Minecraft Incredibly Realistic Elevator 1.21
Showcase of a compact realistic minecraft redstone elevator, full cabin 2x2x3, multifloor, honeyless, call function.
Works in Java Vanilla 1.16 - 1.21.x and with small adjustments also in 1.13 - 1.15
Design by Isaac__600, please give credit if you use it.
world download:
www.mediafire.com/file/cg2hwahkdu6c3ki/Thumbnail_Elevator.zip/file
(the world is in 1.19.3 but you should be able to join in any higher version without any complications, if you need a lower version than 1.19 let me know)
Clickbait?
I got the idea for building this elevator from many many other minecraft elevators on TH-cam. They all had a very similar thumbnail of a fancy elevator door. But the actual elevator shown in the videos looked very different from what the thumbnail suggested, which was quite disappointing. Therefore I tried to build a fancy looking elevator that actually looks like the thumbnail. (no offence to the other creators, I just had higher expectations from seeing these good looking thumbnails :D)
Multifloor Elevator:
To choose the floor you want to go to just click the noteblock that amount of times. The elevator has only 2 - 8 levels, therefore if you accidentally click more often than there are levels it doesn´t break instead it will start counting from 1 again.
Upon arrival the elevator doors open automatically and close after a short moment. The doors can again be opened from the outside using the button or from the inside using the noteblock. The doors will then remain in that position and don't close automatically.
If the elevator wants to move to a different level the doors close first automatically in case they are not closed already.
You can call the elevator from any level to your level.
Simplified Elevator:
The simplified version doesn't have a extra button/noteblock to open and close the doors manually. Instead they are always open, automatically close when the elevator changes level and open upon arrival automatically.
This version can only have 2 levels. But the distance in between can be any number of blocks higher than 20. You just need to extend the vertical redstone line with repeaters and the wall for the call function.
In the world download are 3 versions of this simplified elevator. All function the same but have different amount of "decoration".
All elevators have a button to call on every level that works using a observer clock. I think this is not an elegant solution and may also cause lag if you have too many floors. It is also possible to design it differently but it won't look as nice, if you are interested in how to do that let me know.
If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

In this video I will show block by block how to build the realistic elevator I showcased a few weeks ago. (watch showcase video here: th-cam.com/video/LpspkRg0Mhs/w-d-xo.html) works in Java Vanilla 1.14 - 1.21.x (can be modified to make call function work in 1.13) (probably doesn´t work in bukkit/spigot at all) world downloads: www.mediafire.com/file/0olkyjqahono2mn/Realistic_Elevator_V2_Tutori...

Does this work in Bedrock, too?
no
would it be possible to make the button/noteblock call open the door and then close it just like when the elevator arrived at your floor?
I´m not sure what you mean. Do you mean that the door should always close after a while even if you used the noteblock/button to manually open the door?
@@Isaac__600 yep thats what i meant
@@ferivertid I just to built it but I did not find a way to fit it in the current footprint. It is definitely possible but not without a major redesign
Can it stuck?
Doomedcubed ^13
Hello I just wanted to ask can you make it more floors?
in theorie yes, but that would be a lot of work and it would no longer fit in the current dimesions
Can it actually work on bedrock
no, it only works on java
Hey it's soooooooo amazing i build it but it is soooo hard
Its easy

Do you think that you can make an elevator like this for bedrock?

Funciona en Bedrock?
no
@@Isaac__600 Ok, gracias
I downloaded world, I wanted to look at the slime machine, I didn't understand at all how it was made and how it works))
Cool, I can try to explain the basic concept. The main component is two flying machines that push the cabin. When the elevator goes up the lower machine pushes it up and the upper machine just flies out of the way to make room for cabin to move into. To start and stop the two machines on every level are a components to start them upwards, start them downwards or to stop them independent from where they came. This components are activated on every level at the same time using the three bubble colums. This means the redstone doesnt care on which level the elevator is at the moment because it gets started/stopt on every level. Now to get from a certain level to a certain level we have to know where the elevator is. This is done using signal strength. The level the elevator is at the moment is stored in signal strength. To get to a different level the number of clicks on the noteblock is converted into signal strength aswell and then compared using a comparator with the signal strength of where the elevator is. By comparing the elevator number with the destination number we know which number is bigger and therefore know if the elevator has to move up or down. The absolut value of the difference gives us the number of levels the elevator has to move. According to that number a slow timer is startet and parallel the elevator is sent up or down. The timer runs exactly the amount of time the elevator needs to get to the destination. When the timer runs out it sends a stop signal and the elevator is stopped. The new elevator position is stored in signal strength an all systems are resetted and the elevator is ready to be used again. The call function button just emulates a player pressing the noteblock multiple times according to the level it is at. Uppon arrival the doors open and a small comparator fade out timer is started to close them after a short while. There is also a system to check if the doors are open when the elvator wants to move. If they are open they get closed, if the are already closed nothing happens. If you have more questions feel free to ask! :D
Question does it work in bedrock
@@SarahBranby no
@@Isaac__600 okay thank you
Cool mechanism, but i made this on survival server (Fabric 1.21) and it doesn't work. I checked the redstone etc many times - still nothing. Your world download works fine in singleplayer.
@@BonBuns hm interesting, did you use litematica to build it / check for mistakes?
@@Isaac__600 I did, Litematica says it's accurate. The only difference are the blocks i used to build (different block for walls, cobble instead of gray concrete etc...) but it shouldn't affect redstone
@@BonBuns did you use a glazed terracotta where I used it or did you also change it?
@@Isaac__600 i changed it to blackstone bricks. I changed most of the blocks, but not the redstone.
@@BonBuns oh ok. Then you have to change it. Everywhere where I placed glazed terracotta, which I think is only the shaft and some non visible parts of the elevator cabin you have to change. For the shaft any solid block that does not stick to slime should be fine. For the blocks on the outside of the cabin they also are not allowed to stick to slime but also have to be movable, think only glazed terracotta has this properties

How do you go down?
@@TheBaconMaker just click the note block the number of times to which floor you want to go. For example you are in the elevator on floor 5 an want to go to floor 3. Just click the note block 3 times and it will go down to floor 3
This type of content makes me eager to get back to Minecraft. Incredibly amazing elevator seriously. Any chance youre working in Electrical Engineering or some sort in real life?
@@Rei-qu6nw Hey, this makes me happy to hear, thank you! I'm actually currently doing my bachelor's degree in physics :)
Really awesome! I'm new to redstone, would you have to drastically change this design to work in bedrock?
@@Pomlithe Thank you :) yes but drastically is even a unterstatement. I think there is hardly anything in the redstone of the elevator that would be useful for designing a elevator in bedrock because the redstone mechanics are so fundamentaly different

Yes, it works in 1.21
Can this elevator move downwards by pressing a note block?
yes, the elevator will go to the floor number equal to the number of times you have clicked the noteblock. For example you and the elevator are on floor 5. Then you click the noteblock 3 times, and the elevator will got to floor 3.
