Radical doesn’t keep anything around long. Every release is the greatest ever according to them, but within 6 months its replacement is already being poured
Yep. Phil has said it many times that very few bowlers buy more than one of the same ball. They always want something new, so he is always pumping out something new.

I love a lot of those hammer balls that are discontinued including the Envy Tour Pearl, Black Widow 2.0 “2 of them”, the Radioactive Vibe and the Black Widow Ghost.
I loved the Endeavor, but the Ivory Rhino is a great replacement. Troublemaker Pearl is one worth picking up on sale, such a great ball. Envy line is replaced by the Effect line more or less. Radioactive Vibe was an overlapping ball between the Ocean & Arctic. Definitely pickup a Ghost on closeout... but new Black Widows will come soon enough. Phil at Radical doesn’t like to keep balls around. Phil believes in churning out balls. There are already 5-10 new Radical balls approved. I’m surprised the Road wasn’t more popular, because for me it’s a very HyRoad pearl reaction. Xponent was great, but hated my Xponent Pearl. SPI desperately needs more low end options.
Really enjoy your videos on bowling equipment, I learn viable information on these bowling balls that I did not know. This has helped me build an arsenal and stops duplicating same type equipment. Thanks for a job well done.
Thanks for the information, hate to see a few of these leave, but always excited for new balls to be released. and you can't keep making all of them...
I hated the radioactive vibe. Great colors. It had the vibe core with a VERY strong cover. So strong, in fact, that I could never control it. So I sold it to someone else. I'm glad to have my black widow ghost still with it being gone now. It's the only ball that I bought a second one of after getting rid of it the first time. I got rid of it because I was bowling 3 different weights when I started bowling. A 14lb storm snap lock a friend of mine gave me to start hooking the ball, my main arsenal of 15lb balls, and a black widow ghost in 16lb. Once I got better, I started bowling 15lb exclusively.
I'm a bit surprised at some of these. The Trouble Maker Pearl is a great ball, and I still see them getting sold at decent bids on auctions online. Typically, it is around $80-120. love mine on wet or dry lanes. All of the Hammer balls go well, too. I just got my Archetype Hybrid drilled and am loving it so far. I was hoping for an Archetype pearl. I love the colorway of the series. The solid is awesome. I might have to grab another. And the Radicals are extremely great balls, too.
With the Envy Tour Pearl being discontinued, it's all but assured that there will be a pearl Effect or similar. I also can see a new Widow coming out as well, as new pearl Widows in the BW Nightmare and BW Night Breaker were released in Japan. January/February will be fun for Hammer. The question now becomes what will replace the Hazmat Hybrid. There's a huge gap in the MP line with this ball being retired.
