Been there many times for work. Miss the place. Stuck there few days again if the plane cannot landed. A lots of memories. People there are lovely. Climbing prayer mountain with some friends and struggling to go down the mountain during heavy rain have to slide and wild boar chasing us on the paddy field😂😂😂😂😂😂 morning so early sunshine and evening so early moon. Midnight as cold as winter and the cold air causes the warm moisture in our breath to condense into tiny droplets of water that appear like a small, misty cloud ☁️. Morning wakeup oil inside bottle like butter 🧈 floated on the oil surface 😂😂😂😂. The water so cold that you have to wait till bit afternoon for bath🛁. The largest solar system is in Bario and it give electricity supply for people in Bario and it surrounding village. Bario is recommended for self isolation from modern world as it still preserved the nature and good for healing.
How I miss Bario. When you started the video, I remember that particular view... It was the view taken from the balcony of my brother in law's place. When you were telling the story on the way up your hike, I spot an old friend of mine, Lionel Gary... Ahhh.. How I wish I could be in Bario with the kids now

Bario is where you will see a lot of KELABITS where as Ba'kelalan is where you will see the LUN BAWANG ppl. the Kelabits and Lun Bawangs are like couzins... the culture is almost identical.i am from West Malaysia married to a LUN BAWANG i have climbed Mount Murud many times and enjoy the culture and food of the LUN BAWANG ppl. a suggestion: IF POSSIBLE GET THE PPL THERE AND LET THEM SPEAK TO YOU OR SHOW THEIR TRADITIONS AND CULTURE.THE PPL WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT.THNKQ ENJOY THE PLACES PPL AND CULTURE OF BORNEO.

Went to Bario in 2020 before the MCO. Enjoyed the fresh cool air, tranquility, paddy fields, mountain view and the friendly Kelabits. Can't wait to go again.

I'd say the climb to the Prayer Mountain in Bario is a lot easier than climbing Mount Santubong. Santubong is a tough cookie! I hope to hike up again soon, and spend a night on the summit in my hammock!

I visited Bario only once but it is one of my favorite place in Sarawak. I remember the weather was pretty cool there, I had to wear a long shirt too, which I didn’t expect to do in Malaysia..haha And how I regret I didn’t climb the prayers moubtain… next time gotta climb up definitely !!

Great video, Im from Kuching and used to hike at Mt Santubong and Singei. Bario is new to me it’s so beautiful up there.. what other attractions there you would recommend?
Santubong and Mount Singai are nice hikes as well! Bario has many unique places to visit. There are various traditional longhouses, there is even a Salt Mine in Bario! There are fish farms, beautiful mountains and many padi fields. The temperature is low, so it's really nice to be there!
Consider making a video where you cook sarawakian laksa - with ingredients that you can get in Europe. I have tried a few times but it does not work for me. Best Jonas, Denmark
We usually bring back Laksa Paste from Sarawak to Holland. The rest of the ingredients can be found in the normal supermarket. The laksa paste can only be found in Sarawak though..
It can still get hot when the sun is out. In the morning and evening it's usually quite chilly (for Malaysian Standards). Temperatures can drop to about 15-18C at night! Nice!
There are still some good trees around. The Bario Area has been used by the locals for a long time, so they have cultivated a lot of the land. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of thick jungle left!

The Dutch have done many bad things over the past century that no one should be proud of! Luckily, the world is a whole lot different now and we can all live together in peace..
