  • Butter Biscuits are soft and melt-in-your-mouth biscuits. Making these biscuits at home is quite simple and does not require much baking experience. These can be made using dalda or margarine, but the use of butter provides the best flavour and texture to the biscuits. The tricky part - rolling the mixture to about 1 cm even layer to cut into desired shapes needs a bit of patience. Don’t roll hard while making the even layer, otherwise the biscuits will become hard!
    I hope you will experience those melt-in-your-mouth bites with this recipe! Try and share your experience in the comments below.
    Ingredients:
    1.5 cups of Maida (all purpose flour)
    ⅔ cup of melted Butter (Ghee)
    ½ cup of Sugar
    1 Cardamom
    ½ tsp Baking Soda
    ¼ tsp Salt
    Good to make 40-50 biscuits, based on the biscuit/cookie cutter size!

    Hi I tried this with exact cup measurements. 2/3 cup I measured as 157 ml butter.But I was not able to make the big rectangle and do the cookie cutter shapes.The dough crumbled .I had to cling wrap as a rectangle bar and place them in fridge.After 30 min, I took them out,cut into small squares.What could have gone wrong with the shaping? Can you let me know? Taste was good though.

    • @AlloraBites
      @AlloraBites  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your attempt, and the question! From your explanation, it looks like you made the dough in correct consistency. The dough will crumble, but while making it as a layer, you need to gently tap, bring together and form the layer. Then it will be easier to use any shape cutter to make shapes likes shown. I hope this will be helpful, please give a try and let me know your experience. cheers. 😊

    I made these biscuits today. I made a mistake by adding without measure the butter. Which lead in flat biscuit 😂. But it’s yum and melts in mouth.
    Tip: for some who like sweet biscuits should add more sugar. Because its more like salty biscuits.

      Simple, 1cup flour will be 120gm and the same for sugar it will be 200gm. So based on the quantity of preparation, the ingredients proportions can be measured accordingly before starting the process. I hope this helps. Happy baking! 😊
