I had such a good time playing and MD'ing for Easter 2023 at Abounding Grace Ministries (AGM). Pastor Chad Brown led us into an amazing rendition of a John P. Kee classic "Jesus is Real"!!! By far the funkiest, most exciting musical Easter I've had so far!!! Hope you enjoy.

First thing I noticed is the smile on his face playing. That's genuine joy, let alone of the skill and precision of the band. This was a joy to watch
As a former head musician of a full church band, I fully appreciate how well you are leading your band! I wish the places I've played had thought of this set up where only the musicians can hear you in that mic and you can call out the chord changes. Awesome leadership in ministry!

Man. If our choir director even considered enough to tell us the NAME of the song let alone the chords as they pass 😂 this guy is a beast. Playing under you, you’d constantly be learning to hear the chord changes and how the modes shift

The musicians did a wonderful job filling the song out to its full potential and I thank you for not out playing over the singers everything gelled together nicely.
As a keyboardist and someone who has led arrangements like this, there is a relaxed intensity of concentration going on here. His comfort level is refreshing but I am not fooled. He and his band are working. And they are working hard. Each of those call outs he uses is a pre-practiced set of moves and they used a lot of them…that’s not something that just happens. It’s a lot of brain power and experience and yes practice with the same group of people. I would hesitate to say that he is not focused on worship since this level of performance requires a lot of your attention. You would see these guys hearts in the rehearsal and every group I worked with genuinely wanted to give God a gift of excellence not just get some recognition from people…

This song 🎶 tends to be over-done by some musicians, especially the drums. But you guys kept your cool, and it came out clean sounding and beautiful. I could hear all of the music, and all of the singers. Pure 🔥
I actually had a chance to talk about this with John P Kee, this video went viral on social media and he connected with me. He appreciated our humility in simply delivering the song in the powerful yet clean way it's supposed to be delivered. When the music is already written that well, there's no point in changing it too much or trying to show off over it. Just let the song speak for itself. I'm happy it spoke to you. Never seen any of your videos before, but you showed up and listened. Growing up and John p Kee was always played in the house I must say. I think that he surely would love what you have done with your spin on his song. This was a hype song back then for that generation. Thank you for making it a hype and fun song for this generation. Keep up the great work man. Would love to see you on a Hammond if you don’t already have a video out there.
I have some videos here and there on my social media playing hammond. But I respect the art form too much. I consider myself a pianist who can fake his way through organ, if other options aren’t available Ahahaha but being an ORGANIST, is a whole science and REAL organists are absolutely insane musicians 😂🎶👍🏻
