Madden Klass is currently one of my favorites of the younger drummers today. Everything about her is perfect, her style, her technique, her musicality, the way she positions her drums and cymbals, it’s all perfect. She’s got everything I’m looking for in my self.
Those hats though. Still the best hats I’ve ever bought. So versatile, so crisp, yet so smooth. When I first bought them I never thought they would leave the studio until I said screw it and tried them in a live set. Wow, they cut through way more than I thought. Anyways, great performance here!! Awesome video once again. Thanks Meinl for being awesome and giving us none stop content!!
Nice.....and refreshing to hear a jam with just drums. Oh wait it's a drums only mix 😂 I thought she came in with the idea to play drums without a track.
The only thing I don't get here is why she has her kit set up so high when she's not that tall. You can see the tension in her shoulders. Everything could be three inches lower and she could be more relaxed Tight groovin' though, good stuff even without a backing track
Part of it comes down to the equipment placement, mainly microphones, if the mic doesn't allow for a more ergonomic setup, then you'd have to work around it. Also, certain cymbal placement like the splash cymbals dictates where the left crashes land on the setup. There's a lot of different things involved.
@@TotalEvo7 Yeahhhh I don't buy that answer. Recording engineers can and should work around the ergonomics of the player. I suspect she has always had her kit like this
@@mmmbetter55 About the setup, I've seen similar setups like that in vintage P&W music, most notably Randall Gonzalez and Misael Blanco. Also the drummer trio, among others, from the 80s and 90s.
These drum only mixes are cool. That floor tom sounds horrible though 🤣. It is amazing how much the music covers up some of the crappy over tones. Also proves great playing is better than perfect tuning and mix.

Loving these drums-only mixes! Really lets the artists and cymbals shine. Not to mention meinl have the best mixes in the game...
Please more of these drum only mixes!!! I literally drive to work listening to these 😂 Adam tuminros drums-only ones are my favourite

Wow! Sounds beautiful, the kit, the cymbals and of course the playing🤌

Madden is a serious Groovemonster🤘🔥
Who mixed this? It sounds sooooo good
Litle bit David Garibaldi vibe, but very cool!!!!
Menil has the best drum videos on TH-cam in my opinion. Drumeo, Zildjian, Pearl take note because they make you look amateur.

@@mmmbetter55 That's just my theory, there's no definitive answer, but I agree that the engineers should work around the drummer's ergonomics.

@@mmmbetter55 We let the artist set up their kits the way that they want it set up and then we work around that with mic placement.
Damn! Now I want a Ludwig... oh wait, I already have one.
