Yoongi paid for this video out of his own pocket. He was the first one to ever film a music video at the palace. He paid about $2 million US for a song and music video he released for free as a gift to Army
Eagle eye spotting our eldest and youngest members in their cameo. It kind of perfectly captures their sibling energy. They like to pester each other. But also, when JK was just a 13 year old baby when he moved into the dorm with the guys, big brother Jin made his breakfast and drove him to school every day. Jin looks after all his little brothers. Yoongi felt so bad standing on that person. LOL As soon as he got off, he was asking if they were ok. They were fine btw. A Daechwita, which you hear at the start of the MV, is historical Korean military music used for the changing of the guard, the coming of the king and the marching of the ARMY, all appropriate meanings here. There is an underlying story to the MV and two others in a trilogy (Haegeum and Amygdala) which is a story about Yoongi (Suga's) mental health journey and his traumas. This one has that underlying story mainly in the visual storytelling. In this one, the Mad King is his past self and represents his rage, paranoia, isolation and pain. The scar, representing his traumas, is fresher on the Mad King. The 6 guys and a woman behind the Peasant represents his BTS brothers and ARMY. He is no longer alone. He leads a rebellion and shoots the Mad King with a Colt ARMY model revolver, representing the strength to heal that he found in ARMY. No, Eminem is not too much for comparison. BTS rapline are definitely some of the best rappers, writers and producers in the game, globally. You'll see. He wasn't kidding when he said "This country's too small to hold me in." BTS really are global stars. They transcend KPop and S Korea. Thay are bigger (by every metric, awards won, records broken, album sales, streams, views, etc) than all of KPop combined. Their competition on the charts is the likes of Drake, Beyonce, Taylor, The Weekend, etc even though they get no radio play in the West, but they also fill the biggest stadiums in the world all over the world, like the biggest touring bands. Yoongi's global solo world tour in 2023 was the biggest and highest grossing tour for a rapper in the history of the world. He also set the record at the time for highest grossing single shows for a rapper. BTS brought $5 Billion in revenue into S Korea in the past year WHILE they were all away serving in the military. When they are all out next year it's going to be INSANE.
They call him Minstradamus. Yoongi is a musical genius. They also call him Hands of Midas because everything he touches turns to gold. He's an incredible writer, composer, producer, rapper, dancer, singer... You're gonna love the rabbit hole that is Min Yoongi.
Out of all of the reactors I've ever watched, you are the only one to immediately notice Jin & JK!!! Love it!! Everything about this mv is a masterpiece 💜
The songs DAECHWITA, HAEGEUM and AMYGDALA (and their respective MVs) make up the trilogy that represents Suga's alter ego. They are part of the same universe and tell of the struggles between their inner demons and other personas. They are simply incredible, revealing, deeply symbolic and meaningful. DAECHWITA (traditional Korean march, played for kings, army movements, etc.), is the first in the trilogy and was an applause for all who hate him. While in the title song AGUST D Suga was full of anger, resentment and disillusionment with the world, in this song he presents himself with an impetuous but somewhat calm personality. Furthermore, in the MV there are two AGUST Ds: the one with black hair was the poor one (appears with 6 friends, mention of BTS) and the blonde one was the king (tyrant who kills opponents and dissidents). In the tent, a woman (reference to ARMY) gives the poor man the key to start the revolution. So, he and his 6 friends arrive at the king's lands without fear. Where they show the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk (“creator of BTS”). The king sentences him to death, however, even tied up and on his knees, he continues singing DAECHWITA. The other condemned men join the revolt, singing DAECHWITA. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill the poor man also joins the revolt, frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. With this we have a metaphor to demonstrate the lower class “overthrowing the system”. Totally relatable to BTS who started as a discriminated group (from a small almost bankrupt company), who were despised and disdained, but ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in k-pop (true kings of the game). In the time of dynasties, the poor would never be part of the elite but today BTS who started small is the elite. The achievement was extremely difficult, however, with hard work, talent and determination they “overthrew” the dominant system of the Korean music industry (and continue to do so until now, overturning the arrogance and prejudice of the global music industry). 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yes sweety that is Jin and Jungkook. Yes that was a real person he stood on. Bang PD is Bang Si-Hyuk, the Chairman of BigHit Entertainment and the man who spearheaded the creation of BTS.
Bang PD is the man who created BTS and helped the boys get their brake, the reference to the 2 sides the “king Suga” is to represent the music industry and record labels putting BTS down and the “poor Suga” is Suga himself fighting back against the hate that he and BTS get from the industry and media. The words Deachwita is traditional Korean music usually plaid when royalty or military are marching, having poor Suga head banging to the words Deachwita is showing that he is the true king. The 6 boys behind Suga through the video represents BTS and the struggles they went through in the early years in the industry. Yes that was Jin and Jungkook fighting in the backyard.
I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.... he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea. He has released 2 mixtapes - and last year released his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". He is best known for his honest hardhitting lyrics. I love the rap line and all of their (BTS) solo projects but Yoongi is something else. There's something about his lyrics that just has an effect on me. Once you dive into his universe, you'll be amazed by him even more. Strongly suggest you listen to his entire D-Day album and RM's RPWP, even thou I like Indigo more. Thanks for another great video, excited to see the next one.
You are right. He was a underground rapper before BTS (just like RM). And you 100% need to watch this hole trilogy of songs, even better if you would watch the behind the scenes with Yoongi giving the full explanation (is basically his internal fights and getting over the traumas in his life)
I was waiting for your reaction for a long time!! I loved seeing you speechless!!! Believe me, you will be impacted by the other two MVs in the August D. Haegeum and Amygdala trilogy.
The location ( Yongin Dae Jang Geum Park) is a recreation of historical buildings from different eras that was constructed to be a film set. However, it is also serves as a tourist theme park.. MBC has used the park to film dramas such as Wind in the Palace and The Great Queen Seondeok.
Recognizing Jin and JK was too cute! and correct! When you got quiet at min 7 because he changed up the tempo was so real. I love your reactions, thank you for diving into BTS. This music video is a work of art and Suga is a genius. 💜💜💜
One of my fav discoveries listening to Daechwita was that the beat doesn't change at all throughout the song. It's his rap verses that make you feel like the music slows down or speeds up.
Always expect the unexpected in any BTS or solo member MV. Always. BTS is not KPop. They are in a whole other level. True musicians and composers and writers and concept creators. They sing and perform every genre! No other group does that. And this is the only group where every single guy could quit BTS and become an International solo artist. You will find that out as you explore each guy's solo albums. RM and Jimin, and JHope have all dropped 2 albums. They are all so very amazing and creative. And "OUT OF THE BOX". So, again, always expect the unexpected with BTS and every member. Watching the Behind the Scenes for this MV is great because you get to see Jin and JK in hair and makeup...bantering away. A fun fact JHope rented a coffee and churros truck to be on the set for the cast and crew of "Daechwita." This MV requires an explanation video. It is so full of symbols and history and Easter eggs and rich cultural background info. Plus if you didn't understand the ending or what Suga's main meaning for the whole video..an explanation is a requirement. It's deep and very clever. If you haven't figured it out yet, Suga is a genius! I'll bet you don't know this. He has his own interview show called "Suchwita." He has interviewed all the members. So you will definitely want to watch those episodes. But he also interviews famous Korean stars and celebrities, and creators, and singers, and more. Suga is a very good interviewer. Very laid back. Please find out the order he interviews the members. Otherwise you'll discover some spoilers. He interviewed RM first as a test show with a temporary set. The upper mgmt liked the show. So they gave it a go. And they built Suga a very nice cozy set. Suga gets a turn. RM interviews him.
I think you're the first person reacting to this video who immediately found Jin and Jungkook cameo in MV :) I love you reaction here :) You're also right saying about beauty of the set. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful sets of their MVs. Oh, and, I see you like Suga's skills, he is really amazing rapper, he raps in different speed, rythym, flow, but first of all, you really can feel what he is telling you about, even if you don't know the langugage. I am Yoongi biased and that is what brought me to him, the fact that I can really feel his anger, or irony, or sadness, or any other emotion he wants to deliver. In addition when you focus on lyrics... sometimes the message is literally jawdropping. So, the moment I saw how suprised you are at his skills is just golden :)
Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the last gun that Suga shot was "Army" Colt army model 1860 Ps:The name ‘Agust D’ is the reverse of ‘DT Suga’ written in the lyrics. DT refers to Suga's hometown, Daegu, that is, D Town. He used the nickname "Suga" abbreviated as "Suga" as he was a basketball shooting guard.
Bang p.d is the owner of bighit and hybe the man who put bts together as a group. There is no rapper including m that yoogi couldn't go against he is just that great.
You are, hands down, my favorite person to watch reactions from. Your sincerity, the way you’ve done due diligence to learn who each of the guys are individually, your professional assessments… everything about *how* you go about your reviews is pure 🤌🏼 chef’s kiss IMO. Thank you for your reviews! And ARMY… wow, thank all of you who put so much work into sharing what you know in the comments. Although I’m older (#AuntieARMY 😉), I’m actually baby ARMY. Thank you thank you for sharing your vast knowledge! 🫶🏼 Borahae! 보라해! 💜
You're totally not tripping. I loved that you notced jinkook. Many reactors dont notice them at first. Loved that you did. Also Bang Pd is/was their ceo, and he has a nice relationship with bts.
Hello it nice to see you reacts to Suga and your joy of wondering who beside Jin 😊 yes it was the Makanae Jungkook 🥰 .. everything here as you see and Army's comments below is overwhelming gives the warmth understanding of this is just a jaw dropping to all our Global BTS Army who have their strong bonding with BTS members and thank you for your reaction to this from all of us BTS Army across the globe 💜😇 please take great care out there with our Purples Hearts Army who is devoted to BTS members 🙏🥰
Watch BTS member Jungkook's solo live. I recommend watching his guerrilla performance at TSX Entertainment located in Times Square, Manhattan, New York.
Yoongi is a genius in his own way. You need to see the whole trilogy 1- Daechwita 2- Haegeum and 3- Amygdala. Also the last, Shadow and AgustD. You'll love it... Also the Cypher's... Yea thats Jin ans JK in the video 😂 you got them right
Hello It's nice to see you really well done you noticed Jin and kookie me when I first saw the video I haven't watched them I love your reactions good luck
Белый - это тщеславие и алчность, что начинают поглощать артиста. Я - король, я - босс. Черный - это реальный Юнги, что одерживает верх. Но как покажет Амигдала - черный - это не совсем сам Юнги
Just subscribed - loved your reaction The picture of Bang PD was drawn by JK. There is an OT7 performance of Daechwita where Jin and JK are wearing the clothes from the MV. It's a hilarious performance. They had so much fun
Bang PD is their CEO from the start...that cartoonish drawing was what JK drew ...Just mentioning him casually is a flex...Suga learned the sword dance in like 2 days
I thoroughly recommend you watch the shooting sketch video. It is fascinating what a genius this man is. Yes, well spotted, it was Jin and JK. As Suga bumps into Jin, Jin spins round and his fishing rod hits the back of JK's head, hence the fight. I also re commend the explanation video by DKDKTV. He explains all of the Korean cultural references that are visual and in the lyrics. If you thought Suga was pretty clever before, after seeing that, you will agree he is a genius. Bang PD refers to Bang Si Hyuk, the man that brought BTS together, the then CEO of Big Hit Entertainment. The drawing in the video was based on a quick sketch JK did of Bang Si Hyuk in one of the Run BTS episodes. Just with a couple of lines JK portrayed him really well.
Your reaction noticing Jin and JK was so cute 😂
yeahhh that clapping was so cutee
STRAY KIDS IS THE KING OF KPOP STRAY KIDS IS THE KING OF KPOP,,,
I never noticed either Jin and JK so thanks for that surprise and pause 🙏🏼

Finally…. The mother of all Agust D songs!!!! Daechwita !!!
It's them (Jin & JK) & amazing that you caught it! I didn't see it till the behind the scenes video came out weeks later.

Suga is so exciting to watch, immense talent. He is also a brilliant producer.

This is the first song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as -
Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others
Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society
Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place.
Suga/AgustD wrote, composed and produced the songs, he conceptualised the MVs and had creative control (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs)
Fun facts -
The gun used was a Colt M 1860 ARMY
Daechwita is Traditional Joseon Korean Royal Parade/Military Music - notifying all that the king is here
Yoongi(Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea.

Borahae! 보라해! 💜

You're totally not tripping. I loved that you notced jinkook. Many reactors dont notice them at first. Loved that you did.
Also Bang Pd is/was their ceo, and he has a nice relationship with bts.

Suga/Agust D is the BEST hands down. He’s phenomenal 💜
You should listen to "Agust D" by Agust D
Greetings from Poland

Yoongi is a genius in his own way. You need to see the whole trilogy 1- Daechwita 2- Haegeum and 3- Amygdala. Also the last, Shadow and AgustD. You'll love it... Also the Cypher's...

Hello It's nice to see you really well done you noticed Jin and kookie me when I first saw the video I haven't watched them I love your reactions good luck
Im waiting for u Shane 😂😂
Please release reactions more often😊
Белый - это тщеславие и алчность, что начинают поглощать артиста. Я - король, я - босс. Черный - это реальный Юнги, что одерживает верх.
Но как покажет Амигдала - черный - это не совсем сам Юнги
Every time I listen to this song it just gives goosebumps to me the background music of this song with his voice ohh my god 🔥🔥🔥😩
U gotta listen to his song Give it to me… its so cool
bang pd is the creator of bighit bang shi hyuk....
Filter de jimin
2:25 dessa vez você está certo 😂 é uma participação dele e do JK 💜
Yes that was Jin and also Jungkook. The two fighting. lol
Just subscribed - loved your reaction
The picture of Bang PD was drawn by JK. There is an OT7 performance of Daechwita where Jin and JK are wearing the clothes from the MV. It's a hilarious performance. They had so much fun
Ofcourse the rapline NEVER disappointed, because they are AMAZING BTS. Borahae 💜💜🫶🇸🇷
Highly recommend "Agust D" MV!!!
Bang PD is their CEO from the start...that cartoonish drawing was what JK drew ...Just mentioning him casually is a flex...Suga learned the sword dance in like 2 days
We hope that you will not be late again in uploading videos.
Just now pressing play I can’t WAIT to see your reaction. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I saw it as a video statement of his own duality and which version will survive
The real young Yoongi is still who loves himself as
I thoroughly recommend you watch the shooting sketch video.
Remember you can include in your reaction the behind the scenes with the artist, the dance or sword practice, lyrics explained by a Korean.
