Balmora has a special place in my heart. I set up permanent residence in the bunks in the Mage’s Guild. Never a good night’s sleep, stockpiled multiple DB assassins and Ash Vampires there. I knew the route to every shop from the Guild. When I used recall after finishing the main quest I wound up standing in my silly bug robe on the middle bridge at night. Left her in the same place after finishing Tribunal. I like to think she’s finally sleeping peacefully in her bunk. Thank you for this - it’ll help me sleep too!
Best place to settle down in Balmora has got to be Hlaalo Manor. Plenty of room and containers, not to mention Ralen Hlaalo's corpse is permanent and is an infinite capacity container. You can put any and everything you want on him.
The one thing that made Morrowind so great and immersive is the distance and travel in that game. Places feel special since they aren't easily fast traveled to like in modern games.
I don't play the games (I'd last 2 minutes max.), but the entusiasm in the comments from those who do makes me realise the videos you make are important to a lot of people.
You should definitely try Morrowind! The combat mechanics are very simple. The graphics have not aged well, but the story and the world are expansive and fantastic
I once found a shipwreck that was full of pillows. I took them all and built a pillow fort on the middle bridge. Probably my favorite memory of time wasted.
This one hits pretty close to home because I remember taking over the weapon shop in Balmora back in the day as one of my own homes. Painstakingly decorating it with all of the rare items I found throughout the game, long before item placement and manipulation was a thing around Skyrim. It took me literal days, but I remember how perfect I had placed everything, and how much emotion I had when I found another piece of rare Daedric armor. Oblivion and Skyrim were incredible, but lacked the feel, ambience, and challenge of a game like Morrowind.
24 years after it's release and I still find myself playing Morrowind from time to time. The ambiance of Balmora was always my favorite. After completing the Fighter's Guild Quest to kill the Orc in a home near the water, I always made that my permanent residence. I always took as many blue lanterns and candles I could find to fill my home with them, creating a calming blue glow. The Mark and Recall spells were always a go-to when I would travel and become over-encumbered. I think I know what to play this weekend. :)
OML THIS IS GOOD! The nostalgia for me is unreal. This just took me back to the endless amount of late summer nights I'd spend playing Morrowind until the sun came up. Hope more Morrowind content like this will come out soon!
@@lostmusicco Balmora, Vivec City, Seyda Neen, and Suran were some of my personal favorite places to spend time just wandering, roleplaying, and interacting with NPCs, so any content from those places will always be appreciated. There are so many possibilities though... the more ideas I think of, the more memories come back to me. There's the Tribunal, the Dwemer ruins, the Corprusarium, the Great Houses, the Ashlands, the Ancestral Tombs, the 6th House, Red Mountain and Ghost Gate, Mournhold... not to mention the general world environments. The game was so alien, yet somehow so believable, at the same time.
Could you please upload a video with Morrowinds rain sounds along with the music. I put these on a lot when I sleep and recently saw you started uploading from Morrowind, thank you so much for all the peace and rest you have helped everyone including me get these past few years.
I remember bashing my head against a wall because I couldn't hit anything due to hit accuracy. I thought about installing a mod that makes it so you always hit but decided against it. And I'm glad, once you figure out WHY you aren't hitting this game becomes so much easier and so much more fun.
Love your ES Ambient videos, my fav is the moonlight moors of Morthal. Put it on when I go to bed, it helps me sleep. Probably half the views there are just me. Can you do an ambient track for the game Kenshi?
You don't play Morrowind to fight or finish quests. You play Morrowind to collect and mount every unique or limited number of useless items, armors, potions, books, skulls, clothes or even corpses.
I still remember the first time I ever saw Balmora. I'd just taken a wrong turn into the Foyada Mamaea and barely escaped a cliff racer, and I was so on edge that I took a pot shot at the poor Argonian (can't remember their name) walking around by the gate as they emerged from the mist... I've never been so utterly bewildered and enchanted by any game since Morrowind.
Hey! I really enioy the battle music, but I've definitely gotten negative feedback on it from this video so I'll make sure to exclude it in the future! I have another video from Seyda Neen that I believe excludes it, you may like that video more: th-cam.com/video/CVWx1UO6eX4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=udwWwrvAZs-EPK7d
Hey! Sorry about that! I really enjoy that track and find it the least combatish of all the elder scrolls songs so that's why I included it. I'll remember for next time though! Thanks for watching!

The elder scrolls games have a difficulty scaler so you can make it easy enough for you to survive and enjoy yourself

I did the same thing but on a wrecked ship south of Vivec! Morrowind was truly a special game! Thanks for sharing!
It's all fun and chill until I hear the battle music and my brain adds the SQUAAAWK cliffracer sounds like some kind of shell shock PTSD
🤣🤣🤣
I definitely questioned the peaceful aspect of this music list when the battle music played haha
It was ~20 years ago, but I still can hear clearly this SQUAAAWK in my head...it will haunt me till the end

this takes me back! Thanks for the lovely video❤️
Beautiful, I only lack one detail - a "scream" of the silt strider.
An up-vote anyways.
Balmora during a calm, peaceful night... It's so nice to go there to escape the real world and just exist there for a while 😌
Thank you for making this balmora is very chill.
wish i could enjoy this game for the first time again.
The freedom of choice and lack of essential characters was overwhelming for me. Jeez I slaughtered so many Elves
22 years. now i am 36...after Diablo 2, Half-Life, Quake III, Warcraft, Starcraft.....i found this treasure. Morrowind forever the best chapter of TES
Thank you ❤ all of your TES Videos are my alltime favorites at work.

Great and so many memories! Would love to have a slow walk through it instead, but still a great video! Greetz from germany!
I remember dying several times to the mud crabs in the Marshes when I was just level 1 when I first started playing the game lol

Yeah that is the biggest issue in the game! Once you can hit stuff, it's so awesome👌
Ra'Virr's shop on first pic, cat trickster, my favourite place on selling stuff
