The reason Brawl died the first time is because Wotc didnt keep up on the banlist and people got tired of literally losing against Baral every game. But yea I’m only a commander player and rotating formats have zero interest to me.
Cool video. My commander decks all play a ton of Theros block cards. I know Amonkhet was not very well liked, but if this list is revisited a few years from now I would say that block put alot into commander also.

For me Alara is up there - even If I hate Mythic as a rarity, the way the concept was first introduced (on big, flashy creatures that could singlehandedly turn the tides of Battle...but never saw that much play) was great. I loved the Alara block and it remains one of my most favorite ones till today.
You missed Swan Song from Theros, which is arguably a dominant spell in CEDH pods as well as in most edh play in general. That and Mental Misstep are in almost every blue cedh list.
Damia is my personal favorite Commander. I had just gotten into magic, and was playing standard during Mirrodin Besieged, I learned EDH not long after and the Commander Decks dropped. Going from a really bad Mono-Black deck to a brand new BUG deck was really cool.
Are you kidding? so many Commander Staples are from Kamigawa it is ridiculous. Azami, Godo, Top, Kodama's Reach and most of the Legendary Lands from this Block are just a few examples of cards you find in almost every meta. Saying Kamigawa is not important for Commander is like saying Modern Horizons didn't influence Modern.
Nah I bet you could go to a random lgs and tell everyone to take all the kamigawa block cards out of their decks and unless they're playing yuriko most people won't have to make any changes, and if they do it's only for top, that's it. Kodama's reach is nothing. There's cultivate, but you should be playing farseek, nature's lore and rampant growth over the 3 drop ramp spells anyways.
LOL After playing lots of games with my mono blue FBLTHP EDH deck, I am considering FBLTHP to be a god. Good choices on blocks, I'd like to think Mirage/Visions helped add to EDH with the tutors but I suppose not nearly enough compared to these other sets:P
Theros and Khans should be higher as well ad Kamigawa on the list. Theros provided some top 5 generals per the color identity( Thasa, Iroas, Atheros to name a few) as well as provide some great clutch cards like heroes down fall and anger of the gods. Also the scry lands, nykthos and mana confluence are staples. Khans gave some crazy goid generals in narset, surrak, sidisi, tasigur, dromoka, dl dromoka, dl ojutai and anafenza the foremost. Lets not forget Ugin, tri color lands, new gain lands, fetch reprints and some monkey goblins.
While I dont disagree with you on ravnica's identity Alara has reasons for the color pie. A few examples: Bant: White and green are self explanatory, but blue is there for the organization of law in bant. White and green create the soldiers and the citizens, blue holds to law Grixis: Red and black speaks of evil, while blue shows how intelligence can just as well interact with evilness and contribute to it with cunning lies and deceit For tha Khans of tarkir: Sultai: Black and Green provide the dirty, grimy feel of the naga, while blue shows they are the more intelligent clan, more so than the others anyways Mardu has red and white as a show of strength and kinship among the orcs, while black being a submissive color in the clan, shows how while strength and kinship matter in the clan, those in power often take greed (i.e. the way Zurgo (i think?) Backstabbed sarkhan and killed Narset). Again, Ravnica gives a much better justification for a colors inclusion, but Alara and Ktk I feel do their jobs very well, and its more difficult than two color explanations. Imagine how hard itd be to justify 4 colors.
Ravnica.... ugh. Sorry but I feel like it was the worst plane when it comes to Magic. It feels too much like every two color card since then was supposed to be on that plane. They decided a guild does something, then every time they pair those colors again in any other set, they do what they did on Ravnica when there are other ways they could combine them. Look how long it took for them to make red-blue artificers? They were so focused on the Izzet spellslingers that they ignored their shared affinity for artifacts, even on Ravnica. They gave the guild the metal Mizzium that they use to create artifacts in the first set. Then in the two visits following, nothing.
Commander is all about identity, and perhaps that's why Brawl not doing very well since the identity gets rotated out.

The legendary land cycle is good, I'll give you that, but at $20 a piece most people are passing on those.
The Amonkhet block is pretty special to me. And Ixalan for the dinosaurs 😀
