I think the coolest part of this video is seeing the orchestra members in the beginning looking very stiff and unsure, but as it goes they feed off the energy of the band, and by the end they're just as into it and the energy magnetism in the room is so palpable you can feel it through a TH-cam video. Masterpiece.

There's been an entire Symphonic metal genre since the 90's...we've been shouting it for years that it's the best way to add more drama to a song, and it's never really caught on more mainstream sadly

What actually blows me away is how f*cking perfect Sam's vocals are. The vocal range, switching in between .3 seconds from shouting to high cleans. This band is simply built different

Yeah this is absolutely impeccably mixed, there's definitely some post processing on his vocals, but, if he didn't sound as fantastic as he does pre mix, you wouldn't be getting this result, the talent has to be there for the engineer to just shine the light on it with a good/great mix!

I’m just making an educated guess, but I don’t think they got this orchestra together for just one song. So everyone asking for Dead Butterflies... Definitely not out of the realm of possibility. That being said, this is so good.
Edit: They’re doing the whole album like this in December via stream.
I'll guess they played Demi-God and Dying Is Absolutely Safe too, because they are songs with a lot orchestral parts. Dead Butterflies I wouldn't prefer it, because they already played it at rah so, I would prefer something new they never played before.
This is the only song we did in that session but we are looking to take this concept further in the not too distant future...

Its a series by amazon. Amazon has been doing this with a few artists, Architects, Bastille, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves this year. Bastille had a documentary-esque style video released around their orchestrated sessions at abbey road with Amazon. There will possibly be one for the other artists too, but unsure.
Dan said on Twitter that they only recorded this one song but they have plans for the not so far future.

Tbh, if any action movie used this as their score, it would probably be one of the best I've heard in a long time hahaha.
The reason it sounds very score-like is because of the orchestra mixed with the industrial tempo of the song. It creates an "epic" sound very reminiscent of action-movie scores.

Some were having fun with it. Some were a little bored/confused looking... but that one floutist (3:49) looked deeply concerned with what she was doing, and every life choice that led her to this moment - she looked like she was worried that her flute was going to melt, lol

Sheesh! The original was already an absolute banger, but this version let's it SOAR! A fantastic collaboration, amazing. Also I read today that "Classical music is Heavy Metal before electricity" and after hearing this I think they may be onto something, the two just blend so powerfully.

Arguably they transcended when they released Ruin. They got a lot of hate at the time from straying away from the technical "mathcore" sound of Nightmares, I remember Tom saying at the time (2007) that anyone who didnt like them changing their sound from the Nightmares album should F off. haha. I mean, people were mad at metallica in '84 for releasing fade to black, as it was too much like a ballad.
Its common for bands switch or blur their "genre" from time to time.

Why is it so hard to find good rock with orchestra? Maybe I'm just super new to this kind of music but I have only found 3 songs and one of them might be the best song I've ever heard in my life. It's called " I'm not a vampire revamped." If somehow you haven't heard this song, I promise you, you won't regret it.

Whoever arranged the orchestral parts is brilliant. Instead of the usual treatment of trying to fit the song into an orchestral piece, they fit the orchestra to the song. This has got to be one of the best, if not the best, orchestral versions of a hard rock/metal song I've seen.

As a trumpet player I have to give a huge shout out to the low brass that brought the bass line and bad ass sound of this song through.
As a trombone player I will forever be envious of those octave jumps trumpet players can do; gives me chills every time!
