    Dear Miss Sophie, Thank you so very much for your easily understandable and easily applicable way to learn Cantonese tones. I have watched so many videos on TH-cam regarding tones but yours is the best as far as I am concerned. I especially like the fact that you put the tones (numbers) on the musical scale so that we can actually see the difference between, for example, tones 5 and 6. Those are quite tricky for me. I am an English as a Second Language Teacher and as a professional, I must tell you that you are a very good teacher. Again, thank you very much. Most cordially, Barbara

    the " number song " at the end is very nice !
    does it have a title/ name ?
    who is the singer ?
    is it a famous song, just with a new text , here just numbers?
    Thanks !

      I have showed the singer and the song's name in this video. Singer: 林子祥 George Lam. Song:数字人生 (number's life? or life's numbers?) ..For beginners , I suggest to learn the number's part ONLY.

    How come the second and the fifth tones are marked and sung or pronounced exactly the same way?

    1:01 ey yo, I'm not the only one who hears Tone 4 as being super low flat rather than the usual description of low falling

    • @ranulfdoswell
      @ranulfdoswell ปีที่แล้ว

      Except at 1:24, you can clearly hear as she says 零 that she's actually using a falling tone not a level tone.

      yes, Shuaib, you are right! Every new language for us are too hard.I am learning French now, too hard~I have been learning it for 2 years and a half, I can speak a little but too hard to understand what others say...

    • @lucasholter559
      @lucasholter559 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think canto is a piece of cake to start speaking once you get the tones down, there's nothing else really that's hard about speaking it

    • @sophieyang6372
      @sophieyang6372  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, it's not easy to master a new language. What I am sharing is a easier way to pronounce the tones...I am new in learning French. People said if we insist to learn the language everyday, we need to spend around 4 years that we can speak our sentences and also understand what others speak to us. I have been learning French for 2 years and a half, I can speak a little bit now and can feel a little progress everyday. . I think it's very important to insist. Bon courage.

    Thank you! I don’t think I’ll ever achieve fluency, i barely can barely manage mandarin, which is what they teach in American schools mostly. But my Dad is from guangzhou and it’d be nice to order yumcha rather than dim sum w him!
