My worst fear there would be that I'd be running late for a flight, recognize these guys, and not have a chance to sit down and have an up-close personal concert!
@@오리역수호자 Not everyone likes jazz, but everyone (the vast majority, at least 90%) likes good music and can appreciate and enjoy it when they listen to it. Jazz is in the top 5 on that list. If you don't like it and can't appreciate it, you're in that other unlucky 10% ☹️

Aw man I was also in the De Gaulle airport earlier today playing the red piano too! Just not in the same terminal. I’ve still got a long way to go until reaching even a fourth of Emmet’s level. It’s always a joy to watch him play!
How cool is that? Espace Musique and musicians can just play there while everyone waits for onward destinations. And, then Emmet Cohen sits down and Patrick Bartley start playing. I think I would probably miss my plane because I didn't pay attention to the time. You know how it goes.
“My old flame - I can’t even think of her name…” How it moves me to hear how these great men, like Charlie Parker, can focus their attention - Patrick Bartley putting his wonderful sound and amazing technical facility at the service of his heart. His playing make my eyes wet.
Let's be nice and pretend those people had flights to catch. Me...I'd have been gob smacked to see Emmet appear next to me and I'd have happily missed my flight for that!
As a french user of Roissy Airport I know you can wait a long long time for your flight or you baggage... Waiting with Emmet would be a dream made true.
Visiblement, la tribu n'apprécie pas la musique qui adoucit les mœurs😂😂Ce qui compte, c'est prendre l'avion. Pour la planète c'est moins bon que la musique🤢🤢
Haaaaaaahaaaaaa haahahahahah! 99 percent of the people there, didn't have a clue of the level of music they heard!!! What a lucky audience!!! And more incredible is the fact that a lot of people passing by, didn't turn their heads to see.
Beautiful!, brings back very moving memories. I was there in 2012, I played on that same piano, and it was a farewell to a love that was never meant to be. Thanks guys!
seeing pat without the hat is something also i would never be able to even imagine running into you two at any sort of public area, let alone a place with a public piano. this is so cool
My worst fear there would be that I'd be running late for a flight, recognize these guys, and not have a chance to sit down and have an up-close personal concert!
My worst fear is that the plane crashes with no survivors...
then you just have to content yourself with the little moment you got and be happy for those that got more!
My worst fear is that I couldn't cancel my flight fast enough to enjoy more of this impromptu concert. #priorities :)
Guess I’d be missing my flight

why why my plane my fly from/to Happiness was so early ... i miss MOMENTS so worth to be ..
Man this was awesome!
If I'm at the airport and these guys start playing there's no doubt I'm missing my flight.
I ain’t gone lie, they’d probably clown you if you told them that lmao but laugh with you too.
me 2
never ever heard a public piano this in tune before lol
I have a tin ear, but I was wondering that exact question. Was it in tune?
@@HM55-77 not perfectly, the higher register in particular left a lot to be desired but still compared to other pianos in public places it's a lot better
@@spacejazz6272 Thank You !
There was a piano in St Pancras station, London, that was surprisingly in tune when I last visited a few years ago
Well it says that “À Paris, la musique adoucit les cœurs”. Need a reasonable piano, n’est-ce que pas?
I wonder if the people realise they listening to two of the best jazz musicians in the world today.
cant believe the family next to them moved away haha
We need more airport gigs
My Old Flame, in a Johnny Hodges mood. Patrick Bartley deserves more recognition, for sure! Emmet Cohen is a Master, they both are Absolutely GREAT.
Wonderful! My Dad got to listen to musicians from Basie’s band play in Munich airport in the 60s after a cancellation.
Awesome
Sometimes it'a a curse to be young and to miss these kind of moments😅
I love how two professional musicians will just play in an airport. Life is so good that way
Never underestimate the power of jazz to clear out a room in 2022. :)
lmao😂
@@camdensmith3919why would it not, a year is not gonna make a difference lmao
Where there's music, there's PEACE!
And where there is Emmet and Pat, there's 🔥!

Live from Emmet's Gate.
Those people to the side are so lucky!
Unfortunately, they don't seem to be aware of their luck :-/
sad commentary on humanity
@@IdanBarir Idan, this was my feeling as well - they had apparantly no idea of their good luck!
You're so lucky that you're not Harry Styles. You can play anywhere you like
A shame that the people there have no idea of what greatness is before them.
Beautiful Old Flame with classic vibrato on the alto!
Fantastic! I don’t know why those people left the hall to catch the plane… I would have stayed. 😃
Bienvenue en France, faites le tour que l'on puisse vous écouter 👍👏

Do you think that there was more of an audience gathered around the corner watching the airport TV that was blaring CNN????? 🤔
Entertaining wherever they go, what a treat🎹🎷
И даже там там где должен собраться весь аэропорт эти два великолепных musicin играют для себя Emmet bravo!!!!!!!
Inspired by "Just Friends" as played by Charlie Parker. Not even a slight applause after the beautiful solo...
All these people passing by not giving a shit...I feel sorry for them :(

A study of the impact of jazz on the public “mind”.
Thanks Emmet! So awesome on so many levels! Patrick's playing is so lyrical and deep. Special stuff!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS😊😊😊😊😊😊🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸!!!!!!! And one of my favorites, “My Old Flame”!!!!
My Old Flame is an all-too-rarely-covered standard. Excellent job.
Those people to Patrick’s left have no clue the treat they’re being served!!!

music softens the heart ..anywhere....indeed
Lol Pat must have been so loud
I don't know how that was picked up from this video, but no I wasn't, at all. Emmet was louder than me, in fact.
@@PatrickBartleyMusic Just figured it'd be loud for the people sitting right next to you lol
I wonder what happens if Pat plays pokemon music with so much kids around, must be super effective...
That would have been fun! Or maybe Pat’s brilliant take on Song of Storms (heavy Coltrane influence) - something for the adults and the youth ;)
What a bundle of joy you and anyone who plays with you deliver to the world! Gracias!
patrick bartley withouth the signature hat is a weird thing to see
Go Emmet and Patrick!!
This and the one recently with Scott R. - I really enjoyed them. Both storytellers.
Which tune Is this ?
My old Flame
Wow, I wouldn't miss my flight with the airlines being as screwed up as they are now, but I'd be flying pissed that I didn't get to stay.😣
As a french user of Roissy Airport I know you can wait a long long time for your flight or you baggage... Waiting with Emmet would be a dream made true.
That’s how you get a seat in a crowded airport….. play some jazz.
Does anybody knows the song recorded by Bird (Charlie Parker) in the 40' s ? Nobody.
WHAT IS THIS SONG PLEASE ???
Thanks for this!
My old Flame! Billie Holiday and Charlie Parker ^-^
Very old 30s? sound sax !
Dear Emmet, dear PATRICK, vous êtes merveilleux. Fly me to the moon…
Allways a pleasure listening you and your guests 👍👏🎶
I adore you two
im pissed that the family next to them looks unpleasent
How can anyone have a conversation when these two are playing right beside them???
너무 낭만적인 파리 공항의 모습이네요 ~^^
Choice of tune (My Old Flame) most apt then ;)
Love Patrick's playing, great sound too. He further illustrates how pathetic my playing is. lol Look forward to more posts like this. Thank you!
:: I want you guys on my next flight!!! :) ::
nice
Oh My gosh...I don't think the folks sitting nearby realize how lucky they were to watchand hear two stalwarts play a foot or two away.
all those people just walking by! What a shame.
