Great to hear the technique worked for you. The pass rate for the hazard perception is 85%, so it is at lot easier than people first think. The questions are what people often fail on.
@@UKDrivingTest Hi there, what is this exact technique please? I have mine soon. click on the potential then 2/3 secs later on the developing hazard, is that the sure fire way to pass? thanks!
@@MissyP166 Yeah basically, but more like: - click on potential hazard - click IMMEDIATELY when it starts to develop, i.e. it starts to move or shows signs of movement towards you - click 1 second later.

Just passed my theory yesterday! Used the 3 click method on the hazard perception and got 59/75. Compared with 30/75 the week before! Thanks for your help :)
On numerous occasions I've spotted the hazardous vehicle before the opportunity to gain 5 points comes up. I then clicked again and scored 1, so I've lost 4 points several times over a couple of practice tests. I don't particularly feel like the test is all that great as it teaches you to focus too much on potential hazards around you, and not where you're actually going. You don't want to be frantically looking around for possible hazards, you want your eyes focused on the road. I think a much better implementation would be through emulation like the amusement arcade machines which have seats, dashboard controls, gears, etc. It would allow you to react to the hazards yourself, and score you based on your reactions. VR is another possible replacement for this aging test.
"you don't want to be frantically looking around for possible hazards" Hazard awareness is one of the key skill to be a safe driver, at first it may seem a bit frantic, but with practice it becomes very natural. Using VR in the future could well be a good option for the theory test.
I think they are just trying to get people to realise that many hazards can be avoided if you can spot things that may develop into hazards early on. It doesn't really model reality and its a bit subjective as to what or when something is a developing hazard, I don't think its too bad of a test though. The question is, does it really make people better drivers long term, I doubt it.
@@UKDrivingTest i did the three click method for my theory yesterday and i failed by quite a lot (i got 37/75), i clearly saw all of the hazards but still timed it wrong (i still got a really high score on the multiple choice section though. 47/50) i dont know how i could improve?
You may have a certain difficult with your mind multi-tasking like me. I usually have to get things into muscle memory before I can concentrate on another thing. When your body is used to the roads and used to driving, all you'll be doing is looking around for hazards and changes - there's nothing else to react to on the roads if you think about it. Consider how much people have to stress and concentrate when they go to new towns/areas - you have to revert back to concentrating on hazards/directions/roads/ route allll over again! :)
This was really helpful. I’ve been practicing the theory questions and I’m getting 100% on them but the hazard perception mainly trips people up because there’s not much explanation about how the actual system works. This was really useful. Thanks

After failing my car theory test twice I felt like giving up! Then I came across your channel on TH-cam and I took all your advice, and the 3 click method worked. And I PASSED my theory test today. Thank you so much 😊
@@SuperOpticJ you need minimum marks for the multiple choice and hazard perception seperately. so if you pass the questions but fail the hazard perception, you fail. its the same vice versa.
Took the theory test on monday and passed thankfully! Heeded your advice on tapping 3x and got 59/75 on hazard perception. For anyone who takes the test, make sure you tap several times!
Exact problem I had! I thought it was telling me to only click on the hazards that cause me to take some form of action. I actually thought I'd done brilliantly and then failed with 38/75....
@@user-sx7ur6ut5s Its what I hate about the videos. I can pick up on them actually driving but on a clip its different that's why they have gone to CGI stuff now so that's its staged and its easier to see the hazard they are on about Edit: cant actually belive this but I went to practice on my reactions more and the clip had a go at me for seeing something too early? IS THAT A THING!!?!?! Seeing something to early!!?!?!?
@@Matt-di6nb dude I drive all kinds of construction machinery at work, I'm switched on as fuck with what's around me, it was really insulting to fail this hahaha
@@Matt-di6nb Yeah I was milliseconds ahead of the scoring system and Scored 4 instead of 5 while adding extra clicks. This is one of the reasons I decided to watch a video on hazard perception..

I've dont the tractor clip several times previously and what is frustrating is you get no points until you can see the actual exit where it would emerge
Learning to drive again after giving up 20+ years ago due to failing the hazard perception test multiple times. Back then there were no YT videos or anything to explain how it actually works, but thanks to your video (specifically the 3 click method) I passed first time!
I passed my theory test first time today, this video helped a lot. Scored 62/75 (5 for 9 clips, 4 for 1 clip, 2 for 2 clips, 1 for 1 clip, and 8 for the double hazard). I would say the hazards were obvious but before the hazards appeared, some scenes were confusing as I thought they could be hazards when they were actually not. I practised 20 clips in the 'DVSA Theory Test Kit'. Tips: 3 clicks for any potential hazard you see and no more than 10 clicks for any clip as the video mentioned, you wouldn't get 0 for clicking too many times. Concentration is key!!! I scored 48/50 for the MCQs, learnt and practised using the 'DVSA Theory Test Kit' app. Around 40 questions were similar to the practice questions in the app and the other 10 were worded differently with the same contents. So overall the test is neither hard nor easy, preparation and pratice are VERY important. Thanks a lot for the video!! :)
Thanks for the nice comments and well done on passing. p.s. remember the hazard perception test only scores you on 'developing hazards' these are things that WILL cause you to change your speed or direction, on the clips there will also be various 'potential hazards' which COULD cause you to change your speed or direction but actually don't in the end, so they are still defiantly hazards and things to watch out for when driving for real, but not something that is assessed on the theory test.
Hi mate, just wanted to say thank you for this video. That three click method is a god send. Just did my test today and got 70/75 on the hazard perception. Was very worried about that section until I saw this video.
Alhamdulillah, All thank to the Lord I passed. This vid helps a lot only practiced hazard prescriptions for like 1 hours before the exam and I watched this vid. Thanks bro may God bless u ✌🏽
What's your reason just out of interest? for needing an auto?. I have Autism and I thought I may need to learn in an auto, but I decided to go manual and have never looked back. I'm gonna pass my test in a manual. To be fair it's more fun driving a manual, it keeps you on your toes. Everyone's different though, some people need auto for all kinds of reasons. I hope you're driving now, like me, I am in for my theory next week! :) x
My advice is to buy the extra mock test clips from the DVSA website. It's £15 but the videos are the videos that will show up on the test. They're all from the same video bank. But the point system is really flawed.
I'm glad I watched this video a day before my exam. This is the best thing that can happen to anyone taking the test. I scored 5 in 10 stations and 4 in two. Please watch the video carefully and follow all the instructions

Just passed mine yesterday. Came back to comment on this video because it helped me so much. This advice is all you need for your hazard perception and is spot on, it works a charm.
I took my HGV hazard perception test earlier this year. 19 clips with one of the clips having a double hazard. The pass mark is 67 out of 100. I practiced like mad using a "specialist" bit of software. I got in to the bad habit of clicking 3-4 times at once and on several hazards - at least what I thought were hazards. The software always passed me. On the test I used the same strategy. I thought I had nailed it as I didn't get a warning during the clip. However, at the end of the clip I was told that I had clicked too many times and that I had scored zero for that clip. I had to change strategy very quickly and just double-click. What became obvious though was that the hazards were spotted quite easily. Thankfully I kept my cool and scored 90/100 overall. Don't panic, don't get flustered. You can pass.
I keep failing on it. I've try a few ways to do it. Click once I seen something. But I've been told that a parked car (you have to go around when oncoming traffic) in the road isn't a hazard on the test, but would be in real life so I don't click for that. Any help would be grateful
Thanks for your guidance about 3 clicks technique in video hazard clip. I failed first time at Hazard test got only 37. In second test later, I followed your 3 clicks technique and scored 64 (AD). I subscribed you and wish your prosperity.
Came across this hours before taking my test and I used your advice and guess what I passed!!! On the third attempt. Defo use this method if you’ve failed or about to take the exam especially for the hazard part 🎉

I just passed first time just now thanks to this! Was worried about the hazard test but the 4 click method worked! Thank you soo much! Now onto the driving!
I've come back to say a massive thank you. I had my test this afternoon. I watched your video maybe 2 or 3 times this morning. Guess what, I passed very comfortably 62 out of 75! Your 3 clicks tip, pointing out we must not click more than 10 times per clip (and no much than 4 times in a row), and your emphasising that a hazard was a moving thing (like another vehicle , person or animal) not stationary objects, made all the difference. Thank you so so much! Somehow, after watching this video this morning, I knew I would be ok, and I was!

I passed my theory test on my first attempt yesterday!!! I can say that 3 click technique was helpful. I was confident of multiple choice questions (MCQ) as I reviewed all categories but was worried about hazard perception (HP). Used 3 click method on test got 0 marks on double hazzard i failed by 1 point
Cangrautlion ❤
"you don't want to be frantically looking around for possible hazards"
Hazard awareness is one of the key skill to be a safe driver, at first it may seem a bit frantic, but with practice it becomes very natural.
Thanks

I have failed my theory test coz of hazard perception.. I got 43 in hazard perception 😢
Thank you so much! The day before my exam was when I learnt your 3-click method and I got 62/75 along with 47/50 in the multiple choice :)

mate, about the theory is it marked as a whole in total or seperately as you need minimum marks for both ?
What is meaning of 3_click
@@SuperOpticJ you need minimum marks for the multiple choice and hazard perception seperately. so if you pass the questions but fail the hazard perception, you fail. its the same vice versa.

Sometimes certain hazards I feel is not the developing hazard for them. It's confusing.

@@user-sx7ur6ut5s Its what I hate about the videos. I can pick up on them actually driving but on a clip its different that's why they have gone to CGI stuff now so that's its staged and its easier to see the hazard they are on about
Edit: cant actually belive this but I went to practice on my reactions more and the clip had a go at me for seeing something too early? IS THAT A THING!!?!?! Seeing something to early!!?!?!?

@@Fizzy5pringwater :D
Watched this method today and used it in my theory test today and passed with 62 out 75. Thank you so much! Would highly advise this method!
Glad the video helped, liking and subscribing helps to shows your appreciation :-)

have you clicked multiple times on the video as shown in this video?
4:04 I don’t get how you suppose to get 5 on this like you can hardly see anything and how should anyone know it’s going to be a hazard at that point
He becomes a hazard just after the 1 point mark, this test is useless
that's why you gotta look ahead innit
My advice is to buy the extra mock test clips from the DVSA website. It's £15 but the videos are the videos that will show up on the test. They're all from the same video bank.
But the point system is really flawed.

Just passed mine yesterday. Came back to comment on this video because it helped me so much. This advice is all you need for your hazard perception and is spot on, it works a charm.
great to hear the video helped :-)
Got my HGV stuff soon been practising the CGI clips and now I’m
Getttin real life clips do dunno what to expect 🤣
I keep failing on it. I've try a few ways to do it. Click once I seen something. But I've been told that a parked car (you have to go around when oncoming traffic) in the road isn't a hazard on the test, but would be in real life so I don't click for that. Any help would be grateful

Thank you soo much for this video!. It was really helpful and I passed in my first attempt scored 45/50 and 60/75 .. much appreciated.

4:20 you have to click THAT early for 5 marks??? How ridiculous
I passed my theory test on my first attempt yesterday!!! I can say that 3 click technique was helpful. I was confident of multiple choice questions (MCQ) as I reviewed all categories but was worried about hazard perception (HP). I practiced video clips for HP on the app but I found it difficult to get high scores. However I noticed when I used 3 click method, I got higher scores.
If you get high scores on mock tests for MCQ, you will pass easily on a real test.

Thanks for your video. I passed my driving theory test (MCQs - 48/50 & hazard perception - 55/75) today, 10th January, 2024
This was by far the most useful video for me to pass my theory. I was always stressed out about the Hazard Perception because I’d be penalised for clicking too early. Did my theory today and passed first try, scored 5 points on 6 clips and 8 on the double hazard. Didn’t get 0 on any. Much love to the creator of this video🫶🏻
I passed my theory test first time round today from watching these clips
Great hear that my video helped!

Thanks for your tips. Passed yesterday and got 59/75 on the hazard perception section. 😁

Thank you! Thank you. This video helped me to pass first time today. 5 points in 9 clips!! I am just amazed.
Passed my test today 2nd time (failed 1st time on the hazard perception 38/75) , Great video very helpful🙏
Glad it helped, well done on passing the theory!
Great news, well done!! Did you use the 3 click technique? What technique did I use ?
@@petera8083 Yeah that was the main thing I used, even though I clicked like upto 8 or 9 times in a video I didn't get a warning. I just took the advice from this vid and it helped tons.
@senal - Passed today first time. 50/50
64/75 Good luck with your practical whenever it’s due
@@petera8083 Congrats mate! Good luck for yours too👊
Hi,
Thank you. I have cleared my theory test by watching your videos and DVSA app.

- Scored 9 points on the double hazard clip
- Scored 5 points on 9 clips
- Scored 4 points on 2 clips
- Scored 3 points on 1 clip
- Scored 2 points on 1 clip

Thank you so much, I pass my hazard Perception test Because of you!!!
Well done :-)
thank you for this video! i was really struggling with hazard perception and then i watched this video the day before my test and practiced more on the (DVSA) app
I passed 71 out of 75 🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic video helped me pass my theory using the 3 step method
My wife passed the first part of test, but failed HPT, wish we could see this video before.
Thanks to this clip I didn’t even have to do the test. I told the woman at the reception I had seen this vid and she gave me the certificate just like that.
haha, I am sure she did lol
Passed first time today, your video was the most helpful. Owe it all to you, thanks👍🏻
Eden Hensher that is great, glad the video helped
the 3-click method is so effective. Was scoring below the pass mark on my mock tests online. Saw this method, passed with 60/75 on my next test. thank you so much

This was really helpful. I could take 61/75 by following this Three click method at the test and hit the nail on the head. Thanks🎉
Thank you so much for this video! Tried the free online test (and failed miserably), watched this video the evening before my test and passed with a decent score (almost perfect!) Three clicks ftw!
absolute legend for this video. may be a year late, but I recently failed my theory from the hazard perception section alone by 11 points. going to apply all this advice when I book my test again and hopefully should pass!! thanks for the videos, they really are lifesavers :)
Glad the video helped, liking and subscribing helps to shows your appreciation :-)
P.s. nice drawing on your profile, of what I assume is Garfield (given the lasagne reference lol)
Thank you very much for your invaluable advise, you have helped me achieve a PASS in my theory test today. I scored 48 in the multiple choice and 71 in the hazard perception. Haven’t felt so ecstatic in ages as I opened that results paper. Clicking 3/4 times per serious hazard ensures that you get points and in my case, high scoring points.
That is great news, well done.
Today is my theory test and I have just stumbled on this video and finished watching it. It was indeed an eye opener for me, after wandering in the dark for weeks for a guide to the hazards perception test and its scoring system. I am exceedingly grateful for this.
How did it go?
Used this method and passed first time with 54! Watched this video, then went over a couple practice clips the day before and I was fine
