The top part of the shifter should have been rotated 180 by loosing the bolt and pulling it from the shaft and rotating it 180 sliding it back on the shaft and tightening the bolt.

No fault codes. Test ride and subsequent rides were perfect. Shifting is smooth as butter and foot position is simpler and easier with GP shift.
