Items You Will Need:
- IKEA Besta Lappviken Shelf Unit With Doors (Article No: 490.473.79)
- 2 Cut Mirror Pieces (23 1/2” x 24”) - Lowes will cut it for you
- 2 Cece O'verlays Kit for Lappviken or Vara 23-5/8" x 25" Door
- Oil Based Primer (Odorless)
- Acrylic Latex Paint (Satin)
- Knylon Gold Foil Spray Paint (From Amazon)
- Handy Paint Cup
- Painter’s Tray
- China Brush
- Nylon Brush
- 4” Foam Paint Roller
- Scissors
- Gloves (Recommended)
- Face Mask (Recommended)
- Plastic/Paper Drop Cloth
- Paint Stirrer
- Gallon sized zip-lock bag
- Trash bag
- Loctite PL 530 Mirror, Marble & Granite
- Caulk Gun
- Liquid Nails (Small Version)
- Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol
- 220 Grit Sandpaper
- 10 Large Clamps
Project Cost: Under $200 (depending on type of spray paint and materials you use and if you already have the IKEA Shelf Unit with doors). This is much cheaper than buying one already made. I believe the cost for something like this would be around $400 - $800.

the plastic bag in a cup for re-use is a fabulous idea. the wettened papertowel, not so much...if you would have used a lightly wet microfiber cloth, it'd been much easier an less time consuming and wouldn't waste so much papertowels but good job, looks great!

Actually, you can use old newspaper. My mom use to do this to clean (glass) windows.

Wonderful ideas! I like how you provide details on getting paint on particle board instead of just painting it and crossing fingers. I painted an ikea chest of drawers but I used chalk paint- your process would be more durable. I recommend legs! And I agree- if you watch it, 👍 it!!” It takes a lot of effort to do your project!!

If you hold the tip of a vacuum cleaner hose close to where you’re sanding, you can vacuum up most of the dust as you go.

I was taught to always sand with the grain but I notice lots of people are sanding in all directions. Is that a new way of doing it? Love your videos. You have a nice calm voice and you give great tips and ideas!
Thanks for sharing that. Not sure if it's a new way of doing it. In my mind, I believe there are many ways to accomplishing the same goal. Sanding it the way I did worked for me. I'm very happy with my results. I say, if you like sanding it with the grain, do what you know that works :-) I'm always open to different techniques. I'm glad you mentioned that and thank you for the compliments. You are very kind.
