This type of content makes me eager to get back to Minecraft. Incredibly amazing elevator seriously. Any chance youre working in Electrical Engineering or some sort in real life?
Its so sickk! I might build the realistic one with the tutorial to my survival its just that the floors cant be distant from eachother :( Will you be working on that anytime soon?
hey great build it was exactly what I was looking for. But I did notice that if I pressed the noteblock a bit too delayed it would break and make the floor go down 1 block but this would break the elevator and its just annoying to fix. And was wonder if it's the version I was on (1.20.4) thank you.
I think I found the problem. It has nothing to with your minecraft version but with the design itself. I will try to fix it and update the world download
In the future, please consider working on an elevator with a distance of 6-7 blocks between floors, I think that would be very helpful for a lot of builds :) Thank you for your hard work!
Clearly, i mean i like to play with the height of the room to make diffrents things, with this elevator it's more difficult and can create some frustration due to the low height of the level @@professorsaltshaker3168
Hey there, firstly saw in a different comment that you are doing a bachelors in physics, massive props as I attempted physics at university and could not pass quantum mechanics so good luck. Secondly, do you have a way to change the floor mechanics such that it treats the top level as level one and the bottom level as level 8 (for example). I am using this for a descending base and would love to only have to right click the note block twice to go down one level (its super minor I know but I tried to comprehend how you did the level programing and couldn't wrap my head around it)
hey, thanks I can definitely feel the struggle you went through! Yes that is possible by somewhat inverting the output of the floor selection droppper circle, it depends on how many floors you want to have. I can build it and add it to the world download. How many floors do you need?
I´m not sure what you mean. Do you mean that the door should always close after a while even if you used the noteblock/button to manually open the door?
@@ferivertid I just to built it but I did not find a way to fit it in the current footprint. It is definitely possible but not without a major redesign
Cool, I can try to explain the basic concept. The main component is two flying machines that push the cabin. When the elevator goes up the lower machine pushes it up and the upper machine just flies out of the way to make room for cabin to move into. To start and stop the two machines on every level are a components to start them upwards, start them downwards or to stop them independent from where they came. This components are activated on every level at the same time using the three bubble colums. This means the redstone doesnt care on which level the elevator is at the moment because it gets started/stopt on every level. Now to get from a certain level to a certain level we have to know where the elevator is. This is done using signal strength. The level the elevator is at the moment is stored in signal strength. To get to a different level the number of clicks on the noteblock is converted into signal strength aswell and then compared using a comparator with the signal strength of where the elevator is. By comparing the elevator number with the destination number we know which number is bigger and therefore know if the elevator has to move up or down. The absolut value of the difference gives us the number of levels the elevator has to move. According to that number a slow timer is startet and parallel the elevator is sent up or down. The timer runs exactly the amount of time the elevator needs to get to the destination. When the timer runs out it sends a stop signal and the elevator is stopped. The new elevator position is stored in signal strength an all systems are resetted and the elevator is ready to be used again. The call function button just emulates a player pressing the noteblock multiple times according to the level it is at. Uppon arrival the doors open and a small comparator fade out timer is started to close them after a short while. There is also a system to check if the doors are open when the elvator wants to move. If they are open they get closed, if the are already closed nothing happens. If you have more questions feel free to ask! :D
@@Isaac__600 He just wants to say that could you create a type of elevator in which there are 2 additional buttons, one as up button and another as down button. Each time you press up button, the number of floor it goes up, eg: i pressed up button 3 times while i am at firrst floor, the elevator would go to third floor. Same for down button, instead, the elevator would go downwards. I hope you might now understand what is he saying. Well, i think so that he meant this all [btw, i didn't translated this, i know this language, its known as Hindi language. btw, I am from Nepal. Huge support from me]
thats how the light engine ist programmed. You can see in the video that it flashes also on my version. To decrease the flashing you can set the birghtness in the video settings to max. When desiging the elevator I was aware of this flashing problem but could not find a solution for it.
These elevators are so cool. I have a question about the one with multiple floors. Is 8 the limit of floors, or can you just repeat that pattern as many times as you want? (Not that anything more than 8 is really necessary but I am just curious)
Thanks :) In this case 8 is the limit since I used powered rails (are only powered for 9 blocks long) in an important component in the logic mess at the bottom. But with a bit of work you could extend this (only that logic part, the floors are basically the same patern and therefore almost just copy paste). The next and final limit is 14 floors because the whole system is based on signal strength which only goes up to 15. (Althogh there might be a way using "overloaded signal strengths")

@@biouro independent of where the elevator is at that moment it will go essentially to any random floor. This is because pressing the button for example on floor 6 will send 6 short pulses. Pressing the button on floor 1 will send one puls. Those pulses go through the same line which means the are added or cancel each other out depending on the exact timing. Therefore the elevator could go in this exact scenario to floor 5, 6 or 7. But no worries it has "overflow protection" which means if you click the noteblock for example 20 times or pressing 2 buttons which add to more than 8 pulses although the elevator has only 8 floors it will start counting from one again. This means 20 pulses converto roughly to 20=8+8+4 therefore the elevator will go to floor 4 or one or two floors less depending on the exact timing.
what do you mean? you just click the noteblock 3 time to go to floor 3 and 4 times to go to floor 4 etc. Independent of which floor you are currently on
