I would agree the concreate would stablelize better in the long run. When my grandfather did clothes lines he would build the T first and then drill the holes he needed. Then he would dig the holes. He said it made it easier to put pressure on the drill to do the screws,holes etc.
When he dug the post holes he would measure 1 1/2 - 2 feet deep level the post and concrete them in. Give it 24 -48 hours to set then install tension wire.
