want the big goofy shoes and the eccentric outfit back.

I think Donald & Goofy went is because of what Strelytzya said "this world is like a sort of underworld"
I was sure we would get KH4 next yet I was still really excited during the announcement

Watching the trailer for the millionth time I finally noticed how epic the music is. Going to listen to this soundtrack even more than this.

Also, let's not forget that Quadratum is considered "fictional". I mean, it's the setting of a video game in-universe, after all.
ALSO also, I still have a nagging feeling that Ava might be involved here. If only because "zorra" (Spanish for "female fox") is kinda in Yozora's name (and Sora's, sort of).
My guess is that they will a day and night cycle. During the day you can run around, buy items, and look for chests. During the night is when you can fight heartless for experience.
Nomura did say a whle back that the next KH title would be a surprise. He wasn't wrong. We had to wait THIRTEEN YEARS for KHIII. And now we get a revealtrailer for KHIV just over 3 years after KHIII. Fucking madness.
Considering how real this Shibuya is, I don’t think there’s going to be TWEWY content in this game :(

I have a feeling Quadratum might be our KH III Twilight Town/Hub World.
Maybe (hopefully) for the prologue Sora will get thrown into a Reaper's Game and get new threads and learns some new tricks before he ends up in Quadratum.
This is secondhand hearsay, but apparently in the rhythm game they drop the detail that Quadratum is the name of the TWEWY world in Kingdom Hearts lore. All spinoffs contain plot necessary lore, Nico, all do.

Also Alittle fact: For those who don’t know, the number 4 in Japan represents death and the quad in quadradum is 4, so it almost makes sence that Quadradum would be an afterlife world for Sora and Strelitzia

Kingdom Hearts is 20. I'm personally very glad with the changes their making. It's almost as if the franchise is maturing with the audience. Plus if we got ff characters back, the games a 10
I love how the older Sora gets his shoes become smaller and smaller.
The realistic part is likely going to be only this world I mean look at Donald and Goofy at the end.
I initially was hoping that Sora would be absent the next game due to him being straight dead despite how much I love playing as him, because I really do feel like he should pay what he’s owed for how bad he’s broken the laws of nature in KH3
However, they’re making it sound a lot like Sora is here in Quadratum after death to pay with his life, as in his old life, the life he can no longer go back to. And if this means Sora can face the consequences fairly while he gets to remain the protagonist, then I have to admit that this is a very veeeeery genius move on Nomura’s part, I am absolutely down for this setup, well played man
I mean it to be expected Sora would be back he’s the main character. And Nomura has gone on record to say Sora would always be the Main Character. That doesn’t mean we won’t get games like Days, BBS, or MoM anymore where other characters take the spotlight but for any main title at least Sora’s here to stay.

I would like to point out something that seems to confuse people here when they hear that statement guys when she said "similar" to an afterworld that doesn't mean that this is the afterworld. The reason why I'm saying this is because of this statement everyone thought Sora dead/died and came here but that's not what happened. What happened was because Sora constant misuse of the power of waking he was thinning his existence in his reality when he did it one last time to save Kairi he thinned his existence too much so he ended up fading/bleeding into the next reality that doesn't count as death/dying or being erased from existence since everyone still remembers him and that his heart his still connected to the people close to him just weaker as shown in melody of memory where the memory Xehanort said that he can still reach here but his voice can not reach very far. As for how Strelitzia showed up here I have no idea although I do have a few theory's on what's going except I need more information to be certain.

That forest part of the trailer, people saw the foot of what looks like an AT-ST or AT-AT which all but confirms that's the forest moon of Endor from Star Wars but others say it might be the forests of Harajuku since Quadratum is based on real life Japan.

You know. Call me crazy. I don't think that's the Sora we know, you know. I know that I'm probably going to be wrong in the end, but something doesn't seem right about him. He's silent, almost stoic, despite his situation, and his exaggerated nature in 3. His proportions are noticeably off, and I don't think that's just the 'Quadratum Filter'. Despite it being 7 days, according to Streletzia, Sora looks significantly different from his KH3 rendition, with an older looking face, frame, and new haircut.
In the end of Remind, when Sora and Yozora are meeting in the Final World and talking, Sora recognizes him from Verum Rex as a guy called 'Yozora', but Yozora says 'This isn't what I really look like. How do you recognize me as Yozora?'
What if there's some weird Nomura-like mechanic in Quadratum where for some reason people can look like others, and mimic their abilities, but not perfectly. Despite apparently not being Yozora, the boss we fight wields his weapons with ease, and can copy the keyblade into his sword if he catches you.
Call me dumb, or a conspiracy theorist, but despite everything, I think there's a possibility of that not being Sora, and it's kinda fun, albeit kinda terrifying, to theorize on it and think on it.
It would be cool to have a similar bait and switch as kh2 where we think we play as sora but in this case its actually yozora
This is a great theory. But just to tweak it a little, I think thatvwas Sora. However, as a plot twist, Sora may eventually become Yozora as a future self.
Because at the end of KH3, Sora technically died. So that manifestation of himself for that timeline may be the one we see in this trailer (hence being older), but there is another "version" of Sora fought to survive like seen in Re:mind. In Marvel terms (Loki to be specific), Yozora is a "variant" of Sora who arrived and stayed in Quadratum longer before the Re:mind version eventually caught up with him after saving Kairi.
