When I was 14 a man was a master tailor and wanted to apprentice me. I wanted nothing to do with it because I didn't think it was something I would care about. He was in his eighties in the mid 1980's and is long gone now. I regret not taking the time to learn from him because he was very skilled.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Greenfield on a couple of occasions from when I worked with a custom tailoring company years ago, talking to him you can't help but to feel inspired
For me this is a private and personal interview, and I thank you for sharing your life with me. I really can feel you and your achievements and appreciate how your love for people and the tailoring industry has helped so many. What love you have shared, what a big heart you must have, Bless you and Thank you so very very much.
This is one of the most uplifting stories. When large corporations say it cannot be made in the USA, we have a man like Mr. Greenfield who has done more to help his community with jobs and structure, and have done it successfully with morals and ethics. Large corporations need men like Mr. Greenfield for their CEO's.
this was such a beautiful story! enjoyed iy all the way. reminded me of the real reason as to why i love to wear suits and be a gentleman. when i grow old, i want to be like this guy.
I was a tailor once before i started to study and become an engineer. it was amazing adventure when i decided to become a tailor and i have no idea just a passion and some old books about pattern cutting skills.i started to read the books and try to apply the lessons and to make a women garments then after tow years id made my fırst men suit . still make my suits and over coats by my self at home my machine and my tools still with me. and carry on as an engineer. every body have its own story about his experience.and im so proude about my experience. thanks to this video and to you.
I admire people who have passion in things like this. In Hong Kong, bespoke/custom tailoring is one of the oldest profession. They are known for the best bespoke/custom suits, maybe because they have passion in what they do and it reflects on the quality and service they offer to the people who patronize they work.
I really enjoyed watching this mans' story. If every business saw adopted his work ethic we would definitely see better neighborhoods across the US. I would love to work for him.
My first job was in a sewing factory because that was what I was good at. The people there seemed somewhat like this man and his story. There were a little of each and every part of the world, speaking all different languages but being able to communicate with all with a smile or the little words like good or Bonito or Magnifico. It was a great time but it was a hard time. I saw the factories closing and didn't know of them opening up again. Gosh, how many times this man started over. And the one story in my life that pulled at my heart the most was the concentration camps. How unfortunate that life would have such inhuman things in it. A movie that comes to my mind everytime I hear that word, concentration camp is "The Emperor of the Sun". What is the most remarkable to me are these men that had gone through it and kept their heads high and worked their way through that. God Bless this Man. I'd love to work for him.
Absolutely inspiring. I am in the process of getting back into tailoring and from now on whenever I get frustrated I am going to watch this film to lift my spirits.
one of the most melancholy and beauteous videos on yt, its rly giant motivation, describe what man should be, how involve in work and lives of people around
The tailors of the past they are a lost group, they were proud of thier trade and the suits they made they wouldn't allow a person to wear a "bad look". Pride and expertise thats the story. Tailors love to see thier works on people and are proud to say they made a great product.Bless them.
This was a beautiful story and a well made short film. I searched "Master Seamstress" and this was one of the videos that came up. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful
has anyone read his book? I love to read and I've read alot of books, but his book ( measure of a man) is one of the best books I've ever read. his love for his family and friends and especially his love for America is so genuine, this book just had me in tears many times.
Loved the story and the tailor I had expected to see another DIY video was refreshingly surprised. Inspiring video beautifully directed along with the music and sound editing. Why aren’t you guys making blockbuster films the talent is here, obviously.
Whitehorze I see your point, but a corporation is a legal fiction. An identity created and enforced by the state. Being "incorporated" is anti-capitalistic by definition. To pile it on, subsidies, preferential legislation, and Government contracts, welfare, etc. (crony capitalism) don't support Americas capitalist paradise claim. I could be thrown in jail for cutting hair without a license for Christ sake. America is just crappy socialism. I wish more people would admit it. The monster that millennials are protesting is already the thing that they are rooting for. A government for the people. And corporations are people. Legally speaking.
I think it's all the laws and regulatiosn which prevent persons from starting their own company/corperation. Lack of economic mobility. In real capitalism, if you willing to work harder than next guy you have a company.
Great message! Love your passion for tailoring and making great clothes. Inspires me even further on my mission to make super awesome custom clothing for my niche and fans. Let's rock!
Respect you from bottom of heart GOD blees you. .give you health and strength so that you helped the poor people. .i m also a master tailor my dream is wish is same. .❤🙏🎩
wow.... im speechless what a great story hes a surviver from nazi concentration camps during WW2 in Europe...lost his entire family come to america with nothing struggle for a quite time and now making a finest clothes ...........

this deserves an oscar. excellent short film.

I , fortunately, did accept an offer from a master. Have been a tailor now for 40 years. I love it.
no disrespect but as an amateur seamstress you're a damn fool lmaooo. thats priceless knowledge.
Skyler Contrado “no disrespect” yet you called him a damn fool... logic folks
You can go and learn it now, it's never too late.
"everybody is a perfect person"
Perspective of a conservative 🇬🇧 FAITH in the people
I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Greenfield on a couple of occasions from when I worked with a custom tailoring company years ago, talking to him you can't help but to feel inspired
What a lovely guy.
Wearing my suit makes me feel 10ft tall with the aura of a articulate gentleman 🇬🇧 That's what a society needs
A hard working, passionate, determined, man. I wish there were more like him in the world today. I would love to be his apprentice.
His whole aura is amazing. That smile

This is what REAL Capitalism looks like. Not the Corporatism that we have today...
its all real capitalism, it has its bright and its dark sides

The US hasn’t had capitalism for decades. It’s cronyism today pure and simple.
I agree @Whitehorze, This is the epitome of local capitalism that raises the standards for the local community. 🇬🇧 Conservatism
As a up and coming fashion designer this is sooo helpful
Respect to this fine gentleman.

So I should go into a tailoring house and ask to be an apprentice, srsly I've been trying to get one, but online isn't much help with this,
Grading a seam is a good technique to trim down bulk but in order to get the corner perfectly angle, there are two other tricks.
this is great!
This was inspiring
Awesome vid
Very educative
Man with character..Respect
