Back in the 80s I did a hike from Lg Lellang to Leo Mato via Lg Sait and by boat down the Baram back to Marudi. Did a night in Lg San I was there again many time in the mid 90s. Ulu Baram was heaven in 80s before logging, and still is a beautiful place after logging.
Wow! That's a great memory! I can imagine it was a lot more rugged and difficult to travel to the area compared to now. Even though it's still not easy to get to all the different villages!
@@GlobalGibbon flew from Marudi to Lg Lellang. The hike to Leo Mato was two full days through mostly pri. forest. Did overnight stop at Lg Sait . Was fun.

Thats the problem. I'd always love to explore the rest of Sarawak... Its just very hard to get there, just like what you said, the road is muddy and you need a 4X4.
You need to save some money to go up to the Baram, or you need to find some local friends to go with. I want to go many more times, but it's indeed a bit tricky and expensive to get there!
Bro, the one you said burial house is actually a paddy store. For us to store the paddy that we have harvested. Im a Kenyah from that area but living in Kuching. It’s located right in front my late grandpa house. Next to the one with the fishing nets.
@@GlobalGibbon nice video bro. Loving your videos. Keep it up. 👍👍 A little trivia about the Catholic church there. It was started by the Mill Hill Missionaries. We have few priests from Europe served there before. One of the most famous one is Fr. Albert Jacobse from Netherlands.
Hey Chris. I used to live in Miri and once in a while ride up to Long Lama. It's a nice little bazaar. I can't wait to head back to the Baram river and explore more. There is so much beauty to be found there!
Welcome to Telang Usan sir! There are more places like this in the kampungs - kampungs. Just hope that the government don't get greedy and end up destroying the nature 😔 Thank God Baram Dam Project was cancelled! Hope you enjoy your stay 😊
I love the Telang Usan and Baram region. It's rugged and wild, and it should stay like that! I can't wait to go back and visit more Kampungs, mountains and waterfalls!

Ulu Baram is far from Kuching! You'll have to get to Miri first (12hrs drive from Kuching), then another 6 hours up a logging road.
