I did this recipe and even though my gammon was not the correct shape or size… it was more like a fillet it tasted amazing!!! I tried it with the correct meat and it was the best thing ever… thank you for the easy to follow recipe
Hi Aaron, I like your enthusiasm, lovely and easy way to show how to make a delicious gammon. God bless you and Merry Christmas. Greetings from Pretoria.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎊 and Happy New year 🎉🥳, Chef ❤! I have just cooked my gammon 🍖 using your recipe! Good God, it looks amazing 😍, it tastes amazing 😋! Thank you so much, Aaron, from myself, my husband and our cat Vasya 🐈⬛️! 🤗😘
Dang. I did 5 Christmas vids on my channel, I see I have well and truly been beaten! Gonna make a honey glaze tomorrow. I don't have most of the ingredients, but I do have cinnamon and nutmeg... Would have never thought to add them but will now! Thanks Chef 👌
Hey Aaron loving this recipe i’m attempting to do this on Christmas Day but by gammon joint is only 1.5kg . How long should I boil and roast it for you reckon ?
Thanks Henry! For a 1.5kg.. I would say boil it for around 45mins. It doesn't need to be roasted for a certain amount of time as the gammon is already cooked through from boiling. The oven time is all about the glaze. It will get thicker and more intense with every layer poured over and each flash in the oven. So it's totally up to you but I would say roast for 40mins, taking it out every 10mins to pour over more glaze .. should do the trick 👍🏼 Hope this helps mate and I hope you have a great Christmas!
@chef Aaron Middleton, I need your advice on this, apparently boiling your gammon was a trend like 10 years ago but what it actually does is completely drain all the flavour out of it? Please let me know your thoughts
Correct! As a rule, raw gammon is always too salty and will need to be soaked beforehand, as in this video. A lot of shops will now sell it already cooked (and soaked) so for those you just need to roast and glaze. Hope that helps! Happy cooking.
I love the look of the cloves but how do you avoid eating them by accident? Nothing worse than biting into a 100 Kiloton perfume bomb thay destorys yoir pallete when trying to enjoy a nice meal
I’m going to make this at Christmas (looks great) but have two queries: 1. The recipe says to use zest and juice of two oranges but, in the video, you use three? Which is the correct measurement? 2. The recipe lists 5 spice but you use nutmeg in the video. Can you use either?
Chef Aron, I know you probably spent 24 hours cooking up these 25 dishes for us but ground nutmeg? 😱 You explained how you ground your pepper each week, how come not the nutmeg? Anyways, I am just nitpicking, thanks for the great content! Much respect!
Boil it twice instead! Change the water half way through boiling 💪🏼 That should help bring the salt content down. Hope you enjoy mate!! Merry mini Christmas 🎄
@Chef Aaron Middleton legend, thanks mate. Thanks for all the content. I've pretty much copied all of it apart from the bread sauce. Great videos! 👍 Appreciate it.

How many portions do you get out of 2,5 kg?
What would you recommend for 20 people?
I would say do 2 of these 2.5kg for 20 normal people (2 slices each)... 3 if there are some greedy boys & girls in your group 😂
I love your voice
I'm defo doing this for a pre Christmas meal with the In-laws.
Cheers!
Fantastic! Hope you enjoy 💪🏼 Happy Christmas🎄

This recipe is for a raw gammon, but you could use the glaze on a ham for sure! Great idea!
@@chefaaronmiddleton Yes, I have a raw gammon, but with the bone!
What are the herbs that are put in the pot first?
I made this last year ans it was sooooo good but I've misplaced the recipe. How do i get it?
ALL recipes can now be found on the academy 🙌🏼

You can 10000% do it ahead of time!
What aromatic herbs did you put in the pot to boil the ham please?
I need the full recipe list on here please! Tyia
What temperature for the oven? Anyone?? Please!
What are the cloves please?
Whats the degree of oven Aron ?
@chef Aaron Middleton, I need your advice on this, apparently boiling your gammon was a trend like 10 years ago but what it actually does is completely drain all the flavour out of it? Please let me know your thoughts
Guys don’t follow this without a recipe, we ended up with marmalade ham 😭😭
😊. Hope you had a better new year, &, post more videos!!
Please tell me where to get this meat in the US🎉
It will probably just called a ham. You want it cured, uncooked and unsmoked. Ask a butcher near you
Great vid! Is it possible to get a gammon in the US? Every recipe I see is from a Brit lol
Sorry for calling you a big show version of Andy hearden mate you one of the best social media chefs take it back.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
I’m so fucking random did I just say that trollollololol
Alguien me puede decir cuantas horas lo cocino primero y cuantas horas después ? No entiendo inglés 😢
Una hora y media más o menos, pero mi parece muy poco
I made this last Christmas & I’m back again this year! Chef, where can I buy the cookbook? 😂
Iv'e actually made a FREE Christmas Cookbook with all these recipes in! Head to my channel to download it 😄
So your gammon is raw I get from this, but it is brined? How do you know it is too salty upfront?
Correct! As a rule, raw gammon is always too salty and will need to be soaked beforehand, as in this video. A lot of shops will now sell it already cooked (and soaked) so for those you just need to roast and glaze. Hope that helps! Happy cooking.
Can I put the *Gammon” into a crock pot for abt 2 hrs on high?
How long in the oven for?
All in the description for you 😃
Don’t you need to remove th cloves? Thanks
If you want to, for sure!
Who wouldn't? I don't want to eat whole cloves!
@@hugotendam5349 I’ve never used them before
Exquisite
I love the look of the cloves but how do you avoid eating them by accident? Nothing worse than biting into a 100 Kiloton perfume bomb thay destorys yoir pallete when trying to enjoy a nice meal
You can pull them out before serving 😃
Que deliiiii
Ahhhhhhh Thank youuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!
How many kilos was this gammon?
Oven temperature

2. The recipe lists 5 spice but you use nutmeg in the video. Can you use either?
What if it's smoked?
Even better! No need to soak it, just go straight to the boiling 💪🏼 Enjoy 🎄
It doesn’t tell you what heat the oven should be or how long it’s meant to be in the over. 🙈
Chef Aron, I know you probably spent 24 hours cooking up these 25 dishes for us but ground nutmeg? 😱 You explained how you ground your pepper each week, how come not the nutmeg? Anyways, I am just nitpicking, thanks for the great content! Much respect!
It’s what I had in the cupboard 👍🏼
This video needs parental lock because I’m getting wild thoughts 😈😈
Please don't have sex with the ham..

Boil it twice instead! Change the water half way through boiling 💪🏼 That should help bring the salt content down. Hope you enjoy mate!! Merry mini Christmas 🎄
