Capture One for iPad is very promising. Only issue I have with it, is it cannot do selective edits or masking…All edits are global. Not ready for prime use until that gets added. Lightroom Mobile has select subject and selective edit/masking capability.

That is why i got the try out and wait now till selective edits and masking is edited. And a iphone app will be nice to have.

Nice one Edward! I’ve just bought my Ipad Pro 12,9 and downloaded both. I’ve used Capture One in Mac lately for all RAF files and was expecting a MUCH better delivery by Phase One but was highly disappointed. Very raw app and the interface I didn’t like at all. Much preferred an adapted desktop version to be used along with the apple pencil like lightroom does. Well, Lightroom looks a much better option currently to cull, edit, sync and organize any photo library. Running some tests though with my Ipad connected to my monitor it still looks like C1 renders Fuji files better out of the box. In Lightroom I need to be very careful while adding Sharpening to not add worm artifacts. But after this is done with Details slider at 0 it gets quite similar with the initial C1 rendering… Such a shame because I would prefer to stick with C1 globally but their solution is more expensive and very far from what Adobe have delivered for a long time already regarding syncing and organization.

Are the newer versions of Capture One Mobile in a better place for full editing (2025)?

@@Paul_anderson_creative Does it integrate well with Desktop/Windows Capture 1 now? I have turned on a trial to see how it goes.

I had big hopes for C1 on the iPad and even upgraded to the M1 for it because I love C1 on my computers. I was pretty disappointed with it when we finally got it though. Affinity and LR will have to remain my go to.

Yea im not gonna lie, im currently not using it at all though I do still use the desktop app.

Agreed…Until they add masking and selective editing, it’s crippled with all global editing only.

Looks good bro. I use fujifilm xt3 and noticed raws look better on capture one. The only thing I miss is curves because I can make contrast pop better. However I am using affinity for ipad for making the missing adjustments and editing

Yup not having curves sucks. Hopefully they add it sooner or later.z

In the Capture One iPad, can we adjust with Film-Simulation of Fujifilm on the photos what we have taken?

Wish Capture One would’ve brought masking before tethering. I feel like it’s the money grab thing. This way you have to buy the desktop version.

C1 is amazing on the ipad. BUT…and its a huge BUT…you CANNOT use it like the LR cloud. There is NO way to get images from desktop version of capture one to iPad Pro. That makes it useless to me at this point. IDEALLY you should be able to come in from a shoot. Upload your images into c1 on desktop. Synch to cloud. Then cull and edit on iPad Pro at coffee shop, in bed, on vacation, etc. THEN when you return to desktop those changes should have been synched and you are ready for final export etc. It cannot do that as of launch. LR can.

Yup, that’s a huge setback. I love to work in the desktop version would be nice to have that feature plus import your presets.

Can LightRoom download jpegs only and leave raw files in the camera? I need something for preview only, CaptureOne only downloads Raw so it takes up too much space and time on an IPAD.

Subject content aware is too OP in LR. Capture one is great for tethering in studio and their color.
